  1. We used to go to the Lordship Lane vet (now Medivet)up by the old Harvester when we had a cat and would rate them. They were v pragmatic at recommending which treatments/scans would actually be worth doing when cat got old/ill.
  2. I?d happily recommend Grace, who has been teaching my 5yo for a few months. My daughter really likes her, is making great progress and - most importantly! - is enjoying the lessons and happy to practise (so far!). Grace +44 7875 991827
  3. Thank you! Didn?t know about the football one, which looks a possibility. Had emailed DKH to ask about their activities and waiting for a reply. Much appreciated x
  4. Bumping this as getting slightly desperate! Please let me know if you?re aware of anything in the area. Thanks
  5. There?s a good variety on here... https://rosetintedtentacles.wordpress.com/2018/03/19/8-podcasts-for-kids/
  6. Hello Does anyone know of any holiday clubs running Fri 31 Aug? Most seem to have finished by this point, it looks like. Many thanks!
  7. I had a GSP as a kid. Very affectionate and gentle with kids, but hugely energetic and not too interested in being trained. We never got her to walk to heel (or not pull on a lead) and she was never great with other dogs. Don?t know if this is a common theme, or just a special case! Loads of character though, I absolutely adored her.
  8. Does anyone know if there?s a local pub showing the cricket from 9ish tomorrow?
  9. I'd been worried about my daughter getting offended st not being invited to a party, as well, of course, of upsetting someone whom she chose not to invite to her birthday. I was relieved to learn that it seems pretty much by the by - and my 8 yr old is definitely a sensitive sort! Her class /school seem to hand out invitations before or at school.
  10. Not a problem - glad to have been of some assistance, and know all too well the feeling of panic and fear. Your kids both seemed really lovely and Princess Holly enjoyed herself too I think!
  11. Thank you to the very kind people who helped my husband after he came off his bike in the park and brought him back home. He has a couple of fractures but it could have been so much worse if he hadn't been wearing his helmet. We both really appreciate you helping out - it was especially kind when you must have been heading to work, and the lady who also had a baby to manage. X
  12. We have one. I really like it - you can prevent them accessing the internet and watching cr@p on YouTube. But they have worked out how to access all the Apps rather than the 'educational ' ones I set up! Also pretty near indestructible.
  13. I've had Mirena coil for around 18 months. Love it! By far easier than remembering pills I've also had minimal periods and less PMT. Only Downside was spotting/bleeding for the first month. Recommend!
  14. I can recommend a childminder on dunstans road, who has been amazingly flexible with our short term irregular requests... she doesn't have a huge amount of space but is a lovely lady. PM if you want a number.
  15. 'Security alert' on friern Road according to BBC London y
  16. Possibly suspect package, but that's only repeating hearsay. I don't know - I live within the closed Off area but haven't been asked to stay inside. In fact didn't realise road was closed until I tried to pop out to the shop! Police won't say but they're not letting people wander around.
  17. They interviewed him at tea on TMS. He was indeed lovely. And claimed to be stronger per lb than any other sportsman except perhaps Floyd Mayweather!

Any advice on where today's Twenty20 cricket final might be being shown? Thank you
  19. Yes, Charles at Paine and Hunter, Lordship Lane. Saw him last week - great manner w my 6 yr old.
  20. Xmas is coming (so I've heard) and v much considering a slow cooker present for me other half. Any further brands to recommend? Is 3.5l the right size for family of 4? And, most importantly, would it be right for pulled pork?! Also any good books? He's an adventurous cook so would like some recipes beyond the basics. Thank you

    Rugby matters

Where to watch it locally? Will everywhere be tickets?
  22. I had a Mirena fitted a year ago after also deciding NO MORE KIDS!! It was about as painful as a smear test and I then had cramps like period pains for a few days after. I also spotted for a month, but believe this is very unusual. Frankly all this short-lived discomfort was nothing compared to the beauty of exceptionally light periods thereafter, and not having to worry about contraception at all. And if you've already had 2 kids you can def cope with that level of pain! As Pickle says, went to the DMC contraception clinic and the doc who does it is great.
  23. Thank you! Now collected and we're very grateful to you for keeping it safe.
  24. We pay ?25 for 3.30-6, inc tea and dinner.
