  1. Minder - when you say west Norwood, do you mean Paxton green group practice? I was with them for years when I lived west dulwich - the care was exemplary for me, always there for me, I was constantly ill (side effects of an illness and meds), it was very hard leaving them. I would join HH if I could!!
  2. I've just seen this and now it might make sense, I rang up Monday for an Appointment and I was shocked to get one next week with a choice of times!! It's great, but how it should be.
  3. It's on sky news this morning - it's awful :( http://news.sky.com/story/1645237/croydon-cat-ripper-may-be-keeping-trophies
  4. Hi tee, do you have a link to the event? Thanks!!!
  5. Is that a joke! It's vile!
  6. I think I hear them now - around Underhill but on the main road towards F Hill! Noisy from here so I can only imagine how intimidating they are! That's nuts about the pavement!!
  7. Thanks I had to look up upad before responding, as I had not heard of it. We won't be renting anything out. We have taken over the duties of the freeholder and use a managing agent to do day day things. We would be interested in seeing how people get on with RTM, without the use of managing agent :)
  8. Hi, I was just wondering is there anyone locally who has done right to manage and/or Section 20? We currently use an agent to manage the RTM requirements etc., including a section 20 notice. I am just wondering your experiences of dropping the agent and looking after things yourself? I have looked into the people who we get services from, am building a good picture of regulatory requirements and dates etc., it's just the practicalities and experiences that would be good to hear about. Also the project management of the section 20. Cheers!
  9. I saw it this morning. I believe from bbc news it was not in service, and there's a video of it. Hopefully the driver is okay.
  10. Yes empty waiting rooms, mostly quiet when I go there - and when there is a few more people in than usual, it's hardly busy then either! But it's not to say the doctors aren't busy, only that there are just a couple on. I reckon that's why you are sent to a colored room, as opposed to seeing a doctor/nurses name on the board! Rarely see any doctor twice either. They forget to do things there, so not surprised about the kiddies immunisations at all. Tip for what it's worth, I always try and get a scanned copy if any letters from the hospital, same with blood test results etc., so that when I do get an appt and something is not on the system I've got the back up. Mind you the last time I did that, the doctor barely took my word for it, despite the letter attachment clearly coming from a Kings emails address!
  11. It's been difficult to get an appt at the DMC for the last 5 years that I have been registered there. The doctors are lovely but clearly are overworked or work to tight timelines etc.. I won't go into all that, but I always feel like I'm been shipped off to Kings for things, things that either I'm used to managing so know what meds are needed (and should be on my records) or that the drs fear making some decisions which are sensible in my mind (I paid to see a private dr a few weeks ago, it was easier and I was lucky to be able to do it, and he said about all the things I request from the DMC and they are reluctant to give me. It could have saved me losing 2/3 of my hair on the most recent occasion! As a matter of interest, has anyone else noticed that when yiu are there for an appt, there appears to be only 2 or 3 doctors working at a time? There used to be ten or so at my previous practice and the service was impeccable!! How does the system work at GPS? Do they get ? per patient on their books in a given year for example?
  12. Thanks so much for all your help! That's so much better than getting multiroom - I'm very pleased with this :) So much easier! :)
  13. Oh my god, I didn't know that about Xbox! Thank you! I just looked it up and it says play station too. I have a Wii, ill see if it can be done on that. Thanks again, I'm assuming this definitely works, if I eventually have to buy a console for it. Does it work with the Sky remote? Sorry for too many questions.
  14. Oh a phone line too!! They didn't mention thAt - thank you so much, I didn't know that at all!! I think this multiroom will not be happening :( There must be an alternative - it's google time yet again!! Thanks for your help :)
  15. That is totally scary and more aggressive than you'd usually see posted here!! I really hope the lady is okay and recovers as quickly, or as much as she can. Thanks for posting and letting us know.
  16. No unfortunately, and its not something I can get anytime soon! I only recently got a new tv - but thank you!!!
  17. I am hoping someone one can help please? I just rang Sky about ordering multiroom, and I am definitely not ?with it? because I hadn?t even thought about them having to wire the box in the second room. The dish is a bit of a distance from the bedroom. Currently, the dish is connected by a wire hung externally around the side of the building and it comes through the living room wall where the tv is. The cable is rather large. I?ll be lucky if they can bring the new cable from the dish to the new box in the bedroom externally. Assuming they do, the box is going to be in an awkward corner in terms of bringing the wire through the room. I cant rearrange the furniture due to the layout of the room etc.. I dont want a large wire just hanging around the room. Is there some type of smaller wire that can be used as a connector - from the main wire connected to the Sky dish, which I could connect to the Sky box, and neatly tuck around the room? I hope that makes sense? I?ve tried to use a video sender, so as to avoid multiroom but the signal was very poor. I don?t know if there are any other options. Any ideas would be much appreciated :) Thanks!
  18. This is really sad and horrible - is there a vet or some group that can be contacted to help the fox?
  19. Have people called? I appear to have been the first to call and does know how long it might take to fix? It's all over Underhill road too!
  20. I'm heartily recommending Richard again. Nothing is any trouble and does a perfect job. He sees things to be done too, there were a few things I noticed this time that he completed, which I hadn't even thought about doing. I'm very pleased with all he did and will be having him back again for sure. His number is 07984 146615.
  21. I got the "thane h2o steam mop", I love it. I do all the tiles and flooring, and tried it on the hob etc (although you can't beat bicarbonate of soda for hob cleaning), the sofa etc..I was in Robert dyas the other day, and they had this smelly liquid stuff that you could add to the steam cleaner, I gave it a go and it left a lovely smell around the flat. I could never use an ordinary mop and bucket again. Thoroughly recommend it :)
  22. That's incredibly sad and delivered in a really unsympathetic way. He was very young too, not that it matters in terms of what the heart of the story should have been about. It's really important to look out for our neighbours. That's really what the story should be about.
  23. When is Iceland closing and/or M&S opening? I like the sweet chilli chicken pizza from Iceland :)
  24. Hi Sem, my phone isn't working - I've just left you a private message on here to see if you've availability early next week :) Thank you :)
  25. If you get a dr/dentist who is into "less is more" and doesn't advocate getting it done immediately - you should really have no-one notice it is done. Certainly that was my experience, I saw a vast difference myself - but when I eventually told a couple of people, they were shocked! You will be told at the beginning that you will need more frequent treatments - can't remember if it were 3 or 6 months - but that reduces over time. It's a year since my last treatment - and I miss it - it does make you feel good, depending on why you are having it done etc..
