Sorry to sound vague and not give a street address, but if you do drive a car and have a child/kids - can you please check your car where it is parked and your doors? I don't want to give any more detail than that on the forum nor do I want to go near the car at this point. Thanks Edited - I noticed a couple of hours ago that car door was left wide open - have removed color of car from post now! At time I assumed someone bringing shopping in or something - but noticed that the car was still open a half hour ago. I've closed the door now-but car requires locking! So pls check your cars. If I've given too much information here, let me know and ill remove it!

Acas are really helpful, and may also give you key phrases etc to use - they gave me a lot of information and help that I was not expecting.

Advice on fitted wardrobes please!
muffins78 replied to JulieW's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I was looking at going to Sharps etc before, but I decided in the end to go with having them made bespoke. Rafal lubecki did them and they are really great. They have all that I wanted in them. Rafal was so quick etc., I was really pleased with how they turned out - there are lots of recommendations for him on here. -
Anti social behaviour (a man urinating)

I think it's awful someone would go to the loo like that in public - there are plenty of bars etc around, where they'd hardly be noticed if they went in and used the bathrooms without buying a drink. There could have been kids around etc., but not that i'd like to have seen it especially if the person turned around and faced me like he did to the poster. It's gross. And yes people can be bursting to go for many reasons, but if that person was behaving casually on the street then there can be no excusing it really!! -
Ha I think they still have those types of conversations with the bus drivers!! There does seen to be some type of attraction going on with Camberwell, it seems to be a popular termination point for the buses!! It might be McDonald's :) Oh what's really annoying too is that the buses that terminate early e.g at east dulwich station for instance - they take off up lordship lane then, and we're left thinking that they could have still brought us up further along our route!! Eekk!! On a positive note and it's only happened to me once, I was at the start of the 40 route from ED, the driver asked who was going as far as Aldgate and not looking to get off earlier - there was only me who said yes, he told me to get on the bus and he drove straight into London without doing any pickups - it's was the fastest journey ever - that was great service :)
-
Wouldn't be the number 40, would it? I hate when it does that, especially if no warning and I could have made another choice about my journey. To be honest, I can find it hugely stressful if I can't find a seat on the subsequent bus that I get on for various reasons... Should the bus service, having advertised that it is going to a specific destination, be made go to that destination - like the sale of goods act (or whatever it is called now), if you don't get the service advertised - it's false advertising???

Has the cats owner been found? The poor little thing doesn't look well :(

Dulwich Medical Centre - Any good?
muffins78 replied to Juliette&Rich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think that if you don't provide praise where it due, then people may become frustrated with any forward attempts they try to make. I do get what you are saying though, I still don't trust that the care I will need on a regular basis may be met, but am hoping that I am wrong too! This is not about the doctors of course, we all know that :) -

Just want to say something positive about DMC this morning as I've been quite negative in the past. I rang for a telephone appt this morning, was a bit frustrated 20 calls later (kept that to myself when I eventually got through, it's not the staffs fault), and they were running a new thing today where you could go to the surgery and see a locum, but it would be a one ailment type question thing. You would have no specific time allocated to you, just complete a form and get seen by the doctor. I thought it was a good idea especially after a bank holiday weekend where there was probably lots of people trying to see a doctor. Unfortunately I couldn't avail of this and explained to the receptionist and he was really accommodating/understanding - and has me booked in for telephone appt. It was just to say something positive as I say and I do think what they are doing today is a great idea. -
Delighted to hear that you don't have IBD and it's great you doing better and off to see the gastro'. If it's Dr Forgacs, he's fab :) I've been seeing him for the last 12 or so years. As he no longer works privately and only at Kings now, when I saw him last week, I got to meet an IBD nurse for the first time and again, was so happy/relieved leaving the hospital - even if I am rattling with my latest concoction of pills :). All I'm really trying to say, is that you will be very well looked after by them all. If you ever need any help/advice - always feel free to ask - only happy to help! But each persons idea of what helps them, may not be yours, so don't be too worried if something isn't your thing :)

Munster v Toulouse - tomorrow's game, anywhere showing it?
muffins78 replied to muffins78's topic in The Lounge
Ah thank you for that - at least speaking to them yourself, wouldn't have meant more pigeon messages back and forth trying to understand whether the game was on or not!! The Castle it is and thanks for your help:) -
Does anyone know where the Munster v Toulouse game may be shown around here tomorrow? Thank you :)

I've randomly seen this and am not best placed to answer it, as not a mum yet - but apparently I was like that as a child. Mum said she'd give me something to mind for her, that was belonging to her and smelled of her (if it was for a longer period), so that I'd know that she had to come back for it. I do remember as a small child been given her dressing gown or something, if she was going on a proper holiday for instance. So perhaps, if your little one is old enough to notice what is yours, you could keep something on you or with you that she'd recognise, and hand it to her whilst you pop to the ladies, and ask her to mind it for you - she may be too young though, so sorry if this isn't of use to you :(

Oops what I was meaning to say too, is to be careful with codeine - were you given the prescription dosage or over the counter amount? The former may cause symptoms which will not be indicative of your real symptoms. To be honest, in my experience, I avoid pain relief where possible - my situation is different as I know this is "forever" so to speak, I just am trying not to mask symptoms so I know what is really going on - even if I'm in tears etc, if I took codeine, I'd be presenting completely new symptoms to the gastro' :) Just thought I'd make you aware :)

Hi Louisa, sometimes tablets help for a short period, but don't actually cure the problem. If this is seriously getting you down or you feel that the answers you are receiving are not helping, ask for a referral to the gastroenterologist in Kings. I've got Crohns (not dissimilar to Colitis mentioned above), there are so many things that could be wrong and everyone will have different experiences, that it's best to go to the expert. I'm never "normal" health wise, I can add my tuppence worth on this, but in terms of the doctor doing bloods/samples, they'll be on the look out for infection/inflammation/bleeding etc., so they are going about it the right way, however unless someone is a specialist in terms of the digestive tract, I think it's best to go to the gastroenterologist. If you having issues with food, feel free to PM me, I've recently found a temporary way around that - which has helped me, or ask any questions, it's. no problem at all. Hope you start to improve soon.

I got steak there for first time last week and it was really good too!

I didn't know they sold Irish papers in Sainburys, that's good to know! Thank you!

Oh this is me too! My out going texts are saying failed, but apparently been sent 7/8 times and I can't receive messages! Glad to know it's not just me, thought my phone died - but had noticed it had worked in London earlier in the week. Off sick now and feel like no contact with the outside world as a result :( That might be seen as a good break too :)

I find the flour there a lot better for baking too! There's loads there!! Kimberley biscuits too
