Recently had some very tricky tiling work completed by locally based Mattias. Great guy to have around, good communicator, competitive pricing and tidy worker. He's coming back to do some new jobs and I can highly recommend his services. Mattias - 07985 538662 PS His partner is a plasterer

These guys were recommended by my plumber who couldn’t fix an issue in my bathroom but said he was impressed with Down the Drain. I can’t speak highly enough of their drain clearing services. They were punctual, professional and polite. Worked systematically to pinpoint the source of my issue and explained the problem and potential solutions clearly along the way. Compared to the previous time wasters that attended my home, Down the Drain use the latest camera technology and cleaning tools. They also have a comprehensive understanding of drainage systems and regulations in houses and purpose built blocks and provided me with a full report. Highly recommend Dave and Dave from https://down-the-drain.co.uk/

Carpet Supplier and Fitter - Dulwich Carpet Company
lozzyloz replied to Stephen Tozer's topic in Reviews
I cannot commend Stephen and his team highly enough. Excellent communication, service, workmanship and very competitive pricing. I particularly liked that Stephen clearly explains the whole process, flooring suitability and cost implications. The fitting team were a pleasure to have around. They did a flawless job, cleaned up afterwards and removed all of the old flooring. I did speak to other local suppliers but ‘The Dulwich Carpet Company’ was far more impressive. -
Thank you all again for your wonderful support this year. Great to meet so many of you for the first time and some for the second and third time as your families grow! Sadly I'm now fully booked until next year but it's not too late if you're thinking of sending someone you love a Gift Voucher for a Family Photo Session. Details here http://www.lorenzophotography.co.uk/gift-voucher/ Wish you all an amazing Christmas and New Year. Loz x

Just wanted to add to my earlier review above. I contacted Steve recently to look at a couple of window fixtures repairs not related to the previous work done. Steve came over to assess immediately and then returned a few days later to carry out the work. Excellent service and once again I'm extremely satisfied with his window repair service.

Screen painting and T-Shirt printing parties at Captured on the Rye are so good we did them twice. Our 6 and 8 year olds loved them, Lou is amazing!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the families I've met and photographed with babies, toddlers and children this year. It's been lovely to meet and work with you all and I hope you've found the sessions as much fun as I have :) My apologies to those that have been in touch recently only to discover that I'm fully booked until the end of January 2015. I do try to fit in as many families as possible but demand has been extremely high this year. However, it's not too late if you'd like to buy your loved ones a Gift Voucher for Christmas http://www.lorenzophotography.co.uk/gift-voucher/ Thank you again and wishing you all a fab Christmas and New Year! Loz x

My 8 year old son has been playing it for several months now and is totally engrossed by it! I agree about the creativity and educational values. Kids are always going to be playing some computer game or other these days and I prefer this than some of the alternatives out there. Ultimately we try and limit the time he plays and for those wondering, he does manage to fit it in with swimming, football, flute, homework and the occasional conversation at breakfast. The thing to watch out for are the Youtube video demo's. Some do contain language not quite suitable for his age. It's not explicit and I'm sure he hears much worse at school but you do need to keep an ear out. Incidentally I read worse in a Charlie Higson book he picked up in the children's section at the library and was kindly pointed out to me by his teacher. Oops! He's also read several Minecraft books which I've looked at and they are brilliantly constructed on many levels. He doesn't rate the ipad version and plays it on an old MacBook mostly in constructor mode or one to one with a school friend.

Second that. We're half way through having ours done and Steve and his team have been a delight to have around. Hard working, punctual and very tidy. Job not finished yet but I can see that they're doing a very professional job.

Any body know a good piano teacher for a 13 year old.
lozzyloz replied to mpd's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I can also recommend Lorraine @ SE22 Piano School. Long established in Dulwich and has probably taught hundreds of students. Lorraine is also very involved with Piano Festivals, Recitals and music charities. Brilliant teacher! -
Another kids party activity worth considering is the T-Shirt printing and Splash Painting @ http://capturedontherye.com we had a party there for our 6 year old and a bunch of his friends and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots to keep them occupied and Lou who runs it was brilliant. Highly recommended!

Hockney at the Dulwich Picture Gallery
lozzyloz replied to merylmcmillan's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Definitely worth being a member of FoDPG. Always have great exhibitions and it seems to be going from strength to strength. They could do with more younger members too! Here's some photo's from the Whistler and Hockney shows. http://flic.kr/s/aHsjUsjpXy -
Thanks Huggers. He's got a really good eye and his prices are cheaper than shops as he buys and sells from home. If you're looking for a specific cabinet, sofa, table or chair he'll find it for you. Another good site is http://junkdeluxe.co.uk/

My brother-in-law sources and supplies Danish Furniture. I've bought 2 sofas from him in the past. Here's his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/rosewoodandteak (based in North London)

Good luck Mark. I hope it's a big success. I think a venture like yours can only be a positive thing for the area, informing people about local issues.
