6mths after giving birth to my baby, all my joints still ache. This really effects my sleep, even more than the baby does. I'm led to believe this will stop when I stop breastfeeding. But that's potentially another 6mths away. Has anyone found any solution or way to ease this?

Thai food doesn't use soy too much, I ate a lot of Thai. The deliverance pad Thai (tell them to leave out the egg) is yum. -

Dairy/Soya/Egg Free Recipes

The below meal is delicious, also good for dieters. Also, Gwyneth Paltrows cookbooks are loaded with ideas as her family are intolerant to a lot. The below recipe is yum and 300 cals for half. The below amount feeds two so double up if needed. Chicken Kapama Mix some flour, cinnamon, salt, pepper. Mix enough to cover two raw chicken fillets with it so no sticky raw chicken is left. Heat glug olive oil. Sear chicken breasts for 1 min each side and set aside. Add to now empty original pot- finely chopped white onion. Soften for 2mins Add 2 bulbs chopped garlic, soften for 1 min Add carton or can of chopped tomatoes Add half mug of chicken stock Add a tsp sugar or glug of maple or honey to remove bitterness of tomato (to taste) Add sprinkle of cinnamon (to taste) Put chicken back in Put pot in oven, covered on 100c ish for 2hrs Eat with lump of crusty loaf -
We are off to croatia for ten days with our 6mth old. Our buggy is too big to travel with. Has anyone ever purchased a cheap travel stroller they would recommend?
-
Has anyone ever been? Is it weird being in their actual house?
-
Great thanks, we love them. Although you do get a startle the first time you spot them.

You seem to know lots lousmith. Should I just leave them to their own devices? Or if they are at potential risk, should I move them to a safer area of the garden? I believe handling them can burn their skin so you should always wet your hands first?
-
No way?! Is that true? We have loads of them! Our garden is like the playboy mansion. No we don't have a pond, nor do any of our neighbours as far as I can see. They come every year, loads of them. No idea why they like our place. Our ninety year old neighbour says it has always been that way.

Spotted 9 frogs in our garden this evening. 4 yesterday. Two of which got into the house and hid behind the dishwasher until the dog alerted us. They all have little baby frogs on their backs. Pretty cute. See pic attached.

Yep, also seen the return of the dreaded moth a few weeks ago.

Hello, I did not have a good experience at kings. Nor did three other mums in my nct group so perhaps things have changed. Initially there were no rooms so I was sat in triage. When I got a room it had a standard bed in it, 20hrs into labour they turned up with a far more comfortable and secure labour bed. They had to roll me from one to the other mid contraction. The monitors were attached to me with knotted elastic and the knots dug into my swollen belly. I was told there was no alternative. After 20hrs with no pain relief, it became a bit much and i asked for an epidural. it took 6hrs before i was given one. None of the midwifes knew each other and their handovers were far from comprehensive, leaving my husband to pass on important information. My room also contained a store cupboard which many medical staff frequented. I am not exaggerating when I say I saw at least twenty people visit my room for supplies. There isn't enough equipment so randoms kept coming in my room and taking my drip stand, my husbands only chair etc. My husband suffered severe back pain as he was lifting me from bed to bed etc as the hospital preferred to let him do it. He even had to show one of the midwives how to work the scan machine. I agreed to donate cord blood but my placenta was placed in a carboard kidney dish on the floor, left until it went brown and a new midwife declared it was no longer sanitary. The stories about the two days i had to spend on ward after are too many to recount. The other stories I have heard from recent births (nov/dec 2012) are similar. Oh, and contrary to bluesuperted, I was not allowed to hold my baby whilst being stitched and had to wait an hour for skin to skin contact, even though I protested and afterwards my midwife said this wasn't the correct practice.

Yeah, I wasn't commenting on the fairness. Just giving other parents a heads up so they don't get caught short like us.

We love the Actress pizzas and there are always plenty of children and babies in there in the early evenings to make us not feel too bad bringing ours in for dinner. However, went tonight and there are now signs up saying no children after 7.30pm. Such a shame. We are going to have to move on to the Great Exhibition, a little further up the road instead for dinner with baby.

I-escape is a fab site with kids section on travel. We've stayed at three hotels recommended by them and never been let down. We've been back to hotel Puig in Majorca four times.

We are going to Croatia with our 6mth old in June. We are staying here http://www.lafodiahotel.com/en/hotel.php?id=19 They can arrange private taxi and boat transfers from the airport to the hotel in just over an hour. There are lots of islands, but we are staying on Lopud because it has a sandy beach and is a car free island. Just a few golf carts to get about on.

living across the road from a primary school
yeknomyeknom replied to nikki73's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We live opposite a school. Generally fine but if you like to lie in past 9am on a weekday, forget it. The generators can be a little loud. Sometimes they leave lights on which shine in the room at night. Not a biggy, we like it all in all. -
Hi, I'd like to find out more. Does anyone know if they have a website? Can't find one.
-
I've been told cutting tt can help with wind as well as feeding. Has anyone noticed this?
-
Hmmm, good to know, thanks hellosailor
-
Mine is 3 mths old. He breastfeeds ok, but messes around occasionally. They suspect the tt might be effecting him getting enough milk as I have a suspected undersupply.
-
Thanks guys. Disadvantage being I assume its a bit painful for baby and want to avoid if possible, but sounds like it might be worth it.
