  1. That is absolutely dreadful what happened to you and I hope that whatever routes you take will be successful. If you are concerned about approaching the mother, could you ask either the DC or PC involved in your case, to accompany you to their house? It maybe something they can do to help you?
  2. Its still circling up at the Forest Hill end of Underhill Road
  3. I've been to Kings too, both on NHS and privately, and the care and attention was excellent. I've only once had to go to A&E and the people I saw, whom the staff had to deal with, was horrible. Some were so rude etc., one even turning on me, as I was sitting there quietly waiting to be seen. There was a mix up with me that time, so I ended up in A&E for 9 hours, once the staff realised the mixup, they were fantastic about it, I wasn't even annoyed (just because I could see the rude people they had to deal with and how busy they had been), but they bent over backwards to help me. I had to remain in outpatient treatment almost daily for the next 6 months, and there is not one fault I could try to nit pick with that hospital. I'm glad the show is on, its really good. I hope it shows to all the good work they do, despite what they face and can encounter.
  4. Pugwash, I am so so sorry to hear about your little cat Gerry. I know, like many others, what its like to lose a little pet, and its just terrible. Especially to find him the way you did, not knowing what happened. As you say, at least he was put safely in your garden, so hopefully whoever it was will come forward and let you know what happened. They may not have wanted to leave a note for you and wanted to tell you in person. Again, I am really sorry about Gerry and I hope you are okay x
  5. Im not a lawyer, but under the Animal Welfare Act - I'm sure there would be a way to prosecute him. I wonder could the RSPCA help? http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/45/section/4
  6. I had a terrier (maltese) who was a massive softie - but the minute she saw a larger dog, she'd go nuts. Smaller dogs were of no interest to her. She was always on a lead, but I dont know what she thought she'd achieve by going after a huge dog!!! I agree on part about what you say its to do with the owners and how their dogs behave, some been bred to be vicious, giving other dogs a bad name. But our little dog was a little lady, our house is so quiet etc., it wasnt our behaviour around her which made her so cross when she saw a bigger dog. I dont get it. That man is completely horrible and irresponsible though, if he knows he cannot control his dogs, they should be on a lead all the time. He is not a responsible owner and the dogs should be removed from his care, if he is not looking out for them. It is in different animals nature to behave in certain ways, and if they by nature act it out, because their owner is not responsible, then I don't think dogs should be punished. I know this is not what the thread is about (dogs should be put asleep etc if they bite), it truly makes me sad to hear about dogs been put asleep because they've bitten simply because the owners are neglecting them in terms of behaviour training and/or because they are not on a lead or properly monitored.
  7. I dont know if it will help. But my Dads car was vandalized twice in as many weeks. Without going into details, they were returning to his car, because the police said they needed bits from his car for another they may be doing up. The first time they took his hubcaps. The second time they came and took some silver bits (I dont know what these were, but something to do with the doors and costs a lot to replace). So if these thieves are targeting the same types of vehicles, it may be for the same reason
  8. Thats horrific. The poor little cat. And also it is terrible that you were faced with dealing with it. I feel sick to think what pain the little cat went through. Can we say what the man looks like on here? What type of dogs he had? What he wore?
  9. Is the cat youngish? Or small? With a red collar? I've seen this cat around where I live and he/she is really friendly - I thought she may belong to my neighbours. We don't live where the cat was found though.
  10. Glad I found this!! Does anyone know anymore on this and how long its likely to continue? Probably not, anyone who knows it probably enjoying the party:) Im at the top of Underhill and its really loud, have to be up for a flight at 5!!
  11. I think I got it in the large Sainsburys before!!
  12. Hello everyone, thanks so much for your replies!! I have still not spoken to the doctor :( But the numbness has reduced a lot :) I will get some decongestents from the pharmacy - I didnt see that on the website, so thanks a million for giving me that info. I don't mind if there is side effects for a few hours, just long term damage would be my concern. I have high dose pain killers on prescription, and will pop a couple of them before I board. Mum said since, that when she spoke to the doctor she made the appointment with, she didnt ask him if it was safe to fly, but he knew I was flying with the infections and perforated eardrum, and didnt raise any concerns.. So that sounds like it could be okay... Thank you again, your advice/experience appreciated..
