Looking for someone to do an assessment of my 8 year old's learning. We suspect dyscalculia and maybe some other difficulties. Does anyone know of a kind and warm person who can assess her? We will do it privately as we no longer live in the UK. Thank you.
My daughter was in reception at the camplin Street school last year. It's a great school. She was very very happy and learnt a lot. She'd be waiting at the door in the morning to go to school. There was a real buzz after they moved back to the camplin site and pride to be part of it. It's quite strict and very focused on literacy but there's also an emphasis on music as the kids get older. The staff really care about the kids. And they teach the kids to care about each other. Older children help with learning etc.Communications with parents could be better but if we were to move back to London I'd definitely be wanting my daughters to go back to htg.
I am about to move abroad for work with 5.5 and 3.5 yo. Foreign language etc. I think kids this age find a lot easier than us to cope with change. They might be unsettled in very short term but long term better for them
Has anyone done this? Any tips? Best way to find a place to live? Agency fees are crazy, rents too. Our school will be in mamer.that's outside town so looking at Western and bonnevoie areas.any tips would be fab.
i agree. you could also factor in your holidays accrued during mat leave. i personally would think twice about giving too much notice. Cirumstances change, they might offer you another opportunity etc
Going on first camping trip.looking to buy cheapish tent for family of 4. Has to be light as we are going by train. Where is best to buy?should I go for 4 man or 6 man.any tips welcome.thanks
I am considering doing this with my daughter as i love her nursery and logistically it would be a lot easier for us. But I worry that she/we will miss out on making friendships at the beginning of the year and that she might be very envious of all her friends who are starting school. If you have deferred entry how did it work out for you and soon do you have to tell the school?
does anyone know whether All Saints playgroup is running this wednesday or has it finished for the summer? And when is the 1 oclock club in peckham rye open over the summer? desperate for activities to keep 2 little ones busy. thanks

I remember seeing links/references to a company set up by 2 ED mums that makes lovely chest of drawers for kids rooms. Vintage in style but brightly coloured or with russian dolls. I can't remember the name of the company. if it rings a bell please could you let me know. thanks.
we are moving and have to make good some furniture. my daughter drew with a ball point pen on a light wood table. a coin has oxydized the other table leaving dreadful staining. I tried cleaning it off but i think it had already eaten into the wood and there are gauge like white stains i guess this is a job for restauration? Any recommendations please or ideas to make good? Tables are no longer in production
we also have an ikea extendable - minnen i think but it's a girlie one. At first I bought the ikea sheets but now i just use standard singles at tuck it all in to avoid having to replace all the bedding when we extend the bed. also second idea of buying a single duvet. We didn't and almost regretted it immediately.
