Another recommendation for Aria AFE Plumbing and Adam who came round within 15 minutes of me calling them about a leaking stopcock. Excellent service and lovely guys as well. Will definitely use them again.

Our grey cat Columbus has returned home. Thank you to anyone who checked their sheds for him. -
Our lovely grey cat has gone missing. Last seen on Wednesday evening. He is called Columbus, is very friendly and is grey all over. He has no collar but is microchipped and registered at the vets at the top of Lordship Lane (0208 693 4677). We live at the top end of Friern Road (near the turning for Etherow Street). If anyone living near here could check their sheds in case he has wondered in, that would be great. Thanks for looking Sara 07956 534605

Another vote for Steve from Spin Doctor. He's just mended our washing machine that wouldn't spin. He fixed it very quickly and reasonably by replacing the brushes and wasn't phased by the dogs barking at him! Excellent service and great guy to boot. Many thanks.

Friern Road closure at Peckham Rye

It's interesting to read this post about what is happening at one end of Friern Road. I live at the other end, close to two primary schools and would love to see it blocked off in a similar way. We are a rat run for traffic avoiding Barry Road and/or taking a short cut to Lordship Lane and the South Circular. Higher speed bumps were added recently but this work stopped at the junction with Goodrich Road, meaning that at the top end of Friern Road the traffic can really put their foot down. The road was blocked off a few years ago (ironically due to gas works I believe)and the change was startling. I'm wondering why one end of the road is more of a priority than the other, or if we at the top end of the road are paying the price for the traffic calming measures further down the road? -
Lost beret 8.30pm on Townley Road 17 January in the vicinity of Alleyns School. Can't be replaced and my head is getting cold! Would be very grateful for its return if found.
