  1. titch juicy - Lucky Chip are opening a place in Soho called Slider Bar. And MeatMarket opens soon in Covent Garden. Same people behind Meatliquor but the venue style is more that of fast food joint rather than restaurant. There's a new app called burgerapp which is released tomorrow, I think - all about where to go for good burgers in London. PS god knows why but a good burger is just fab. Deffo to do with the cheese, bun, burger combo. And gherkin. But never, ever bacon on top.
  2. ban short people (ahem) from carrying umbrellas in the street.

    the 1970s

There was a programme about the 1970s on a few saturdays ago which was funny it featured space hoppers, the banana splits and toys called clackers. Also some show rider who stuck two fingers up at the crowd after competing and he lost the prize money. Lots of women in hot pants and high boots dancing, can't remember much else to be honest.
  4. Brixton Regis. Aaaanyway, I couldn't be bothered to queue for Meatliquor in the evenings but I'd urge anyway to try it for late lunchtime midweek as its fab. Really juicy burgers and not that much more expensive than a macdonalds meal deal. Of course, who doesn't prefer their own home-cooked burgers after you've hand reared the animal from birth etc etc...
  5. Don't forget fleischmob - austrian meats, frankfurters and pork at Brixton market.
  6. Handsome, witty and intelligent I thought...good taste in curry.

Presumably you are factoring in your OWN time here as well *Bob*. Just asking.
  9. Never been to Bookmonger in Brixton but it sounds like its worth a visit Ms B. Am currently reading 'A Gentleman of Leisure' and can't help but imagine HonaB as a fully paid up member of the Strollers' Club... the pleasantest club in New York, comfort without pomp is its motto.

  12. I thought I was seeing things this Easter weekend in London, the sight of two Scotsmen leisurely sipping some damn fine-looking cocktails on Lordship Lane of an afternoon B) ED has been eerily quiet in a nice end-of-term careless kind of way. On the plus side, no traffic hell. Curry houses busy. Planes and foxes still noisy as ever. And yippee, its raining (tu)
  13. Forget about Good Friday Netts, did you have a good Palm Sunday?

  18. yes, its definitely foxes making that blood-curdling screaming noise during the night.
  19. Aha all becomes clearer now HMB. However, now that the bendy 12 has been replaced by fare-paying buses on Barry Barry Road I suspect the need to ahem, police the buses, will be made somewhat redundant this year ;-)
  20. Haggerston is cheap I hear.
  21. Can't divulge details am afraid. But akin to drowning a sack of fluffy kittens.

Or get those gorgeous hard-backed cookbooks that each specialise in cuisines from around the world (as they like food and travel). Can't remember book titles offhand but there's a series of them and they're beautifully photographed with simple, authentic recipes from each country.
  23. Jalfrezi jasmine with a burn time of approx 10 hours.
