  1. How did they get your pin?
  2. Proud Galleries?
  3. I'm always fascinated by woman applying make-up. There's a zen to it, an art. Why let yourself get wound up over something so innocuous? Sometimes in the morning I lie in bed listening to the birds and I think "shut the fuck up". Then I catch myself and I laugh and I get up. Anything in this world will annoy you if you let it. I once checked into an expensive hotel room and my first thought was "what's that noise, they've put me next to the boiler room or something, I'm compaining to the manager about that". It turned out that the noise was the ocean doing its thing under my window. Don't sweat the small stuff. Ask yourself what's going on with you that something so insignificant pushes your buttons.
  4. Actually I've talked myself out of it. I think an afternoon could be just as well spent at the Horniman.
  5. May is ideal for me. I'm planning ahead. Like most days out these days it's going to cost an arm and a leg so I just want to make sure that everyone is going to be engaged and inspired to some degree; otherwise it's not worth it.
  6. I'm wondering has anyone been to the Pompeii exhibition at the British Museum and if so, would you recommend it? I'm thinking of taking a group of kids at half term. Kids age from boy of 7 up to teenage girl of 14, so do you think it's engaging enough for all of these?
  7. Are you for real? One minute trawling your postings throws up these gems: "Ok freedom of speach etc have a go" "can we not also put road blocks into Underhill Road, Dunstans Road etc which would eleviate the issues" "bring back horses and carriges" What let you down there? Was it your inability to spell or your inability to use spell check before posting? Don't get me started on your crimes against apostrophes and question marks, as you don't have a grasp on either. Frankly I don't care whether someone's written English is 100% spot on; I'm more interested in what they say. God knows how many people lurk on here without posting because they're worried that if they express themselves "inaccurately" some spelling troll will make them wish they hadn't bothered.
  8. "it's a win -win situation" Fek off looser
  9. Almost certainly over 10k
  10. Just a reminder that Punchdrunk's long awaited new show "The Drowned Man" goes on sale at 12 noon today. Link below http://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/the-drowned-man-a-hollywood-fable
  11. OMG - some bird with stomach upset has bombed my garden, in several spots. It's disgusting. I thought about starting a thread but decided to hijack this one. Bird poo! Yuk.
  12. I've never been a festival-goer. I don't like to be anywhere where I can't plug a hairdryer in. Yes I know that's precious. I agree with everything Mr Ben said about Coachella except he didn't mention that the glorious weather is pretty much guaranteed. Also, you can stay at a 5 star resort in Palm Springs and they bus you in to the festival (please read the hairdryer comment for clarification). Px
  13. They don't have a legal right but I think they should be given some latitude. I had builders for the best part of a year and my neighbours were fantastic. I have the best neighbours and I'm grateful for their support. In the last 12 months my builders had their van broken into and tools stolen 3 times. This is a very expensive occupational hazard for them. You can't really blame them for wanting their van and tools as close to the job as possible. I had building materials stolen from outside my house. There are gangs of thieves scouring areas like this (with lots of building work going on) to scout out stuff to nick. Give your neighbours and their builders a break.
  14. You have my sympathies Telegram. I suspect it might have something to do with Facebook and such. I think that whereas older generations were "joiners", younger people are on-line more. The internet wasn't around when a lot of us were in our 20s. I hope people from your age group can come on here and give you some helpful pointers. Good luck.
  15. The Americans put a "z" in it. Shudder.
  16. How can a thread go from Father Ted to Vegas? Only on the EDF. Px
  17. I haven't seen it - I have tickets for May but, TBH, I don't have high expectations. I think the performances will be magnificent but the play, not so much.
  18. Finally, Punchdrunk has a new show ready to wow London with. This is going to be the theatrical event of the year, you must see it. The last London show was the Masque of the Red Death at Battersea Town Hall. This new show has been on hold for a few years because they've been unable to find a premises big enough. The wait is over. It's happening. They're using the mother of all empty buildings in Paddington. "The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable Step into the world of Temple Pictures where the Hollywood studio system meets a forgotten hinterland filled with dreamers who exist at the fringes of the movie industry. Here, celluloid fantasy clings to desperate realism and certainty dissolves into a hallucinatory world. Inspired by B?chner?s fractured masterpiece Woyzeck, this theatrical journey follows its protagonists along the precipice between illusion and reality." Although it's based on Woyzeck, there is a second story interwoven (just as Rebecca is interwoven into Macbeth in Sleep No More in New York). Tickets on sale via the National Theatre on Friday. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays will include an aftershow party. More info here http://punchdrunk.com/current-shows
  19. Yes fun. But that's probably why I'm such a looser.
  20. Mick Mack - Ardal O'Hanlon is playing at the Donmar in The Weir. Not many laughs in it. Fek.
  21. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My missus doesn't get gambling. When we were in > Vegas she played 6 hands of blackjack, doubled her > money and said 'this is boring' and wondered off. > Madness. Priceless
  22. I have no words Mick Mac. Divorce. And go sole custody.
