Years ago I was at a business lunch once where one of my guest ordered, and ate, a plate of snails. I made an excuse to leave the table, went outside into the fresh air, and physically shook. I returned 10 minutes later (when the first course had been cleared) but, suffice it to say, it wasn't one of my best days.