  13. Hello, last resort until I can get hold of someone via NHS Direct, as it is proving completely useless trying to speak to a doctor where I am registered!!! Has anyone ever flown with two ear infections and a perforated ear drum? Or indeed any of the listed :) Deaf in one ear, half deaf in the other ear, numb around ear and some of my face!! I just want to know if you have had any experiences flying with this - as there are mixed reviews on the 'net - I only realised last night after speaking to mum/friends, that it may not be the right thing to. I can see a doctor once I land, Mum has appointment booked already for me. However, I dont want to do any unnecessary damage flying in the first place. Thank you :)
  14. I have been on national rail etc., and it looks like none of the trains to city thameslink have left from original destination? Has anyone used this route today or know what it is likely to be like? I didnt travel yesterday, so dont know what happened then!! Thank you :)

  17. Hi bil, I started using the bus a few weeks ago - normally got train from West Dulwich. I can get from Dulwich Library to Fenchurch St on the number 40, anything from 40 mins to 1 hour - depends on what time i get to the bus stop at. If i get there about 7.40, I can get to Fenchurch at about 8.40. You can get a seat there, but as the journey goes towards the city, it does get really crowded. I prefer it to the train/tube etc., just sit there and listen to music/read for a hour. Actually I am more relaxed going to work now, then I was making the other journey.
  18. Hi everyone, just looking at your messages now - thank you!! I was unsure whether to report - not because I am stupid - more because of how something has been handled before. I am seeing a detective later - not about this - but will get his opinion. But for everyone else, I will report it no matter what he says - in case this guy does get braver. I have to say I was stunned at the time, but like most things which happen, I do try and play things down. And this guy will have had a surprise, because he ran up from behind, he would have not seen that I was holding my handbag strap and also held a lit cigarette there, and I think the fellow got a bit of a burn ;) He definately did not mistake me for someone he knew, he seemed quite chuffed in my opinion, and his action was very deliberate. He also would have had a view of me crossing the road towards the bus stop as he approched. To make this light after I told my mum about it earlier, she said laughing "well, was it gel or air filled" :) Thanks again, and I will report this to the police, so they can just have the incident on their books for anyone else who may report something...
  19. I was on my way to work this morning, heading the bus stop at the top of Lordship Lane past the Harvester, at about 8 am!! Its just a warning, as nothing serious happened, but as you know people can get a lot braver. Some guy who was running with headphones (think they were the big ones - not the small ones) came up behind me and grabbed my breast. He kept running and I just stood dumbfounded, he even had the rudeness to slightly turnaround and look at me. It is a small incident but I am annoyed with myself that I just froze, something similar happened to me at West Dulwich station a few years back, but that guy tried to grab me below. This I reported, because I didnt want him getting braver and doing something dreadful to someone else. I swore that no-one would touch me again without me making a fuss, but I failed on this occasion too.. He was waering navy tracksuit/running gear - he may have had a bag. He was running in the direction of Forest Hill. He looked like he was out for a jog/run or whatever, he certainly needed it.
  20. I just saw this thread - I went up to my local GPs and asked about the swine flu jab, and I was told only pregnant ladies and children under 5 were receiving it. It was the receptionist I asked about it - she of course went on to say, that you had to be on a list before you could receive it. I told her I had an underlying health condition and a supressed immune system. Has anyone else heard this from their own GPs i.e. that they couldnt have the jab yet??
  21. There is a Facebook Group - just found it - only 8 members though http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=east+dulwich+forum&init=quick#/group.php?gid=5560991239&ref=search&sid=575611385.1227045050..1
  22. Will the guys do it too?? lol
  23. There are single guys around - but they usually are the wrong types!! Or I am very unlucky!! I think the single nights are daunting for girls too (well me personally).. I did speed dating once only to support a friend (I was actally seeing someone at the time) - it was fun - but I probably wouldnt do it for myself - would definately hit a shy note... Instead of a singles night, how about a girlie night out?? I dont know about other people here, all my friends seem loved up and fail to realise that if they dont go out with me, then there is less chance that by the time the meet me again and ask "so are you seeing anyone", that the answer will be "yes"!! :)
  24. HAL9000 - thanks for adding this here - oh i am getting the hunger pains now lol
  25. The Great Wall - does anyone know where I can see a menu for it - just being googling and cant find one at all online!! I want to try it, please :)
