  1. our daughter had her first settling in day today for 2 hours and although she was upset when my wife left she was happily playing when she returned 2 hours later. she was also impressed again by the staff who were aware that our daughter was coming and made every effort to make my wife feel comfortable about leaving her in their care. I hope tomorrow goes as well as today.
  2. Minder, Granted that was a bit strong, I retract it. PRose, Will join up.
  3. I don't have an issue with paying my share of the repairs. It's the fact I'm served with a bill for 27k and told I have limited options to appeal against it by council employees at the consultation meeting.
  4. Hi, we are sending our daughter there as of next week so I went for a viewing last week. Have to say I thought the place was impressive, staff all friendly and the kids seemed very happy. i like that it is an old school and all on 1 level and they are planning on getting chickens (my daughter likes chickens!) I don't have much experience of nurseries as my wife has done almost all of the research but she was also pleased and thinks more of it than the other 2 or 3 she has visted.
  5. Hello Lousmith, I have also been served with a bill from Southwark council for a major Works contract and am in the process of organising with my fellow leaseholders some way of holding the council to account for their propossed works. It seems that Southwrk council have now decided after years of neglect that they will throw 800K at the building and expect the leaseholders to cough for their share whilst the tennets will be free of any charges, how can this be resonable..? Are we expected to pay for the social welfare through our taxes and then again through a service charge because we don't rely on the state to put a roof over our head. We are getting a consultation from someone who does this sort of thing for a living so will be interested to see if he thinks we have a case to bring.
  6. As A Southwark council leaseholder I have just been informed that a Major Works will be carried out on my block and I am obliged to pay my share to the tune of 27K...!!!! Does anyone else have experience of this..?
