Unfortunately they're not leaving behind jewellery if it happens to be sitting near the electronics! Best to keep everything upstairs, including laptops, etc. I think you're right, Penguin, that these people are professional and are very good and not been seen or getting caught. Hopefully they'll trip up and we'll all recover some of our things.

I'm going to call the police officer assigned to my case to reinforce the message, as she called the other day to say they were effectively closing the case as they had no leads - and this less than two weeks after the burglary at our house occurred. Hopefully they'll link all the burglaries together.

I was one of the luck ones who had a burglary in Ivanhoe Road... everything they took fit handily inside a rucksack that was sitting near the two laptops they found...

Did they by any chance take the keys to the back door upon exit, locking it from the outside?

In our case, we're along the railway, so there is a fence with three rows of barbed wire along it. Unfortunately that didn't stop them...

Yep, we're mid-terrace and surrounded by fences - it seems like it would have been quite a feat to get to ours.

Really sorry to hear! There are a lot of similar burglaries going on in the area - I also had two laptops, an ipod and some jewellery stolen from Ivanhoe Road. The MO was the same, as well - came in through the back, between 3-7 in the morning.

Hi, I think this is probably a long shot, but one of the items stolen in one of the burglaries in Ivanhoe Road was a diamond ring that was designed by my mother from jewellery that belonged to both my grandparents. It's an unusual design, as you can see from the unfortunately not-very-clear photo, and quite distinctive if you see it. If anyone has seen it or comes across it, I would be grateful if you could get in touch! We are offering a reward if it is returned. Thanks!

We had a burglary in Ivanhoe Road over this past weekend, as well, as did someone else just down the road from us. It was between 3 and 6 in the morning, so we were in, and they took a couple of laptops and some quite expensive family jewellery, as well as a rucksack to put it all in, but they never went upstairs. Be aware! There might be more to come if they're getting a couple of houses a week.
