CAtalyst - you are so right!! I was thinking and thinking and I couldnt remember why Fr Ted kept creeping to mind. I kept thinking of "my lovely horse"!!! lol Susie - I think I remember that win :) or is that sad :)
-
LOL - a lot of people think that about him - i just find him honest, sympathetic and very direct in his approach. The show today was very sad - i nearly cried.. Which rose did you know?? Where do they have the competitions for the London rose?? :)

Ah thats to do with our IP addresses!! when i was doing some internet searches i stumbled across a thing where you could buy an Irish IP address - but I doubt thats legal!! The London Rose won the Rose of Tralee - thats all I know about it this year, think the family didnt see it at all.. I've written to Gerry Ryan (you can listen to him online every day) and see if he does something - woohoo :)

She has told me some really horrid and some really sad stories!! I could say, you'd be surprised at what goes on, but then again, would you be surprised at all!! I just dont get the mentality of some people, its quite sad!! -

Some bus drivers, not all - I have to say - are horrendous drivers.. I am not a cyclist, because I dont like what I see half the time - I would be scared!! I was on a bus one day, and this lady got on, now she was very elderly, the bus pulled off really fast and the lady wasnt holding on to anything as she was walking to towards a seat, she fell over on the bus!! The driver had no reason to drive so abruptly from the bus stop - I was very upset over it all!! He didnt stop or didnt apologise, he kept driving.. -
I am going to have to take the ring off when I am out and about now!! Or wear a sign on my head "available" lol!! bbKings - I hope we have an update tomorrow on this :)
-
Go and talk to the lady - she will be really chuffed!! Something similar happened my friend, she was doing her weekly shop in Sainsburys - she was waiting in line to pay - when some man came up to her with a bottle of champagne (in a sainsburys bag - with his name and number). He was rather embarassed, but said he had seen her walk around and just had to get her attention!! All the shoppers and staff near her saw it all - and were going "aawwww"!! SAndperson - is that true about the ring - I have well messed up then, I've been wearing my gran's wedding band for the last few years on my other hand!! agggghhhhh :)

Was that a funeral!! There were heaps of people and it looked like a party - even door men!! It could have been Weds/Thurs - I cant remember!! I know it was been renovated - I just assumed that it was the re-opening!!
-
Did anyone see the headlines on ITV just about 10 mins ago, saying there was a fire in Herne Hill last night - noticed that Escape Bar was been renovated - I pass it on way home from work, and saw last week that they seemed to have a big party to re-open it!! I've googled etc., and cant find anything about it!! Does anyone know what happened!!

Best place to get chips with curry sauce in ED??
muffins78 replied to ThinLizzy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its not the same - I cant find a takeaway anywhere, where the curry sauce doesnt have a good hint of gravy taste!! The nearest I can get if its not in Chinatown - is wagamama's curry sauce... -
Best place to get chips with curry sauce in ED??

Oh great - I want to try that - you cannot get any decent curry sauce here!! I do make homemade curry sauce - but it never tastes the same each time, I guess thats because I dont measure anything - but its better than some of the "gravy" like sauces out there :) Cant wait to try it!! -
It is how a dog is treated at home which affects its behavior around others.. I had a little maltese, pretty little thing, but I was completely protective of her and who would be allowed rub, hold or approach her. She had a fine temperment with everyone, but when she was little, my baby cousin (about 2) kicked her, as kids who know no better do. She wasnt a happy bunny and went to retaliate against my cousin - her natural instinct, she didnt know he didnt mean it. After that, I never let any small child approach her, Mum used to think I was over protective - but I could feel my dog tensing up.. I coudl never say for sure whether she would go to bite a small child, thinking they were going to kick her. Its up to owners to know and understand their dogs behavior, obviously sometimes you wont know if someone has done anything to your dog, but when you know your dog, you will know how its reacting in certain situations!! Thats terrible about the pug and its parents - I hope they are both okay now - it must have been a very frightening experience...

Wrongly Accused of Car Accident (in east dulwich)
muffins78 replied to brewski's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It happened my Mum when she was pulled up at a traffic lights (in ireland) - and some guy knocked at her window saying she had crashed into him - which hadnt happened. One, she had no impact, and two, there were no marks on her car. She said she would call the police and the man refused, and they swapped insurance details (long story short). Anyway, she went and had her car examined as requested with photos etc., and of course there wasnt a mark on hers. The guy never produced any photos nor did he have his car examined. So it went to court, and this man won!! It was blatantly obvious that it was an insurance scam. The insurers knew this and so did the judge, but he was let away with it because he was part of "famous" group of people - where even my mum didnt care if he won or not - of course she didnt want her own name marked - but she just didnt want to be anyway involved in this person been unhappy. Its a shame in todays world, seeing as much has come forward, that a minority still control what we do.. -
