The Art Deli 16 Coldharbour Lane, has not long been open and really deserves a try. Small and friendly with really great food and craft beer. The breakfast menu is fantastic. If you fancy stepping out of your comfort zone then come along to the Art Club for grown ups there on the last weds each month. And nobody has mentioned Van Hing, is it because it looks like a crappy cafe ? Try the Noodle soup and swoon !

I have an open studio coming up 18th-19th June as part of the Camberwell Arts week, (private view, Fri 17th, 6_9pm) So I am just trying to work out if we can do our first evening before that. The week after the Open Studio I run Arts Club at the Art Deli in Camberwell, this is a great venue as they have wine and I did wonder about running the class here, it would work well for basic hand stitching techniques, but for alterations we would need the privacy of my studio. So, we have options and I would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks

Three children aged 3 and under - how will we do it?!
notapoppet replied to omagem's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It will be fine, you can do it ! I have 4 but all far apart in age...I've been dealing with one teenager after another for 17 years and just embarking on the last teenage roller coaster..I have to say I'm a bit tired of it now. Your teenage roller coaster will be a much shorter ride, You will be able to sit back and put your feet up and smile. -
Would you like to learn some basic sewing techniques? How to do simple alterations to get a really good fit? Do you have a favourite thing that needs altering, mending? Do you have a bargain you bought in the Sales that doesn't really fit? Do you have an urge to make a cushion? I've been doing alterations for people on the forum for years and have been asked many times about doing classes... So, who wants to come along and learn ? When would work for you? Evening? Daytime? What would you like to learn? All thoughts, ideas welcome. Thanks Sue, 07894438163

Where can I learn basic sewing skills
notapoppet replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I've been thinking about offering an evening of alteration advice and basic sewing skills as I do a lot of alterations professionally. With a few basic sewing skills and a bit of confidence it's amazing what you can do ! Let me know if you'd be interested in a small group lesson at my studio. Sue 07894438163 -
The Government plans to reduce staff-to-child ratios in early years settings and for childminders in England. Nursery and pre-school staff could be expected to look after six two-year-old children (up from the current limit of four) and four babies aged one or under (up from three). Childminders could be expected to care for four children under five (up from three) and two babies under one (up from one). Please sign the pre school learning alliance's official HM Government approved petition to stop government plans to relax the adult to child ratios for caring for babies and two year olds and require them to carry out a consultation on the proposals Please pass it on to friends who need to know.. http://www.rewindonratios.com/ Thankyou

Hey !! This is news worthy. It's a wied bug, my daughter really poorly for a week, sickness, stomach/head ache....went away then came back, had it for 3 weeks now but getting better. My teenage son just had stomach ache and headache and very noxious gases. I've just had wierd dizzy head and very knackered. I think it's a form of the Noro......bless it !! Wouldn't it be nice if there was a national data base you could check and see whats at large in your area?

Grape Jelly 1!!! My husbands specialty. Like Jam but not.....added to gravy it is just fabulous.... or another of his "interesting" inventions was a kind of "set" grape jelly sweet, not my favorite, but interesting. -
We've stayed here for christmas a few years ago and had such a lovely time. Skiing was great and just up the road ! The views from the chalet are amazing and Sarnano is a beautiful little town. I can highly reccommend it !

How do we ever change that? Well, probably by buying the expensive stuff.....supply and demand. It wouldn't work of course because people always need cheap but it could make a difference..

On a serious note.....do you realise that those lovely squirrels (furry rats) have the eggs and baby birds out of nests.......so those poor birds are surely "being killed using barbaric, but legal methods," by the very vermin you want to protect..... I personally think it's quite handy to have a fresh larder about in case of famine. Also good to eat your enemy.
