Oh cool - I used to go there the whole time, when I was with the ex. They did fab cocktails and the owners were real nice. I hadnt gone in there for about 18 months, and when I walked in, they still remembered my fav drink!! I used always recommend the place to people... -

Did anyone else not get a polling card?
muffins78 replied to Crepe Suzette's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I got my card - but am amazed that you dont need photo ID. When I vote in Ireland, I need my card, and a photo ID. Even though I know most of the people at the polling station, they still have to check my passport etc.. This system here isnt secure at all. I have seen someone trying to rig an election in the past, even caught him red handed on the day of a local election. Thats why its SO important to have ID introduced when voting!! Luckily I was able to report him to the director of elections immediately - I was only a kid myself at the time - its still strikes me as bad - that so called politicians can get away with such deviousness. This man is still active in politics, but I have passed my story on to enough of the right people. I don't think he knows it was me that did it though. He does wonder why I don't give him the time of day - definately not wasting it on him - only when I know I need to keep a beedy eye on him. :) People like him, give a terrible name to the politicians who actually care. Its rubbish, because any other politician whom I know, are fab and actually passionate about what they do!! I always thought it would be something I would like to do, but its a tough job, its definately not a 9-5, and I dont think, no matter how much I would like to help people, that I would like to be having a quiet drink and have people approach me with their woes constantly. It also seems like a very draining career - mentally!! On the other hand, I would love to go and stand up to those awful politiicans who are milking the system, and just want their pictures in the papers! -
im confused

I use Paxton Green Group Practice and they have the telephone doctor service. But it is different to what you mention above. You can ring up from 9 for a telephone appointment with doctor, and you are put on hold for the duty doctor. The longest I have had to wait is about 10 minutes which is nothing, seeing as if you ring up for a normal appointment, you could be waiting days/weeks!! You can leave a message to get them to ring you back, and they are very prompt. If after the telephone appointment, they want to see you, you'll get an appointment for the same day!! So it works in Paxton Green - I must say I use it the whole time - and have never had a problem. Since its the first day for your surgery, they probably have some "ironing out" issues!! I hope it gets better for ye!!

There will be capital gains implications depending on when they separate. In the tax year they separate, they can still transfer assets between themselves at no gain no loss. Therefore they don't have to pay capital gains. However, from the 6th April after they separte, transfers of assets will be subject to capital gains!! Its separation and not divorce, that rules the capital gains implications. So I dont know if "moving out" will be viewed as separation - but I would get advice on this!!

Lol!!! Haha Its incredibly painful!! Tax exams - need I say more!! I'm hibernating at home with my exciting books, and glued to the laptop for light entertainment!! Cleaning has now become my favourite hobby - anything avoid the aches and pains of reading through manuals and clambering through legislation. I've decided "old" english is a language within itself!! They should have given us classes on that :-) Was just hoping that there might be someone else feeling the pain!! I am trying to remember what life was like before this - now I am wondering what I'll do when its all over... I need hobby tips - preferably hilariously - I doubt cleaning will be as exciting then when I get in from work ;-)

The house prices are really odd. The houses at either side of me are for sale, having been previously rented. House A went on the market for just under ?700K. It is a four bed house. Two of the bedrooms are tiny and this would be same layout as my house - where I cant even put a single bed in the rooms, I've used one as a boxroom and the other for clothes. So the layout isn't fantastic. It has subsequently been reduced to ?640K and now back on the rental market. House B went on the market for ?595K. It has been slightly renovated, and has three great sized doubles. Its a far better buy then House A in my opinion, even the layout downstairs works a lot better. This house hasnt been sold either. I reckon it is the estate agents manipulating the prices. (I know there are other factors which affect price e.g. length of lease remaining etc). The prices sometimes just don't add up, comparing what other properties are for sale, and even on the same road. And at what point if you are to make an offer, are you going to look like its a joke, by going way under the asking price. I didnt realise about that Buy to Let mortgage thing you mentioned above. Its that true?? I pay extortionate rent on my own, and I know a mortgage would be much cheaper. Its very frustrating that I don't have the salary multiplier (I am working on this :-) ) but can afford to pay rent way above a potential mortgage cost. I agree that if prices are to come down, many people will sit tight, and wait for the market to pick up again. On the other hand, it's really rubbish that people have worked really hard to have what they have now, and with all interest rate changes, costs of living increasing, they could lose something that they have worked so hard for!!

http://www.propertysnake.co.uk/ Hello, I have just found this site - perhaps you've seen it before - but 25% reduction on some properties. To be fair, some of them are on the market for a while!! Perhaps house prices are falling!! I did see some silly prices for one bed flats coming on the market thought!!! ?235 for a weenie one bed!!!

I didnt make it to the drinks on Friday - work took over :-( However I have an idea for the next venue and how to decide for the X amount of months!! I recall there was a poll on the forum for the best pub in East Dulwich (I think it was before Christmas). How about everyone puts forward a name of the pub/bar that the forum should go to between now and lets say, Christmas! We put all the pubs/bars into a hat, draw the first 8 and in the order they come out will be the venue for March, April, May etc.. And the forum can use this as a way to rate the pubs if they so wish :-) You never know when booking the area in the pub, they may give us something nice in return for voting them the best pub in East Dulwich :-)
