  1. i woke around 7.30 this morning opened my back door to let the animals out and went off to deal with my kids, morning routine breakfast and milk for baby then mine and my sons turn. i went off and ate my breakfast then fell asleep with my baby on sofa. i awoke to my husband yelling at me, wheres my bag and whys the champagne been taken off the shelf. i had no idea what he was talking about so went to investigate. we had been burgled :( someone walked into my home stole a handful of stuff ie, camera, ?300 sunglasses, x3 watches, bottle of expensive whiskey, a bag to put it all in, PSP. i was sat in my front room and no more than 2 seconds away from me someone was robbing me. i called the police, crime investigators came out but no prints. police came at 3pm and apparently 2 doors away from me had been burgled too. this has terrified me, i certainly dont want sympathy just wanted to let people know that this happened on ivanhoe road and i dont want it happening to others, 2 houses is enough.
  2. my boy came home yesterday evening telling me he had a row with another lad of which he turnt to making pig noises and the other boy said something back so both got put into a 3hour saturday detention, now i agree the school need to knuckle down but none of you can surely tell me this is resonable grounds for a 3 hour detention.
  3. my son goes to his school and although i think they are a good school my son hates it, they are extremely strict. i know of a few parents who are trying to move there kids out of there, i am also looking at moving my son. hes only in year 7 and he dreads going in. hes being picked on by a group of boys and the teachers have been told yet they dont seem to do anything about it. there very quick to punish about silly little things like talking in line and forgetting homework yet boys get away with bullying and when my son faught back he got a 2 hour detention with 3 day isolation. there morals seem good but underneath im not so sure. there too regimental. these boys were children 1-2 years ago my boy has grown up too quick and is afraid to do anything at school incase he gets in to trouble. the detention bit and the isolations are my concerns because they are too quick to punish. my son was put into isolation a few days ago for being rude to another lad, THERE BOYS there going to be rude to one another. well thats my opinion anyway. if you want to know more by all means pm me, please dont misread this i do think there a good school but i think they are extrememly strict now for some children thats needed but mine is very sensitive and it really doesnt suit him.
  4. not sure if its linked but i now have a police cordon and the end of bromar road.
  5. my husband has just gone to the drs and has seen that there are men in white suits (crime scene people) outside mark and sons newsagents on grove vale. theres also police scattered all the way up the road up till sainsburys. the park and sainsburys are still shut.
  6. oh brilliant, im due the 25th july. nice to have somewhere to chat
  7. this is exactly why i have put this on here, cctv is useless. so what we do now is use this place to warn people of where things are happening. i know of a few people i have spoken to over the past few days that have had the same thing happen to them both in primark, 99p stores and peacocks. i suggest as a community we get wiser and learn from each other. its the only way of beating these petty thieves.
  8. sue my bag had a zip and an inside one yet they still got into it. it is scary to think what people will do, my hand never left the buggie at all, at least one hand was on it at all times and yet they went under me carefully and got to it. i agree katie i think the bags you mentioned are the best but no bag is better :) i wont be travelling around with money on me like that again nor will i travel with so much stuff on me full stop. i do like the idea that nero has given so if and when i start trusting the world again with regards to my purse and belongings i will use this idea. seems like the only safe solution. thank you all for your kindness but again i never wanted sympothy or anything like that, i just couldnt bare this happening to someone else.
  9. and thank you steve but im not asking for sympathy, im not asking for anything other than people seeing what is going on. its all i wanted to do. it was my own stupid mistake but as a community i thought i would share what had happened so that it doesnt happen to anyone else
  10. i never left it unattended thats why i have posted this. i have no problems with primark, and the security man actually said its a common thing happening in there, which is why i have made a point of putting this on here.
  11. yes she was and wide awake.
  12. Thought i would put this on here so that it doesnt happen to anyone else. earlier today i took my neice in her buggie into primark in peckahm, not used to having a buggie and not being aware of what goes on around i naturally left my handbag on the buggie, i went round and done all the shopping i needed, got to the til to find my bag open and purse GONE!!!! ?100 cash, bank cards the lot. i cannot believe it!!!! on top of this i must add i am 7 months pregnant. i came home, phoned all the necessary people and got told by my credit card company that whoever stole it where trying to use it at a cash point in peckham several times, luckily only getting away with ?20 from it. plus they had tried using it in argos, i stupidly had kept the pin number for that particular card in my purse becasue i could never remember it. i cannot believe this has happened, im normally so careful with my bag. just my luck!!!!
  13. ive seen Jo Brand several times in sainsburys on dog kennel hill as well as Daniel Beddingfield back in his days.
  14. thank you so much
  15. does anyone know what car linda henry (shirley carter from eastenders)drives? ive seen her in it but cannot remember what car she has. this is really bugging me now
  16. i recently brought the lottie ladybird playmat and just wondered if it can be washed and how? this may sound very silly but i brought it second hand and has no labels on it that i can see to tell me if it can. any help is appreciated
  17. as far as i see it, the children have to be kept safe and that is not possible to do when they are in a park, safeguarding the children is the main priority!!! there are too many rules in place regarding keeping children safe for them to just use the park, the school would be shut down within weeks. they would have to close the park off to ensure the safety. i think being that it is a new school, they want to get there reputation up to high standards, there is no way they would use the park.
  18. i dont think they could do sports in the park anyway as it would go against the safeguarding procedures that would be and should already be in place. my step son is due to go there in september and it looks to be very nice, as i understand it they will be using other places such as south bank sports ground, its not made very clear.
  19. is the school not using london south bank sports ground for this?? it does say on the website in the parents zone they are using this, it is also in the information part, it does say however its for 2009/2010.
