  1. My daughter had the same problem at about the same age, I tried Califig (sold in Sainsburys) in enough pure orange juice to hide the taste and that did the trick almost straight away. Hope she's better soon.
  2. Thank you Carrie.
  3. Also wanted to add Dog Kennel Hill school to that list, always gets overlooked on here and a very good school.
  4. Hi hilili, Obviously I can only comment on my own experience but my son is in year 7 at Charter and I have no problems at all, Infact I am very impressed with the comunication from the school, We quite often get texts and letters in the post regarding various matters and always feel very 'in the loop' so to speak.
  5. According to their website they open at 9.30 everyday except Sunday.
  6. One tip is to always look for the registered charity number on the bag (NOT to be confused with a registered COMPANY number!) If they don't have one, I chuck it.
  7. Old wives tales are a real bug-bear of mine! I have 2 boys and a girl and a mystery one on the way, I have carried exacly the same way each time, had identical pregnancies, not a day of morning sickness and lots of indigestion each time. EVERYONE has an opinion though, I tend to zone out when they start with the 'Ooh - it's a boy/girl' 'Ooh it'll have lots of hair' 'Ooh it'll be big/small' etc...
  8. You won't need anything, had my 20 week scan on Friday and they didn't ask for my notes or anything. We were seen within about 10 minutes of getting there which was great. They will offer you the internal scan too, to check the length of your cervix for risk of premature labour and also to check the blood supply from you to baby. This doesn't hurt at all and takes less than 5 minutes. Our only prob was after firmly telling the sonographer we DID NOT want to know the sex - she let it slip :-(
  9. Used to be the Grove Vale Depot.
  10. Working on my playlist for number 4 at the mo, didn't have any for the other 3, but deffo will this time - consisting mainly of Elbow, Seldom Seen Kid album at the minute (I adore One Day Like this - beautiful song.) Got me thinking of songs that remind me of my older ones baby days too, I remember being a petrified first time mum, desperatly trying to feed my screeming, colicy(sp?) sleep fighting son, when 'High' by the Lighthouse Family came on the radio, the lyrics were just so perfect, it still makes me cry now at how fitting it was. "When you're close to tears remember Some day it'll all be over One day we're gonna get so high And though it's darker than December What's ahead is a different colour One day we're gonna get so high And at The end of the day remember the days When we were close to the edge And we'll wonder how we made it through the night The end of the day remember the way We stayed so close till the end We'll remember it was me and you" Believe me, there were times when I was close to the edge - but we did come through it, wouldn't be on number 4 otherwise! Sorry - totally off on one there - darned hormones!
  11. What's left of Cut Through/Cut Throat Lane is now Copleston Passage, not quite as far as Chadwick Road.
  12. Is he the young one with dark hair and glasses? If so, I absolutely agree, he really is incredibly helpful, unlike a few of the girls who work on the self checkouts who are nothing short of rude!
  13. They had them in Co-Op (Ex Somerfield) on Lordship Lane today.
  14. Number 4 due early October, would be good to have somewhere to whinge ;-P
  15. He sat outside Kings A&E early in the morning for quite a while, I used to see security talking to him, now I see him most days in Sainsburys car park.
  16. Might have to pop along in October when number 4 arrives! :-o
  17. Let's hope it means they will use the night time purely for shelf filling so that the aisles aren't packed full of roll cages and trolleys all day as usual!
  18. They're still open 24 hours Mon-Fri then they close at midnight Friday.
  19. Could you not accept the Lewisham School offered, then if you prefer what Southwark offer when the time comes, contact Lewisham and decline?
  20. Sorry to go off topic but where do you take her ryedalema?
  21. Yes you can.B)
  22. Another thing worth adding is that there won't imediately be 900 boys on site, the school is being filled one form per year, the first intake was last September so if/when it opens this September there will only be 2 year groups there, and the school will fill gradually.
  23. Peckham Rye Park has long been used for school children as a sports facility, When I was at school we used to get a coach there, I don't see why that should be a problem now. It's not as if they're going to let 900 boys out in the park at the same time, unsupervised to do what they like and as someone else said, why should local kids not be allowed to use the park, it's a public space is it not? It is a great shame it has no outdoor space, but with a desperate need for secondary places in Southwark and little room to build a school especially in ED, it looks like they are trying to make the best of what they have. Will the boys school not be sharing any of the facilities of the girls school across the park?
  24. No, Sydenham Girls wear Navy.
  25. Dog Kennel Hill don't.
