  1. Moos, BBM is short for blackberry messenging (for 'free' instant chat/file sharing with other blackberry contacts). *disclaimer I h8 txt spk 2 & I ws jkng...hnst.

Really? I hate texting. Much prefer to pick up the phone and er, leave voicemail :))
  4. Of course it was. SJ got it spot on. Politicians have material written for them by speechwriters and their political advisers. Getting the figures wrong when reading out a statement is hardly news. Nor is the rahrahrahing from the ones that haven't picked up that he's given the wrong figure. Didn't one Minister famously almost read out the line 'pause for laughter' when giving a speech? Hilarious.

  6. I didn't watch it Tom but sadly I don't think there's anything new about unscrupulous people making money from the vulnerable and preying on their hopes and dreams. All those I know from the 'get rich quick' brigade who bought up lots of buy-to-let properties are now struggling and I wonder was it really worth it. I think to have one home, one roof over your head is all that you need but then again, we are all different and our circumstances change. Some people can thrive on paying Peter to pay Paul and juggling mortgages, cards and so on but I am not one of them and couldn't deal with the stress of looking over my shoulder constantly. I guess if its important for you to be financially rich then you'd go to whatever lengths you could to achieve it but some of the advice out there is strongly suspect. I would probably have felt very sorry for the people who had spent their savings on the courses you mention.
  7. arguing on the internet. my stepdad. Brussels. designer labels. so-called 'celebrities'.
  8. Ibilly be off with you, take your Bono-hating ways (jealous, I think so) and your austerity dining kakuni with you. You've got your own thread for Bono-haters and if anyone's got enough reason, its surely me.
  9. Ah yes, Koya - that renowned purveyor of the finest burgers to be had in the capital, nay, the world. Silly me.

Thomas Micklewright Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- It would be great to > see pro-hunters there for a balanced discussion. > Hope you can all make it, Tom - if you do a search, you'll find there's a previous thread asking if there are any hunters in East Dulwich. There weren't. And not many of the pro-hunting persuasion either. So am not sure if you're likely to get a 'balanced discussion' going. I know you are really passionate about animals and their welfare but I'd love to see you start a thread about something else too.
  11. Well....there's a huge surprise. Did you hear that East Dulwich? Edited to add: I'm sure they don't play U2 and what exactly is 'recession chic' anyway?
  12. Same here Jeremy. Don't really fancy queuing around the block no matter how good it is.* Just read a burgerac review of it and they serve cocktails in jam jars.... somehow made me think of the Actress/wine tumblers debacle :)-D * I'm not worthy, I know.
  13. This whole thread is a nasty piece of work. If Dr Gupta or any staff from DMC are reading it, they'd probably be quite shocked and indignant about it. I have only been at DMC for the last few years and can say that I have always got through to their reception, and they've always been professional and helpful. I thought of this crazy thread whilst changing my appointment by telephone this morning. Credible forumites posting their experiences I will find useful and take heed of but this, nah.
  14. So have any forumites been to Meat Liquor and if so, what's your verdict? I had heard about it opening from two of the food blogs I follow, both have given it (tu) (one less predictably so) I've got high hopes for the food being good although I have to confess, like some others above, I really dislike the name of the place. Am supposed to be going along later this week so any menu recommendations appreciated, cheers.

    strike

d_c, Otta and Straferjack from page 1 of this thread reminding me of the type of posts that lured me into this forum in the first place. Very, very well said and best of luck to ontheedge and all others on strike next week.
  17. Maybe it means you are straight talking and tell it like it is rather than superficial and tell people what you think they'd like to hear? Or you don't pretend to be something you're not? Like WYSIWYG I'd say it sounds like a compliment anyway.

    Killjoys

Here we go again! Is this why you keep starting new threads about it? Is there any great barrier for people that would like to see that type of content on a forum from starting their own one? I also think its pretty rude to call people killjoys when they're the ones that have to make decisions over how this place is run and have invested their own time in doing so.
  19. The sad thing is, its not a bot.

It wasn't an insinuation on my part LM, merely a polite enquiry. Glad to hear its been put to good - and frequent - use. Even if its just on the bus.
  21. Is your crutch still in good condition after waving it around in all that traffic or is it looking a little worse for the wear?

    Shale gas

Don't worry about not being up to speed on shale gas extraction methods and risks. There are so many knowledgable people in East Dulwich who will be only too happy to go through it with you. I'd love to help but I'm meeting friends for lunch shortly.

Where do they use those then? Certainly not at DMC on Crystal Palace Road that's for sure. Excellent service too in my experience.

Oh wait... are you talking about the very same 'other party' who er, wasn't going to post anymore except on their own thread as well as distance their private life from the edf? Right.
