  1. Monica - thats fab you are doing your MSc....don't look back (easier said than done at times I know). You will have such a sense of achievement and I am sure it will bring you happiness and open new doors!!! For sure!! Studying is a great distraction it really is but a worthwhile one at that!! Best of luck to you xxxxx

Mr Barber - I haven't seen anything about it except on this forum. (Maybe its the lack of mail delivery in the area but don't recall seeing anything advertised on LL either). Sorry if this is a stupid question but do you know who is responsible for organising the public consultation, presumably they are driving the process...and organised the Palmerston event (sadly not well attended/representative of the community.) Pardon my ignorance but are all public consultations held on Goose Green then and if so, any idea when? Thanks for your help.
  3. agree its very difficult to adjust to being recently single esp after a long-term relationship. Throw yourself into work/go out with friends/try new things...anything to divert attention from your ex will help! Elliekp, it WILL get better. (Looking back a long time ago) my ex left me after a 10 year relationship at 26 and I felt my world had ended, it really hurt at the time but I realise afterwards he had ultimately done me a favour; I plucked up the courage to go back to uni for evening study (something I couldn't do whilst in the relationship). It probably won't feel like it yet but in my experience the end of a relationship can open new (better) doors elsewhere. Hope to meet you at one of the forum drinks if I ever make it too, not forgetting the walks round the park :)) xxxx

However, I can't say the same for > a chicken tikka lasagne - there's something > terribly terribly wrong there. thanks RosieH for that info - good to know, I hope you are right about the animals having more space under the UK accreditation! applespider, I totally agree with you, have no qualms about paying more if its going to the right place, thank you for the info. I love Blue Mountain, so individual and refreshing. Where I used to live it was sad to see the local, independent cafes lose business to the (no less than 3) big coffee chains who moved in and took over the high street. I think ED is great for coffee! xx
  6. ...Sausage, Leek Appreciation, Cauliflower, Chilli, Chocolate, Running, Cycling, Mustard....who chooses the dates for these? Is there some sort of National Committee? Not that I'm complaining....
  7. Emily - so sorry to hear of this ordeal. I hope Woody makes a very speedy recovery. Sorry I cannot help with identification, just wanted to send my best wishes as I love dogs and feel sad about what has happened. Those irresponsible owners have a lot to answer for! I hope you manage to prosecute and that things work out in your favour. All the best, xxxxx
  8. Yes - two deliveries in one thread. Lucky us. Computedshorty I salute you Sir. I will even give you a tip. woofmarkthedog Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > See > > > Ask & he delivers ( where's the Messeschmitt > though ? ) > > > > W**F
  9. HonaloochieB - i meant to say that I agreed with the original post which got me to read the thread in the first place...as I voted for them back then too :'( ...didn't intend to divert attention from the real scumbags of the year. *goes off to think about small things*
  10. Indeed - he could.....but he could possibly get a bit fed up if he loses. Personally, I'm very fond(ue) of the Swiss...
  11. people who say Scotch instead of Scottish - tee hee :)) (today my brain cannot work out whether this checks the rational or irrational box)
  12. Declan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > > Never had one, but sources tell me it was invented > in Fortnum & Mason in 1851. A long way from > Scotland. Yeah I am sure I heard that too...where did I read that recently?? I think people also dislike Murray due to the 'anyone but england' comment (agree - this was not very nice and not a view shared by all Scots - or Scotch if you wrongly insist..). Lets see how he fares tomorrow against the wonderful Fed. I'm off for lunch...lets see if ED cafes do a line in scotch eggs...(ugh - joking...eggs yuk sausagemeat yuk)
  13. yes I feel sure that computedshorty will be the authority you need on this thread...where is he when you need him? :)
  14. To me - for not tipping the guys who delivered my furniture last weekend struggling up narrow stairs and having to take doors off etc etc (don't know why I didn't have the money ready) :(

    The Irony!

Good Afternoon Lounge - well seems like a lot of milk we get in the UK is from cows that have never grazed on grass/ ever been outdoors...so I am not sure what brands you expect the coffee shop to use. I suspect milk from many shops ranging from Waitrose - Iceland is not that different unless it says from blah blah whatever Dairy or (does organic mean the cow has been raised outside or simply been fed organic feed in one of these intensive milking farms....I don't know). I enjoy Blue Mountain's coffee and agree with the others the pricing will reflect the coffee costs rather than the milk. The low carbon footprint from BMountain to Iceland must be applauded tho?;-) davidC Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Blue Mountain Cafe buys it's Milk from ICELAND.... > brilliant! 18. Love Rafa, like Murray - I would have been happy with either outcome. Both great, entertaining players to watch. Andy hasn't dropped a set yet and may it continue. Oh but roll on my favourite tournament in the UK!! :))
  19. scoop Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And an amazing Ice cream parlour near East dulwich > station, where as well as selling remarkable > Italian Ice cream does the best coffee in the > area, so I'm told!:)) I thoroughly concur with the above on the great coffee (best I have tried..so far) AND yummy ice cream :)) E. Dulwich has a great variety of local shops rather than chain stores..not sure where to start...SMBS, Franklins, William Rose, Boss Man, Balfe's bikes all get my vote so far. The vintage shops and galleries around Northcross Road are lovely (as well as a fabulous, unadorned, wall!) You will never be short of choice for (N) Indian cuisine on Lordship Lane. The park is fab. The museum is fab. The forum is fun. Hope you love it here too. xx
  20. So so sorry to hear this sad news. I walked past that area this morning around 8ish and it was obvious there had been an accident on the road but I had no idea of this tragic outcome. Very shocked and saddened about this. xxxxxx

Almost as annoying as a > smiley at the end of every sentence. Maybe if you have been using internet forums for a while...perhaps it gets tiring/tedious. (personally don't know as I have never used them until now) I enjoy it when people express an *action*, how its done is often very clever and funny too. Several people have made me laugh out loud using them on their postings and it didn't detract from their words in any way. Everyone is entitled to their own posting style hey? This place wouldn't be as rich or varied without it. Vive la *actions* and the occasional :)
