I have looked on the website for the Charity Commission and there is no registered charity in this country called "Save The Kids" or "STK". There is a website for savethekidsgroup.org but it is for a charity based in the USA. Can you explain a little more about your charity. If you aren't a registered charity then I don't think you should be collecting door to door as frankly you could be doing anything with the monies collected. http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/

Neighbour from hell - advice please!
giggirl replied to BecsBex's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh dear. Then I really don't know what is fueling her fire and I guess it will remain a mystery. As has been said by others, you cannot influence her behaviour and the only behaviour that you can change is your own. Just be yourself and don't be phoney. I think how you reacted in the garden was phoney but in fairness she probably caught you by surprise and that's what you came out with. Try very very hard not to let her get to you. I know that sounds tough but practice will make it easier. Make time every day to go out into your garden. If she shows up then either say a simple "good morning" or say nothing at all. It sends a message that you're not going to hide away. There is a saying that I'm very fond of; "the best revenge is a life well-lived". It is true. Take pleasure in your garden and be seen to take pleasure. You might want to put your headphones on and listen to music whilst you're gardening. That way, if she shows up then you can smile and wave but you don't have to speak and you can have the pleasure of knowing that her insults have fallen on deaf ears. One more thing; lots of houses in ED were converted to flats in the 80s and 90s and the conversions were done on the cheap with corners cut. In other words, soundproofing is non-existent. Don't assume that she is making noise to annoy you as the fact is that noise travels both ways. Is it possible that she has overheard you talking about her in a negative way and this has caused her bad behaviour? I feel very sorry for the both of you. I feel sorry for you because living this way must be putting you under untolerable stress, but I also feel sorry for her because her life must be wretched, even if her problems are of her own making. -
I haven't seen the last few episodes so I'm not reading this thread in case of spoilers, but just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying the Rolling Stone Q&A with the cast. I'm getting a lot of insight. I've put links to Walt and Hank below, but Jessie is next Monday. Neighbour from hell - advice please!
giggirl replied to BecsBex's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
tfwsoll talks a lot of sense. It is possible that your neighbour is as mad as a box of frogs, but it is also possible that you have unintentionally done something to really piss her off and now she's gunning for you. Basically though, what tfwsoll said above. -

The Pixies are playing a very sly gig at the Electric in Brixton on 27th. I think it's the place that used to be the Fridge. So they have live gigs there then. I would definitely be interested in going to The Ivy for live music. I think it's a great place.

I like Wahaca. I use the one on the South Bank and it's good, quick food.

Otta - that really made me laugh out loud. I know exactly what you mean.

Warning:- Collecting for Cancer Research ??
giggirl replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If you want to give to Cancer Research, or any other charity for that matter, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH A CHUGGER. Instead, Google the charity of your choice, go to their home-page, and sign up directly with the charity. Why should chuggers cream a percentage off the top of your donations? Give direct. If you've already signed up then cancel that standing order and do a new one that goes direct. -
Or maybe just staff holidays? Parkies gone away for a breather?

I'm definitely not watching it. I have no clue what you're on about.

Hello, This isn't what you asked for but it could be a much cheaper option.... I bought my house number from ebay a few years ago. It was seriously cheap (about ?10) and although it's about 5 years old now there isn't a mark on it (i.e. not weathered at all) and I still think it looks super-stylish. Also, it stands out so delivery people etc can easily find the house number. I don't have the name of the ebay seller but it is similar to these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOUSE-SIGN-PLAQUE-DOOR-NUMBER-STREET-ACRYLIC-ETCHED-EFFECT-VINYL-BLACK-LETTERS-/331008038348?pt=UK_Home_HomeDecor_Accessories&hash=item4d119dd5cc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MODERN-HOUSE-SIGN-PLAQUE-DOOR-NUMBER-STREET-GLASS-EFFECT-ACRYLIC-ALUMINIUM-A015-/181008676950?pt=UK_Home_HomeDecor_Accessories&hash=item2a24f53856 When I first bought it I thought "this is too cheap it must be rubbish"; but 5 years on and I'm still happy with it. If you want to see mine then PM me and I'll send you my address so you can't check it out.

"Mary Berry's Baking Bible". Now there's a depressing book. All those cakes. All those calories. I'm crying now.

I've got a platinum Rolex Oyster and I bought it from the Forum shops in VEGAS BABY. That was a nice holiday and it's a nice watch. Unfortunately I don't wear it because it is very small and discrete and I'm blind so I can't tell the time on it's little silver hands and invisible mother of pearl face. I'm looking for a replacement watch which will be HUGE. Seriously, I want a BIG watch, I think they look really cool on girls. So there. Mr Ben - > Another good reason is a gold Rolex Oyster shouts > "mug me" when you're on the 12 at 11.30pm on a > Friday night Anyone who knows me knows that I have the most rubbish phone known to man. I had my phone snatched late at night on the No 12 when it was still a bendy bus. The thieves took a ?42 telephone (really) from a hand wearing a ?????? watch. Most thieves really are very dumb.

An Evil Cradling by Brian Keenan .... Oooh no Nettie. I read that and I found it inspirational. Then I met Brian Keenan at a drinks party somewhere and I bored the arse off him by telling him I loved his book (I'd had a few). Px

Moos - what are your dates? Are you here for Christmas week?

fernado Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > folk (usually tradespeople) sat in cars/vans with > idling diesel engines noisily rattling away, > spewing out all kinds of stink There is lots of parking space outside my house (strange for ED, I know) so I get this all the time. Big lorries having a breather with their engines running. Oh the relief when they drive away finally.

I would second the recommendation for the chemist at Goose Green roundabout. Friendly service and instant photos.

Consultation on banning cash payment on TfL buses
giggirl replied to Mugglesworth's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think it will be a disaster if this happens. Worst case scenario is that you're out and you loose your Oyster or you run out of money on it. Cash is a back up but it would make people vulnerable if they couldn't use it as a last resort. -
I feel very sad that Rolf Harris has been officially charged with nine counts of indecent assault. That's another bit of my childhood chipped away at.

You boys want to get yourself some chick lit. That'll cheer you up. Hugs Px
