  1. I wasn't saying anyone had called the OP stupid and sorry if read like that. It was just me making a statement, nothing to do with anyone else. As in "Artworld - you didn't do anything wrong or stupid, you just took a calculated risk and you lost and it sucks". On another note, I guess if you happen to be the honest owner of an orange Bugaboo, you might want to stay home for a day or two.
  2. I completely understand why it was kept in the boot and I don't think you're devoid of common sense. It's not easy juggling little ones in the morning and sometimes you have to do what you have to do or you'd never get anywhere; and sometimes that involves taking a calculated risk. That doesn't make you stupid.
  3. 30 pages of comments. Is that what mums do all day (off to find my tin hat).
  4. I think you'd be crazy to spend ?600 without finding the cause of the leak because it will probably happen again. If the damage is just cosmetic - i.e. the kitchen doesn't look so good but is useable - then I will just put up with it for now until you can find where the water came from.
  5. What a low thing to do to someone - steal a pushchair. Really not sure what can be done unless your buggy has anything to identify it. Sorry this happened to you.
  6. Poor you. The problem with leaks is that they are sometimes not immediately obvious. A very slow drip will do a lot of damage over time. Am I right in thinking that the ?600 is just to fix the water damage in your flat? Waste of time doing that until the source of the damage has been found. The first thing is obviously to find the leak. I'm no expert but I think that if the upstairs flat is the cause of the leak I don't see how the council can get out of paying. Good luck.

Oh, is it touring already? Ha, also off to see it next month so please post a review. Px
  8. Hello, I just wanted to flag up that I think the Young Vic's 2014 season has some real winners. See here, http://www.youngvic.org/ I've booked for the whole season except Happy Days (Samuel Beckett; I don't get him), and they do a special deal which brings the price of the top price seats down from ?35 to ?23.50 if you book for more than one play. Prices start at ?10 a seat, which is very affordable. Currently they are only taking bookings for Streetcar from Young Vic members. This is because they don't have any actual dates for it yet but they are expecting demand to be high. I've bought 4 tickets and they are going to be in touch when they've got the dates (very strange). The Young Vic is a wonderful place and you can jump on the 176 or the 63 afterwards and be home in a jiffy. Incidentally, I went to see The Ritual Slaughter of Gorge Mastromas this week at the Royal Court. Thought it was a bit odd. I have two spare tickets for next Monday night if anyone wants them. No charge but you'll have to pick them up. Px
  9. I used to live in Melbourne Grove and it's always been a rat run with drivers putting their foot down. So yes, speed limits please.
  10. I used to work in PR. Whenever we needed column inches for a client we used to invent a survey and send out a press release. Newspapers like surveys so it was a no brainer. We either used to make it all up or phone our friends and "survey them". Absolute twaddle. On a separate note, just because it is in the Daily Mail it doesn't mean it isn't true. Law of averages says they'll be right some of the time.
  11. And another thing - any team that pisses on the Rye should be banned outright. I have no wish to see a grown man with his tackle out in a public space in the afternoon. Disgusting. I have nothing but respect for the Parkies 'cos they do a great job. For the next few weeks it should be part of the booking procedure that people are told that there is a clamp-down on rubbish and anti-social behaviour so that teams are being monitored for how they leave the space.
  12. I also support a "three strikes and you're out" policy. It's a shared space and we all need to look after it. I use it twice a day to walk a dog so I guess I am there a lot. I delight in seeing the space used fully at the weekend for sports. But the bottom line is that any team that leaves rubbish gets a warning and if they don't clean up their act (pun intended) then they are banned. Just tell them to take their business elsewhere as we only want people who will respect the space. Alternatively, charge them for the cost of the clean-up the next time they want to book. Someone has said there aren't enough bins on the Rye - yes there are. I've never once thought to myself, "oh I can't find a bin, I'll just leave this on the grass for someone else to deal with". Never - I find a bloody bin!
  13. M&S is over-rated and I don't care if they never get planning permission for a shop on LL.
  14. Thanks for posting. Often difficult to find online help in shopping ethically, both for food and for clothing, so it was a good read.

  16. Dearest Hooch - the forum was too serious and bleak a place in your absence.
  17. For no 8 you need look no further than the math/maths/mathematics debate currently hijaking the Bowie thread. Pedants.
  18. Couldn't make up my mind on that one SJ, and then I got sidetracked by "which Disney villain are you?". I am The Evil Queen.
  19. I read an interview in a fashion mag with Iman a couple of weeks ago and she talked about his reading habit; said that he devours books and has new ones delivered weekly.

    Breaking Bad

No, but if you post something on Youtube (preferably with subtitles) I'll have a listen. Px

    Breaking Bad

I am temporarily deaf. My hearing is only about 30 - 40%. It's killing me. I've been watching BB with the subtitles on. That doesn't work. I may have better hearing after Tuesday so I hope not to see spoilers before Tuesday. Also, I saw the Pixies at the Fridge on Friday and it was meaningless because I couldn't hear anything.
  22. Please could someone maybe PM me what it is. Thanx Px
  23. If you dig around on the forum you should find the photo. I think it was posted on here. Good luck.
