  2. PLEASE take a photo/video and post it here. I'm begging you.
  3. One of my "so called" friends just sent me this. She told me it was something I could aspire to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI Actually it's kind of growing on me.

If I saw it happen to anyone else I would laugh myself into a minor stroke I'm sure. It does hurt though. It's a bit like seeing someone knocking over a big stack of tins at the supermarket - you're just really really pleased that it wasn't you. I'm still going to the gym. I'm sure they nudge each other and laugh when I walk past.
  5. Yes me too - I shopped at Hyper Hyper. I'm sure if I went up into my loft I could even find something tucked away up there.
  6. We're more than half way through January so how's it going for everyone? I too have given up booze for January. I spent two weeks in Las Vegas over Christmas where cocktail hour is 24/7. I was out there with some heavy drinkers so in my effort to keep up I drank for England. Haven't had a drop since five minutes past midnight on new year's eve though. I'm going to cave this Saturday though because I'm going to the opera and I know I will drink. I've also been going to the gym first thing in the morning and I'm NOT a morning person so it's hard. I even did the classic last week and fell off the treadmill backwards. Very bruised ego I can tell you. On the whole I've been pretty good in January - just wondered how the rest of ED is doing?
  7. I had a rotten experience there last summer (which I reported on the forum at the time) and haven't been back since. I used to go there most Fridays (ever the Catholic) so it's their loss. I won't go back.
  8. I miss G&B and I'm actively supporting them by regularly buying wine from the shop. This is completely at odds with my new year's resolution, which is to give up alcohol in January. I'm accumulating a large stock of G&B bottles in the meantime; roll on February.

    Great Gigs

As predicted on here, I had a fantastic gig last night. That Gabriella, she can play a bit can't she?

Yes I take your point Sean but most of the time I like to sit down so I can have the option of standing up or sitting down (I also have the aged hip replacement excuse). I am in the floor standing area at Led Zep on Monday night. What I would really like to do (this sounds pervy but stick with me on this) is be blindfolded. I don't want to be down at the front looking at old men - I just want to be lead to the place on the floor where the sound quality is best and be blindfolded and left there for the duration of the gig - I'm serious - I swear to God.

Besides, I once sat next but one to Howard from Take That in the VIP seats (be still my beating heart - that man can re-light my fire any day of the week).

The ground floor has no rake though - completely flat. The trick is to get seats on LEVEL ONE - that's the VIP level.

Annasfield Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hey Giggirl - Have you seen Rod Y Gab before? Arctic Monkeys at Ally Pally huh? The problem with that place (for anyone short like me anyhow) is that there is absolutely no rake on the floor - it's completely flat. Doesn't work for me - I get wedged inbetween freakishly tall folk.

    Great Gigs

Went to see Cesaria Evora a few weeks ago at the Festival Hall - enjoyed her thoroughly. Going to see Rodrigo Y Gabriela at Hammersmith this Sunday night. Going to see Led Zeppelin at the O2 on Monday night - that will be my last gig of the year (I'm going away at the end of next week) so I do hope it lives up to the hype - I am really looking forward to it anyway!

    New Clutch

I've been mislead - I thought this thread was about handbags - how disappointing.
  16. David Cassidy at Bellvue in Manchester then the following year Daryl Hall and John Oates also at Bellvue in Manchester. David Cassidy wore an all in one jump suit (it was the 70s) and security was next door to non-existent.
  17. What's Tetra Pak?
  18. Grant - no it's not Ron - this one has no white bits. Good luck with finding Ron though.
  19. I hear you! Well done you for walking the talk. Congrats on the firmer bum too.
  20. seanmlow Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have one in my garden too - I am in Ryedale! What (if anything) are you doing about yours? My black cat didn't move when I got up close to it so I'm worried it is injured. I first noticed it yesterday morning but I get lots of cats passing through my garden (I think they think they own it) so I didn't pay any attention. It was still there this morning - in exactly the same place. I thought it might be dead at first but it's very much alive. Don't know what to do - I don't like cats so I don't want to pick it up. Any advice welcome.
  21. I have a black cat in my garden (Silvester Road). Does it belong to anyone? It might just be a stray trying to adopt me (it's so barking up the wrong tree - I don't like cats).
  22. This is my second week of membership and I'm enjoying it. It's a five minute journey for me, door to door, so I don't allow myself any excuses for not going - that's a huge bonus. Plus, I like the fact that the gym is quite empty at the moment - that suits me as I like the peace and quiet and the personal attention from staff. The exercises in the programmes are quite specific - i.e. if you don't do them correctly then you might as well not bother at all - so it's good that there are so many staff around to make sure that everyone is on track. Most gyms I've attended before give you a half hour induction on the equipment and then leave you to your own devices. Like a lot of people, I'm very time-poor, so I don't want to waste my precious free time on something that doesn't deliver results. At the moment I think it's money well spent. I don't work for the gym/own the gym so don't even go there. I think that comment above was really uncalled for.
  23. Heather Mills' situation reminds me of Sarah Ferguson's in the 80s and early 90s. So I was interested in Sarah Ferguson's recent comments; I think this is a direct quote but who knows: "It's quite difficult when you're in it - when it's right in your face," the Duchess of York told The Associated Press on Thursday night. "But there's always a reason for it, so maybe you have to change something in yourself." "It's give and take," she said. "... If you are on the public stage, it's your public stage. Otherwise, don't be on the public stage. That's what I really think. If you're on it, accept it, if you don't want to accept it, get off it." It looks to me as if Fergie's advice is to shut up and keep a low profile. Seems like good advice to me and it worked for Fergie; she's never going to be on my Christmas card list but she's come a long way from the car crash she used to be. Also, her kids are showing all the signs of growing into two well behaved young women - that says a lot.
  24. It looks like Riverford is the way to go then. I've just looked them up online and deliveries to ED are on Thursday. This isn't that convenient for me. For those of you who are existing Riverford customers, can you tell me what happens to your box if you're not around on the day? Much obliged.
