  1. We have doors from Folding Sliding Doors, which have been in place for around 6 years now. The after sales service is excellent.
  2. Butterfly essence?
  3. I know a number of people who have children at the school, all very happy (and nice, well-adjusted kids too, which is a good sign!). As an outsider looking in it seems to have public school benefits without an elitist attitude.
  4. You putting yourself in top spot HMB?
  5. I was out for a run on Friday and had a quick chat with an elderly man in Herne Hill as I waited to cross the road. He picked me as "foreign", and went on to ask whether I was "one of the ones that has to leave soon?". 16 years in the UK, I have both a UK and NZ passport. First time I've ever felt like maybe I shouldn't be here. I was lost for words, and in some ways grateful that it was me he asked the question of, and not someone currently struggling with the referendum result as an EU migrant.
  6. Sorry to hear this DulwichFox. I've recently had a shocking experience with DMC too. Please seek medical help in the morning. If it is cellulitis (difficult to tell from the photo) you do need to start on antibiotics sharpish, I wouldn't leave it until Monday. I've had it a few times on my lower legs as a result of insect bites, it's nasty. Seldoc remain the glimmer of hope in SE22. Call them tomorrow and you will be seen. Sadly now if any of my family are unwell, we wait until after hours and use Seldoc, rather than the GP we've been signed up to for 13+ years.

  8. I don't think you'll find structured activities for that age that late in the evening. My children go to cubs, which is 6:30-8pm, but that starts from age 8. Something to consider in the future, perhaps? Parental involvement is welcomed and it's great fun.
  9. That's really great news, I received one of your leaflets earlier today, so pleased to hear he's home safely.
  10. Whatever kind of laugh it was, it doesn't make it right, does it? Either to make the comment in the first place, or to be someone that encourages the comment by laughing. I did say to him that he was out of order, water off a ducks back, and nobody backed me up. Sadly, whether intentionally or not, people voting leave have created a situation where racist idiots feel they can now be more vocal with their views.
  11. I saw this new form of legitimised racism in action today, Lordship Lane Co-op, when a man in the queue in front of me "jokingly" said "we won't have this problem once they've all gone home" whilst nodding towards a person with an accent asking for assistance with the "unexpected item in the bagging area" problem we all know and love. What shocked me most was the fact that others in the queue laughed.
  12. I think there are only two - St Antony's and St Francis Cabrini, so not many options!
  13. I went straight from cloth nappies to pants with my 3, and resorted to using a standard pull-up at night time.

    Fox cubs

Thanks Green Goose. In the last couple of weeks I think they have moved away, I've only spotted one of them on a single occasion, whereas previously I saw them daily, and they were bringing a lot of rubbish/food scraps into our garden st night which has now stopped happening. There's the odd bit of fox poo on the grass in the mornings, but nothing even close to what it was like a few weeks ago.
  15. Agree that Si Mangia is great, they are lovely and the food is nice. My daughter wanted Chinese as her birthday meal yesterday, so we went to Mr Liu on Lordship Lane - first time I've eaten in there in over 11 years! They were really accommodating, super friendly staff and the food was great for family dining (we ordered one of the set menus and all of the children picked things out that they liked - they are 4, 8 and 9). I would recommend it.
  16. There are a lot of childminders locally that offer before/after school care.
  17. That's great news. I hope the person who stole him is prosecuted!
  18. We use Paine & Hunter on Lordship Lane, they are very good.
  19. Agree that micro scooters are very good. My older children both got a Maxi Micro for Christmas when they were 5, and they still use them now. My son is 9.5 and atill rides on his one happily, so they are worth the money.
  20. Knitting and crochet (and the odd glass of wine, and TV) are how I (and many others, I'm sure) fill in my evenings. Three kids, can't afford a babysitter every night. I wish them luck. It was only a couple of years ago that a similar shop (where the Mary Portas shop is now) closed down. Realistically, any serious crafters go online for yarn/fabrics etc, as they're cheaper. Classes could do well though.

    10km park run?

Lots of people run more than that distance in a week. I aim for about 20-30km every week, spread over 3 or 4 runs, and I'm just a "fun" runner, not training for anything. Great way to stay fit and keeps me sane, I run alone and it gives me head space!
  22. It's going to be alright, probably about the time she leaves home... Miss 8 was the same at 6, we've had a few glimpses of sweetness in the subsequent 2 years, but mainly stroppy drama queen antics. Friends with older girls seem to have similar, and we have big hormone surges at 9/10 to look forward to 😳 Makes me appreciate Miss 4.5 with her innocent sweetness, but fear the fact that I have it coming all over again!
  23. Thanks for arranging this Niwi, I've finally sat down with my diary and filled in our dates.
  24. I think Morley College run classes like this, I remember a friend used to go one evening a week.
  25. I guess the early start is to get the kids in and out before the drinkers turn up for the day? Sounds like a good idea, but would be great if it started a bit later, they could do a movie and kids lunch deal (I've never been in, is it suitable for kids at lunchtimes?)
