  1. Thanks everyone. Good to have some ideas and to know it won't be like this forever. I'd much rather cars than clothes in sausages!!! So I feel much better.
  2. His cousins have trains and he just throws them. Lol. I would love to play Lego with him. Oh well.
  3. I would like my son to have some variety to his play. He loves being read to but otherwise just plays with a big box of tiny matchbox cars. He examines them in detail then drives them off the end of the sofa. The end. He has a tunnel, doesn't go in it. He has a post office, not interested. He doesn't sit still for crafty things. Drawing keeps his attention for under three minutes. He likes to throw the pencils. Blocks and Lego again keep his attention for under three mins. He likes throwing them too. I would love him to have some variety. Does anyone else have a child like this or any ideas?
  4. You would have to pay a lot for wifi monitors. Most of the regular monitors don't use wifi. Regardless, if you are in a small flat you don't need a monitor at all. A video monitor can help anxious mums (like me) but it isn't essential. I like to see that when my baby is crying it's just a wee whinge and not their leg stuck in the cot bars or something. It saves me having to go in for every cry. If I know he's ok, I let him have a wee whinge and go back over. You can buy monitor apps for your iPhone if you want to use occasionally. For example we leave my husbands phone on a shelf in the bedroom and then we can see footage when we are out on a date night via my phone. We use this rarely but it's just extra comfort when using a babysitter. Again, not essential at all.
  5. I just bang a sainsburys carrier bag in. I'm dead classy me.
  6. We are using a Potette which has been fantastic (lining with carrier bags and kitchen roll makes it cheaper too). Still not ideal to whip out a potty in random places but at least it's not wee poured on the street so people have less right to complain. We do however allocate a wee tree in the park (but he doesn't like using it). So far we have had a wee in the potty at the cinema, west end theatre, high street, shopping centre. It's a tad embarrassing but much like breastfeeding, if anyone has a problem with little ones going about their necessary business, they should relax a bit.
  7. I just came on here to ask the exact same question, as buying for my sister. We had the Angel care monitor which was expensive and isn't worth it. Interested to hear other reviews.
  8. Why don't you try a BB cream. It performs several functions in one if you are a slap it on and go kinda gal. Alternatively you could sign up to 2-3 maths of a subscription make up box. I did this and needed up with loads of sakes to try before I invested in the real deal. Feel unique and Little French Box were the best. I tried quite a few.
  9. Hi Anna, My husband (local to East Dulwich) has a band. They do the usual wedding classics and with advance notice are happy to do specific requests. They are a very reasonable price (not charging premiums for weddings). If you want his details pm me with your email address and he will get in contact.
  10. Don't go to Dr Boo. Go to Selfridges or somewhere with a Clinique counter. You like their foundation, they can give you a make over and recommend products.
  11. I always look at Amazon. They show toys by department and age group and you can order product by popularity.
  12. I really feel for you. Parenting is so hard. Just when you figure out something there is a new challenge or hurdle. Good luck with and and try not to blame yourself. X
  13. Maybe try putting the mattress on the floor?
  14. I believe a Toddler group runs on thu at 10am? Is this on today? Thanks
  15. Margate is 55 mins on the express train from kings cross. Dreamland has just reopened and there is the Tate.
  16. How about a park party at Crystal Palace Park so a tour of the dinosaurs can happen after.
  17. Mines 3 in Nov and was fine. We left after Tiddler (about 40mins). So as long as you are happy to leave (an hour is a bit long) it's fab for them. Mine enjoyed it. Mine goes to the Toddler Cinema too so used to sitting still for a little while.
  18. Went today. It was fab. They are doing Stick Man at Xmas. I would recommend.
  19. We went, loved it too.
  20. It looks perfectly fine to me. Sometimes when we are close to a project it's hard to get perspective. I wouldn't worry about it.
  21. Thank you! That's the order I was hoping for!
  22. Has anyone been to see this?m we are going on Sat and just want to prepare myself. What order are the stories in? Do any children run around or is everyone confined to seats? Was it packed out? Seats aren't allocated, how did that play out? Are there seat lifts for little ones to be raised up to see like at the cinema. Thanks in advance.
  23. Ok, I'm 7 days in and it feels less like training and more like normal life now. I've kept notes for 7 days and am going to stop now. Yesterday was my son's first fully dry day. I thought I would put a synopsis of my progress below for parents new to potty training who might be interested. I did read Oh Crap and followed parts of it ie we did 2 naked days and are now onto commando day. I won't put him in pants for a few more weeks (the theory being they feel like nappys, so avoid at the start). I still put a nappy on for nap and bedtime. I bought a different brand so they felt like a step change for him and made it clear they were just for sleep. Ok, here goes: DAY 1: 6 accidents, 2 potty, poo in potty DAY 2: 1 accident, 2 potty, poo in potty DAY 3: 6 accidents, 2 potty, poo accident DAY 4: 2 accidents, 3 potty, poo accident DAY 5: 0 accidents, 4 potty, poo accident DAY 6: 1 accident, 4 potty, 2 poo in potty DAY 7: 0 accidents, 6 potty, poo in nappy after nap By day 5 my son independently went to the potty 1 or 2 times each day. But I still prompt regularly. When he has a success we do the potty dance and get a Pixar Cars sticker (big book of the, bought off amazon). Potty Dance: Dance like an eejit to Another One Bites the Dust (Queen) with below replacement lyrics: Duh duh duh duh duh Do the Potty Dance Duh duh duh duh duh Do the Potty Dance Do the potty dance, do the potty dance, do the potty dance Ooh do a wee and poo, do the potty dance Good luck everyone!
  24. Agave Nectar is very high in fructose and bad for you, despite the low GI. Don't be fooled.
