  1. Just read the sticky and I'm embarrassed for them. Childish silly people. So they think they've got a disgruntled ex-employee. So what? Grow up. It happens. Having a big girly sulk is not going to show them in a good light (see what I did there?). Twitter / Facebook / Forum - they are all here, whether you like them or not. So all you businesses better learn to deal with them - BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. And yes, I applaud Green & Blue and Jacks who both handled criticism in a positive way and they are both great places to go and I think more highly of them knowing that they can take some criticism and turn it round.
  2. I've been thinking of getting one. It's all about the ambience.

  4. Bought my first property in SE22 in 1986 thanks. I thought trolls were supposed to be controversial, or interesting. This is just fucking dull. What's the forum coming to when it can't even get a decent troll? This is fourth rate, bargain-basement, scraping the bottom of the barrel, trolling.
  5. This thread is the forum equivalent of someone scraping their fingernails down a blackboard.
  6. I detest celebrity culture; it's like a disease. It serves no purpose but to make us feel unhappy with our lot. I enjoyed reading the Mick Hucknall interview so thanks for posting Hellosailor. I admire his honesty. He had an interview where he refused to play by the rules and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm not saying I like him, or I agree with him, or I'd rush out and buy a CD; just saying that I admire the honesty. This week Katie Holmes is divorcing Tom Cruise. Last week she was holding his hand in public and smiling. Everywhere you look there's a celebrity saying that their youthful good-looks are down to lots of yoga, water and good genes, when we can all see they've been under the knife and have a face-full of botox. It's all phoney. Utter bollox. So when someone (Mick Hucknall) suddenly interviews after taking a truth-serum it all seems rather shocking because it's not what we're used to. Human behaviour is governed by a need to look good. Obviously not for Mick Hucknall. At least he's sincere.

  8. Yes me too, upstairs at the East Dulwich Tavern. It was a cheap night out on a Saturday with no cab fare home.
  9. Ms B - I like the sound of those. I can see why you can't do without them.
  10. There were never any early shows. It's what he does - he does late shows. I dunno - maybe that's his creative time of day.
  11. On sale now - going like hotcakes (or death) ?15 each Soho Theatre Here http://www.sohotheatre.com/whats-on/eddie-izzard-work-in-progress/
  12. I am ridiculously attached to everything in my wardrobe Katie numbers. I'm surprised you felt the need to ask! Sheesh. I won't ever be getting rid of anything again. From now on everything's for keeps. Here's why... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2165919/Lady-Gaga-snaps-Alexander-McQueen-gown-world-record-price-85-250.html

I didn't pass judgement; I didn't say get a life - I merely said that I don't understand. If I saw it for myself I might think it was horrendous, but all we've got to go on is what you posted. I doubt there is anything you can do about it. You might want to try and repair your relationship with your neighbours because it doesn't help to fall out with people who you have to live in close proximity with. They aren't doing anything wrong, they're just doing something you don't like. So perhaps build some bridges and open a dialogue.
  14. Thank you so much for posting this. I have ALWAYS wanted to go inside this house and now I shall be able to do so.

    Great Gigs

Coronet is a great venue and definitely should be used more often. I saw Justin Timberlake there (I know, don't ask). The lady from Alabama Shakes has a fantastic voice and it's a cheap ticket. We should have an ED outing. Especially as the beautiful Hibbs is going!
  16. Postage is a minefield. As a buyer I don't mind paying the cost for Special Delivery (usually about ?6) but I get annoyed when the package arrives and it's been sent Recorded Delivery (usually about ?2). Big difference. It's a rip off and personally I ask for a refund of the difference or I neg them. As a seller you need to pass your postage costs on to the buyer or you will loose money. It's annoying when you charge the exact postage that it's going to cost you to send the item and you get marked down as "postage costs too high". You should point out any faults in the items you're selling and try and take photos of the faults. Buyers will usually overlook faults that have been pointed out in the item description but if something arrives and it has faults that weren't pointed out then they feel ripped off. If you're selling clothes then it's useful to include measurements as well as the size, and if the material is stretchy then say so. I find stock photos off-putting. It's OK to include a stock photo so long as you've also taken your own photos.
  17. Send everything of value by Royal Mail Special Delivery. The seller is responsible for the buyer receiving the goods safely. If, for whatever reason, the buyer doesn't receive the goods, the buyer can open a case for a charge-back. They will win their case unless the seller can provide proof of delivery. Proof of postage is not worth the paper it is written on. If the PO looses something then the seller takes the hit - not the buyer. Best of luck. Ebay isn't for everyone. It's not for me. Personally I took armfulls of my unwanted designer clothes to the hospice shop on Lordship Lane. I tried to sell on ebay but I was irritated by the sheer cheek of some ebayers. If you have anything really special then I would consider giving it to an experienced re-seller. I had a few dresses that I didn't want any more that were really high-end and I knew that if they were sold by the right seller they would go to serious collectors. That's what happened and it was worth the fees because they went for much higher prices than I would have attracted. It depends on what you're selling.

    Great Gigs

  19. Hello Saleem, Subjecting an entire post code to these outpourings is not the way to go. Seriously. Some people have suggested it's boring. They're wrong. It's car crash. Please try and find a possibility for yourself that you're living a life that impacts others in a positive way and that fulfills you. This thing that you're doing is not big, or clever, it's screaming empty. Stop it. Hugenot has upset you. Fine. I get it. Try and be bigger than your enemies, not smaller. GG
  20. Admin's having an early night. Or a power cut.
  21. I'm OK on Sylvester but my next door neighbour has no leccy. Landells Road also has dark houses. Candlelight - very romantic.
  22. Where abouts in North London? Have they got a Waitrose? If we could swing by afterwards so I could pick up a few bits and bobs then I might be game. Katie numbers are you in too? Lunch?
  23. To the woman from Dunstans Road who dumped her Dwell furniture packaging in Sylvester Road this afternoon. Dumping rubbish is a very anti-social thing to do. It is also an offence. Not only are you anti-social, you are also very stupid because you left your name and address on the rubbish you dumped. It would be great if you could come and pick your rubbish up and dispose of it responsibly.
  24. How is this bothering you? Can you explain why it is a problem because I don't get it. I'm thinking "live and let live".
  25. This sucks. I was thinking of having a tree outside my front door. I wonder where I can get an Audrey II from? That would deter thieves.
