  1. Please stay on topic folks - the original poster was not asking for a debate on the pros and cons of home birth!
  2. Congratulations to anyone expecting a winter baby! This is your thread, use it as you see fit. Organise meet ups, discuss prams, share morning sickness remedies... it's up to you. Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies. FRM x
  3. I have to agree with you Snowboarder - it is fine for child related businesses to advertise on these boards, but the same rules apply as to builders etc. advertising on the other boards. Constant promotion is not allowed. Sorry to have not picked up on this earlier.
  4. Quite inappropriate, thank you Moos, I had missed that one. Post now removed.
  5. I agree entirely Otta - I do understand that there is an element of targeting going on, which is unfortunate, but I feel the best course of action by HH is to ignore rather than make any reference to the posts therefore encouraging dialogue to continue. Let's keep the family room a nice supportive place where discussions can take place in a sensible and respectful manner.
  6. Once again I have just had to spend time removing bickering and personal gibes between Helena Handbasket and Zeban. This is a formal warning that behaviour such as this will not be tolerated on this board, and action will have to be taken to restrict your posting abilities if it continues - this would be a shame as I feel you both have good points to add when you're not wasting time arguing with each other. Thank you for your cooperation. FRM
  7. I'm locking this thread as there is an identical one already in action, see here.
  8. I have hidden the unpleasant exchange of messages between two users that occurred over night, and would kindly ask that you stay on topic. Thanks, FRM
  9. Perhaps there are some people currently a bit green around the gills and looking forward to welcoming yet another East Dulwich resident in the autumn? If so, this is the place for you - congratulations! Feel free to use this thread as you see fit. Prams, morning sickness, hormones, that strange urge to eat coal and clean underneath the fridge... Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy. FRM x
  10. Hi Fuschia, Nothing at all to do with saying negative things, just that you had already started a thread on the exact same subject elsewhere. Regards, FRM
  11. Hi Untamedstylist, Admin has been away, and has been pretty snowed under trying to deal with everything since returning home. Be patient and I'm sure your email will be responded to as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding, FRM
  12. Sorry LB, partly my fault for allowing the link (which is fine) - I hadn't kept up with all the updates following it. Thanks for your understanding. FRM
  13. Please try to keep this thread on topic (thanks Smiler!). By all means start another one (or resurrect an old one) regarding the confusing world of what to buy. Thanks, FRM Oh, and what's it really like after having a baby? Bl**dy hard work for seemingly not much reward in the first few weeks. And then they start to smile, and life, while still bl**dy hard work, starts to make sense.
  14. As I am also loving reading these entries I hereby grant permission to post your blog link :))
  15. Hip hooray, it's summer babies time - therefore giving us hope that the weather will in fact turn warm and life will no longer be lived huddling round the radiators (or is that just me?). Warm congratulations to those of you expecting little bundles of summer joy. Feel free to use this thread for all things relating to summer babies - arrange meet ups, discuss the highs and lows of pregnancy, compare pram research... Here's to a happy and healthy 6 months or so ahead! FRM
  16. Please stay on topic - which is discussing how soon after birth you *ahem* had special cuddles. FRM
  17. Many congratulations to everyone expecting babies in the Spring. You can use this thread for chats, arranging meets, celebrating the highs and moaning about the lows - it's up to you. The months are only intended as a guideline - if you're expecting a February baby for example but you'd prefer to come to the Spring baby meet-ups, or if anyone would like to come to more than one set of meet-ups then please go ahead. Equally, many parents expecting spring babies may not yet be ready to discuss their pregnancies, so please join in as and when you feel like it. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. Here's to a happy and healthy 6 months or so ahead! FRM
  18. I'm going to (attempt to) lock this thread, can we keep discussions regarding the new nursery on the existing thread so that we have a single point of reference. Thanks
  19. As of today I'm taking over the role of Family Room Moderator... eeeeeek! The outgoing FRM has done a fantastic job of ensuring that the boards remain a friendly and welcoming place, as well as keeping the place tidy. Thanks a lot for all the time you have dedicated to the boards and for the guidance you have given me today in terms of what I have signed myself up for. I'm sure everyone appreciates the work you have done, albeit behind the scenes, and I hope I can live up to your example. I have been assured that taking over this role won't end up causing me too many sleepless nights. Please be kind, and avoid me having to use the naughty step ;-) FRM
  20. Thanks Mark. Just wanted to add that moderating the family room has been fun, and is not hard work. I can't keep doing it, as I have other commitments coming up that mean I probably won't be able to check the forum very often. I'd suggest that a regular user of the family room will easily be able to keep the place tidy in the time they already spend on the forum. Do also feel free to PM me if you would like to discuss - no commitment. Cheers, and thanks everyone for making the family room such a kind and supportive place FRM
  21. Sorry about the accidental thread-splitting. They have now been re-merged, not wholly successfully in that the messages are not all in chronological order. FRM
  22. Congratulations to all the forumites expecting new arrivals to their families in the winter months. This thread is primarily for chats and arranging meet-ups, as well as sharing tips on dealing with the challenges of looking after newborns in the coldest months, or where to buy the most appealing woolly jackets with bear ears.. The months are only intended as a guideline - if you're expecting a December baby for example but you'd prefer to come to the Autumn baby meet-ups, or if anyone would like to come to more than one set of meet-ups then please go ahead. Equally, many parents expecting winter babies may not yet be ready to discuss their pregnancies, so please join in as and when you feel like it. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. Cheers FRM
  23. Hi charleeboo This thread I believe was set up for discussing popular children's names in East Dulwich in order to find out useful information for your business. Can we please stick to the topic? Obviously, posts advertising your product are very welcome in the Classifieds section.
  24. Just a reminder, since I've moved quite a few threads today. - Family Room Discussion is for chatting, asking for advice, exchanging opinions, arranging meetups, general family gossip, friendly arguments and making friends. "Should I send my child to a nanny or a childminder" or "Where can I buy nice maternity clothes" or "What's my local school like" should go here. - Family Room Classifieds is for buying, selling and relevant posts from local business people. "I am a nanny looking for a job", "I have some maternity clothes to sell", "I would like people to take part in my survey" and "I am offering a course on Baby Massage" should go here. Please don't post any thread more than once, I will just hide one of them. And don't bump threads. And brush your teeth thoroughly. Hope that's clear, please advise if not cheers FRM
  25. If you like, but I did notice that the one in the Lounge was the one with all the responses. Let me know.
