  1. Grease Sandy and Danny got it together. Never saw that coming.
  2. Going back to the in-store Predator. I've been giving it some more thought. In the movie that thing scared me silly but whenever I was queueing at the counter I'd find myself glancing sideways at it and thinking I reckon I could take it. Not that I'm particularly tough or anything, but if I got some good punches in quick. Yup, I could take it.
  3. This is bad - looks like there's been no irrational joy in ED since charliecharlie got herself some total bliss nearly a whole month ago.
  4. Brendan - you don't know an uncomfortable seat if you think Beckenham is bad. For an extra ?2 you can upgrade to a super dooper seat with room for your popcorn and your feet can't even touch the seat in front (OK I guess yours could). Plus, did I mention that there's a Nandos over the road?
  5. So we've established that Beckenham has a Waitrose AND a Nandos AND a brilliant spa/pool. And let's not forget the art deco Odeon on the roundabout. When you think about it we haven't got that much to shout about. But we have the forum though - that's ours.
  6. Louisa, You're assuming that everyone is up to speed on previous Waitrose theads and I, for one, am not. Maybe there's been a whole big Waitrose debate that's simply passed me by. I can't imagine I'm the only one.

  8. Yes to be honest I don't understand the point of the thread. Is there a point? I mean, who really cares? I would welcome a Waitrose because I think they are kinder to the suppliers and a more ethical company to deal with. For the same reason, I'm not so keen on M&S. That said, I think the Co-op has a good reputation with suppliers. So I'm kinda happy then. Is Louisa trying to make a point because I'm not getting it and to be honest I'm bored with all mention of Waitrose on the forum. Waitrose is the new Foxtons.

Beckenham has a Waitrose AND a Nandos. Let's all move there.

  11. Now now Brendan. Or have you been snacking on those Stupid Bars again?
  12. I wonder what will happen to the in-store Predator?
  13. Hi James, Advice please. I applied for planning permission in April for a really simple matter. The planning officer has been round and verbally said yes. I still haven't had anything in writing. The excuse being used is "backlog". My architect won't move without something in writing. It's August and this puts the council in breach of its statutory duty regarding planning (for an application that went in in April). Who's bottom can I kick at the council to get something in the post yesterday? Thanks in advance James. P
  14. Yes I expect your all right (S Mac / K Ford) but the staff were exceptionally lovely people (especially the lady with the cute kids). I hope they all manage to find other jobs.
  15. What like Nandos? p.s. I love Nandos
  16. This is a Hyacinth Bucket thread if ever there was one. And what's wrong with Ocado? Brilliant service.
  17. There's a decent article in today's FT about women dressing for work. "Is low-cut too hot for the office" in the Dear Lucy column on page 12. I found it interesting. Unfortunately, I don't know my way around the FT Online or I would post a link. That's not helpful - sorry.
  18. The river walk that you can do on the south bank from Westminster up to the Tower of London is fantastic and there is so much to see on the way. It goes past the Festival Hall, Shakespeare's Globe, Tate Modern. Lots of places to stop and eat or have coffee. Spectacular views.
  19. Hi Karrie, Who are the "top leaders"? It's a serious question. P
  20. Wash your mouth out Mr Carnell. I can't lay the blame on poor innocent Monsieur Louboutin. I would never be able to forgive myself. No no no. I'm watching the carbs this week though - funnily enough. I mean, how lardy do you need to be to go through a floor?
  21. Well done PR. Please post another picture though or a link to the last one. px
  22. Which was more bruised PR? Your bum or your ego? Px
  23. I'm afraid not Narnia. I did have a bit of a boob malfunction last week at my powerplate class. Thank you for thinking of me (I suppose). Px
  24. I put my foot clean through a flooboard in my bedroom floor at the weekend. It hurt. I'm limping and people are asking but what can I say? I mean, it's too silly.
  25. This is good news. Can't wait for it to open again. Missed it terribly. P
