  2. Well I thought it was a great idea. If a bit confusing when people started swapping them around after a few drinks :)) ETA: Katie, :))
  3. I know some people didn't like doing it, but I preferred it when we wore sticky name labels - I have a terrible memory for names and faces and therefore can often appear rude when I don't recognise people :-$ Also easier perhaps for people going for the first time.
  4. American Pie - Don McLean

It always looks so > busy! xxxxxxx The Thai Corner Cafe is relatively cheap, and you can take your own wine or beer in which makes it even cheaper. However (in my experience) the food isn't that great and the portions are so small it's the only place I've ever eaten where I came out still hungry after a starter and a main course! I've lived in ED since it opened, and I've been there many times over the years, but I've given up on it now, sadly.

Brilliant birds. xxxxxx Go to either Peckham Rye park or the woods up by the Harvester and you'll be very unlucky not to see at least one. You'll certainly hear them! Though they're more easy to spot when the trees don't have leaves on :)
  7. Who was caring for who? Or is that a question better not asked? :))
  8. > KidKruger Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Flappers xxxxxxx Flappers :))
  9. I Like It - Gerry and The Pacemakers :))
  10. Ah! Yes, it's past the Aerodrome Hotel but on the same side of the road as it. Thanks! Link to map below for anyone else who's confused :) Google map of Roundshaw Park
  11. The newsagents in Lordship Lane in the row of shops between Iceland and the Soup Dragon has a photocopier. There's also a printers in Bellenden Road which I'm pretty sure does photocopying, it definitely does laminating.
  12. eater81 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >> By all accounts it seems like this particular > piece of filth does not have long for this world. > Good riddance. xxxxxxxxx I'd sooner have this girl for a neighbour than somebody like you, eater81. What a very nasty person you come across as being.
  13. Thanks - nowhere near Norwood Lake then :) I'm confused about the reference to Ikea and the A23 though? But then I never did have any sense of direction, and as I go to Ikea via Crystal Palace/Thornton Heath maybe Norwood isn't on my radar as being near it ....
  14. Nor me, hence my question .... Thanks for the info. The vibe did seem to have changed.
  15. Or the Dull Bitch Witches :) Sorry, it's late and I've been drinking :-$
  16. Forgive me if this is a sore point, or alternatively if I've missed a load of threads, but are there no forum drinks any more?

Love a bit of Mezze, lots of smaller > sharing dishes really suit me down to the ground. > xxxxxxx Try Hisar on Lordship Lane, they have a great value thing whose name escapes me (I'm senile and it's late) but you get loads of little dishes (meat, fish or veggie options) for a reasonable amount of dosh, and it's all delicious :)
  18. SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Fountain still blue today.. xxxxxx I can't see how it is going to become not blue, unless someone drains the existing blue water out and replaces it with lovely clear water ..... That blue really clashes with the subtle colours of the flowers in that garden.
  19. flapjackdavey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > dunno about pied wagtails . but I have seen a grey > woodpecker on east dulwich station a few weeks ago xxxxxx Great Spotted they are, not Grey :) What was it doing? Pecking some part of the station??
  20. What, on a loop?
  21. YES! Jilted John! Bet you've never heard it done unaccompanied in four part harmony though :)) ETA: Sadly long before the days of YouTube but it was done by Cast Of Thousands in the seventies (?early eighties?) :))
  22. I'm really confused where we're talking about! Where the old airport used to be is now a hotel - I think? There used to be a huge green space on the other side of the Purley Way to the airport, just past the diving board which used to be part of an open air swimming pool and is now part of Wyevale Garden Centre. But I haven't driven beyond Wyevale for ages, so I don't know what's there now. And I used to live in Howden Road, off South Norwood Hill, near the lake at South Norwood, and I did think the area around that lake had been turned into a country park, though I haven't been back there for years? Can someone enlighten me as to exactly where we're talking about, and why it's called Norwood Country Park if it isn't in Norwood? :))
  23. There's No Business Like Show Business - Ethel Merman :))
  24. I'm very sorry if this thread has been lounged as a result either of my response to hellosailor's first post (still no explanation or apology forthcoming) or because of my inclusion of the Goose website address. Admin - I had to put the website address so that stew_hartley would know what I was offering.
