Sexist to offer a pregnant woman a seat - Lib Dem MP Jo Swinson
hoolley replied to Bic Basher's topic in The Lounge
This is ridiculous. I would always offer my seat to a pregnant woman or an older person. I was brought up with manners which seem to be in short supply. I was on the bus the other day when an elderly gentleman asked a boy how old he was as the boy was seated and he was standing. The boy was 12 and the man 78. I have also been pregnant and when heavily pregnant, swollen ankles, back pain etc., I found people did offer me their seat. -
The forensic evidence has been dismissed. The detective leading the case was also being investigated for falsifying documents and also beating another mother into a confession. They explained the bruises to her falling down the stairs and the Portuguese police have now reopened the case saying the McCanns are innocent.

Looks like you are in a minority Pearson.

Oh please. Surely the police would rather spend time on catching real criminals rather than busting someone for selling a bit of hash. >:D

Fab if its true that Scott has got it. Its got the potential to be a gold mine. Peckham really is up and coming.

Post Office delivery problems again?
hoolley replied to char1ie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I feel there is some scam going on somewhere. My cheque book was stolen in transit and someone attempted to use it at a Clapham branch. Also when they deliver a package they never knock but leave a card. When I phoned the police about my cheque book they said it was always happening in South London. Also the bank don't do enough to stop this. They called me and told me someone was trying to use my cheque book to transfer money into another account and they became suspicious. If thats the case why didnt they call the police or get them on CCTV? -
Apparently when they clone your card they may keep it for a while until they travel abroad so it may not have been cloned on Lordship Lane but sometime in the past. I think the lesson to be learned is to never let your card out of your sight at any time.

The new Montpellier pub is a big improvement to the area, nice interior and good food. About time too. We are starved of decent pubs.

Does anyone share my frustration with Specsavers in Peckham:( ? Everytime I order my contacts they get it completely wrong. You can never get a reply on the phone and if you venture into the shop there is at least a half hour wait and a sense of stress and anger at all the customers attempting to wait patiently to be served or to sort something out thats gone wrong. I think I would rather go to the dentist than go into Specsavers, (well, maybe not but you know what I mean?). moved to the Lounge as it's not East Dulwich Specific - The Administrator

I came off my bike and badly fractured my elbow in May. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get the courage to get back on my bike again? I so miss it and I have put on so much weight since I stopped cycling, it was also good for my mental health but I seem to make any excuse not to try to get back on it again. Any suggestions?
