  1. What temperature is the room?
  2. Chiggers knocking the door at 8.15pm! Ice cream van at 7.30pm! What the hell is wrong with these people?
  3. Anything off firebox
  4. I like this snurk astronaut bedding https://www.snurkbeddengoed.nl/astronaut?size=851. Also the Dino-hopper on amazon. Stompeez slippers are good fun. The ukayed wiggle car (amazon) is great value.
  5. Hi, what do they have out in the way of entertainment for little ones?
  6. I took my ten mth to the first session. It wasn't too busy. But there's only really balls for them at that age. Mine got bored after ten mins.
  7. My family stayed at the Victoria Inn on Bellenden rd. Reasonable rates.
  8. Thanks Convex. You are quite right. Jojo had the ideal product for only ?20. Called a Hoodie. Link below: http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+infantino-hoodie-all-seasons-carrier-cover-in-baby-carriers+b1063
  9. Bloomchen mentioned MaM but I couldn't find it on Amazon. However, Snowboarder, that site you recommended also has the MaM which looks like what I am after. Thanks everyone! http://slumber-roo.co.uk/product/126/mam-deluxe-cover//babywearing-accessories
  10. Thanks everyone! I am really hoping to wear my own existing coat but just pop something cosy over the top of the baby sling. The bjorn one mentioned above would be perfect but it fastens at the top on two little hooks that my sling doesn't have.
  11. Does anyone know of a universal sling cover? I'm finding it a pain to pile layers of clothes on my baby for a short walk around the block. It would we great if there were some kind of fleecy thing I could fit over the sling instead of layers of clothes. Waterproof would be a bonus. Obviously I could use a blanket but its not draft proof and slips off.
  12. Hi, my little boy will be 1 soon. I have a few ideas for presents but I'm not a believer in going crazy at this stage as his favourite toys tend to be socks and leaflets! I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of a good toy to buy at this age, that they really grow to love and use as they develop?
  13. ?5 an hour is far too cheap!
  14. Yeah I love it too. Just bought her book. She offers sensible, realistic solutions.
  15. I've never been but there is a cheeky chimps soft play in Kennington. Another different idea for play nearby is Vauxhall petting zoo.
  16. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm saving the spa ideas for next time when it's cold outside. I had my day yesterday. I went to Southbank. I bought papers and magazines to Pain Quotidien and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Then I walked along the River to BFI where I had a cheeky Buck's Fizz and read my book. I had lunch at Canteen where I spotted Christopher Ecclestone aka Dr Who. Then I crossed over the bridge at Embankment an walked up to Picadilly Wholefoods to get some nice bits and bobs for the weekend. Then got the bus home. It was lovely. My husband spent his day getting a wet shave and hair cut in Dulwich Village then train to London Bridge, then walked to Bread St for lunch, then the Tate and finally Namco Arcades on Southbank. We know we are lucky to have these days. Any other ideas greatfully received.
  17. Thanks Enjoy, some great ideas there! Ann, yes we are lucky. My husband has worked with the same company for 13yrs and earned a great holiday allowance, so we are fortunate. of course we love our family days too, we have our family days each weekend :)
  18. Thanks Strawbs. I'm thinking of avoiding apts for my day, just because I got my hair done last time at the start of the day and really hated the cut. It kinda ruined the whole day. I wish I had a friend close by!! Sleep and a bath sounds amazing!
  19. We have a little baby which as you know is all consuming at times. Each month my husband takes two days off work. One day he has the little one and I head out, the next day I have the little one and he heads out. Neither of us bring our phones or ipads, just a book to really tune out. Last month I went shopping in town and to the cinema. My husband went to southbank when it was still sunny. Maybe V&A. We are looking for ideas for this month. I'm thinking of copying hubby with southbank but it might not be as nice in the rain. Town was a nightmare and I feel like I wasted my day last time. Any ideas, or areas where you think a whole day could be pleasantly spent would be great.
  20. I had one but I didn't find it worked very well. Ended up chasing ingredients around the bowl.
  21. I have a great big blender for cooking etc but I'm after a small, quick and easy to use blender for baby food or very small portions or blending say a few garlic cloves. I did buy one on amazon on customer recommendations but its too big. The blade sits above a garlic clove for example and just lops the odd bit off. Anyone have a decent one they would recommend?
  22. My sister caught this. I tried to convince her to use a more humane method but no joy. Does she have mice or rats? What do we think?
  23. Hi, has anyone been to this place in Kennington? I believe they have a designated area for babies so they don't get crushed by the more rambunctious toddlers. Has anyone been and seen it? Is it any good?
  24. I agree. The forum can be a scary place sometimes. Sometimes I rethink a simple post and re-read it several times, just to make sure no one will jump in and criticise it in some way. Many times I have seen a nice simple post start out only for some regular names to say something sarcastic or belittling in response. The family discussion area isn't like this at all though.
  25. Not by the sea but by a lovely lake, Slovenia, lake bled is gorgeous. Only ten minutes from the airport. There is lots of cheap accomodation including a campsite with glamping huts.
