Yes that's how I feel,It's actually 20% for most parents but because we had the discount its a lot more for us.and am about to go on mat leave with salary implications that has.am the main earner too so its like a double blow.we have no family incountryto help so childcare is kind of essential at least the first couple of months.sorry am whining....

My nursery , a council run one, has just increased its fees by over 60%(we used to benefit from a ft discount).great timing:baby no2 due end September so ideally don't want any more changes for my daughter. I don't seem to be able to get hold of amott rd pre school the villa or gumboots.does anyone know how bad the waiting lists are and whether they are open in summer?we live near peckam rye station and don't drive so needs to be close to us and open from 8/8.30,preferably.many thanks

i really hope you are wrong jctg but bearing in mind that there seems to be a lack of concern for safety, I wouldn't be surprised. -
No hard evidence of this but I suspect that in most cultures girls have their ears pierced as babies. Just like in a lot of cultures babies aren't in bed at 7 sharp, co-sleep etc.

anyone flown ryanair with a toddler
nikki73 replied to nikki73's topic in The Family Room Discussion
thanks Bea Luckily I already knew this was ryanair's policy so I bought priority boarding when booking as I am travelling with 19 month old and 20 odd week bump! Another of the many reasons I avoid Ryanair like the plague. Once all the extras have been accounted for it's usually not worth the stress of flying with them. I think the chances of them changing the policy are unlikely, easy money for them. Still worrying about my pram though. -

nikki73 replied to nikki73's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks bumpy, am already regretting the decision to fly them but curiously they had the best flight times.bad enough without a baby!just to doublecheck didyou check in the buggy online and just show up with it at the airport? Thanks -
Their website says they allow a fully colapsible pushchair.ours collapses but in two parts or in one very big item.also I read somewhere that taking a pushchair invalidated online checking.any experience of this?thanks

hi supergolden! I tend to agree. That's why we gave up on cc. my daughter looked really freaked out one night and i just wonder whether separation anxiety didnt first manifest itself at night. it's now happening during the day too and we have the pleasure of full blown tantrums so i think the sleep issue might just be linked to "a challenging developmental issue".which hopefully will pass before we go mad. will check out the book. thanks for the tip -

hi livebait. First i should say thanks to supergolden88: only just found her post today, sorry! we're not getting anywhere am afraid Livebait! Still a nightmare but I guess I am not a very nice mum: don't feel bad for her at all. Only really sorry for us! Like you I am expecting and I work pretty much full time so I am petrified that we won't get this sorted before the baby arrives. I personally think my daughter is taking us for one big ride but like you teething has been an issue and we make excuses and then the bad habits start again. So my next plan after having tried CC, co sleeping and the gradual approach is trying to wake her up before she does, only slightly, to see if it could have something to do with her sleep pattern, and getting one of those sleep training clocks which i know she is young for. next step will be me moving out... i hope you have more luck than us. it's really really difficult living on little sleep. n -

Maybe too much air/a burp? -
I can so relate to this thread. What's happened to my dress sense! So thinking back to when I still shopped... Was also going to suggest cos. They have great designs. Wouldn't have thought of hoss intropia but yes their clothes and accessories are gorgeous. Maybe comptoirs des cotonniers? Tara jarmon is nice and I think j Lewis might stock it.

I found my hayfever got better in pregnancy/breastfeeding so hopefully the same will happen to you. Another recommendation is to eat local honey. Not sure it'll work but worth a try I guess.doctor also prescribed piriton and beconase and some eye drops.

Thanks Belle really helpful to know you seem to have identified the same causes as me. I was just worried I was missing something out altogether. And sorry to hear you are going through the same thing as us. It's truly exhausting. I keep thinking it'll pass... eventually! -

As soon as she's in our bed she''ll get really excited and want to play which was why'll I decided to try cc as I thought she was trying to have things her way.but seeing how upset she's been lately I might give co sleeping another try. Last night we took.it in turns to stay with her in her room and she did calm down immediately so maybe worth trying that for a bit too.alieh, I have tried ibuprofen and it did work sometimes but my concern is that it's an ongoing problem so I am worried about overmedicating and medication becoming part of her routine. -
We couldn't agree whether we w anted to find out or not so they wrote it down for us and put it in a sealed envelop so we could decide in our own time.takes some self discipline though

My 17 month old wakes most nights at some point between 2 and 4 am and screams for 2+ hours.we've tried co sleeping, doesn't work she just wants to play.we've tried cc:not working.in fact it seems to have made things worse as she now seems genuinely panicked. I don't know what is causing this or what to do.I know that at times her teeth are bothering her but we've been going through this ror months now.I work full time and,am expecting.I was up from 2, to6last night....not sure I can keep going much longer.could it be separation anxiety - she relaxes when we are with her - and if so what am I supposed to do about it?
