  1. Roast would be perfect but they are all booked. thanks for other suggestions anon
  2. Going tonight. Eating out with a fussy eater. She likes regular, english fare so the Shard is out. Doesn't need to be fancy. She has suggested All Bar One but I don't get out often and fancy something with some more personality. Any ideas?
  3. I just read about this company and it sounds great. Unfortunately they don't cover East Dulwich yet. Hey will do once there is enough demand so sign up if you think it would be good. You can download the app or look at www.quiqup.com Their bumpf is: Calling all lazy busy Londoners, this app could change your life! Quiqup will deliver anything you need straight to your door - with no fuss, no minimum order, just a small delivery charge. And by anything, we mean ANYTHING: a burger from Shake Shack (skip the queue!), a birthday card for your mum, your dry cleaning, takeaway from your favourite restaurant, shampoo from Boots, your morning coffee and more. Leaving the house is so last year.
  4. Great news. Turning into a little foodie haven up that way. Good luck!
  5. Shoppable do. Great princess duvet cover with tiara pillow. Other places sell it too but shoppable seem to be the cheapest.
  6. I clicked on this post thinking it was about some new xmas toy fad or something. I can't believe Grinling Gibbons is the name of a school. It's great. Like something out of Harry Potter.
  7. Hi Jenny, I find young children are willing to belive anything is a treat if it is sold to them in the right way. Perhaps you could try to combine giving your girl time alone with you as well as illustrating the positives of having a little brother. Maybe "did you know Santa's Elves are the best boys and girls there ever were? If you are a good girl for the rest of the day (or whenever), I will convince the elves to let you help me wrap baby brothers xmas presents. You can pick from sparkly silver or pink and we can sprinkle fairy dust inside each one. But first you have to prove to the elves you are good like them". Or some other such story. Teaches her about giving, not just receiving, teaches her to do something nice for her brother and hopefully be good aswell. Maybe make a magic elf box full of sparkles and glitter and if she is good she gets to wrap one present for her brother that day. That way you can eek it out. Meant to add, it would be just you and her wrapping the present when baby is asleep or with a relative etc. this way the real prize is special time with her mummy.
  8. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully Tuesday's will stick around as we love them!
  9. Mothercare on old kent rod were selling them last time I looked. I used a kids rubber swing ring from argos. Did the job.
  10. We have good double glazed windows and condensation is still a problem.
  11. Hi Mutrik, Have you checked your catchment areas first? I only say this because depending on where you live, it's unlikely you are within the catchment area for both these schools. So you may not have a choice.
  12. Interesting that no one has posted on the old link about the Picturehouse since it got lounged.
  13. How about a kids karaoke machine? Usbourne books have a Disney princess Boxset on the book people website that's reasonable price and Frozen is one of the books. What about one of those little girl teepees?
  14. We had this problem sorted just before we sold our old place. We had lived with it for 3 yrs. in the end it was surprisingly cheap and we were gutted we hadn't had it done sooner. Sorry I can't remember who did ours but do pursue it.
  15. Yep I enquired about a stall for women's clothing, fashion led as opposed to vintage or crafty. Not allowed.
  16. I'm not veggie but one of my fave sandwiches is avocado and pesto. Yum. Try it peeps.
  17. Do you bother with the micro mini with the weird black round handle? Or did you find your two year old was fine with the regular metal handle?
  18. Hi, sorry to jump on this link but I too am buying a scooter for my two year old in November. They all look pretty big, is there a specific make you would recommend for that age?
  19. If left to my own devices, I would wake around 10am. Just 10+ years of early wakings to go then.... Might need a few more activity ideas if I'm going to make it!!
  20. Morning all, My 2 year old wakes at 6am. This has now become 5am due to the clock change. Believe me, I've tried adjusting his routine to get him to wake up later but he has woken at the same time for over a year now, regardless of what we do. The problem im having, is finding activities to go to with him that are open early. Museums etc (inc Horniman) don't seem to open until 10. I obviously don't expect somewhere to open super early, 9am would do. Anything that could occupy him before his 11.30am nap. I've looked at EdTots but the time appropriate activities don't suit. Does anyone else have a Lark (natural early bird)? Do you just wait for after their nap to do fun activities outside the house? We do Borough market at the weekend which is fun. Any other ideas like this?
  21. The cArd shop on lordship lane does them. The one near the co-op.
  22. I struggle on a Friday too. Especially in the morning. Edtots suggestions aren't quite right.
  23. do any mums use a courier other than Royal Mail? We have found them shockingly unreliable with parcels and we have a lot to post this xmas.
  24. I hide toys. If no one has noticed after a few weeks I know I'm safe to donate them. Also, at xmas, you can tell them there are little boys and girls who would love a wee go on their old toys, whilst they get some new ones.
