  1. Up for trying somewhere I haven't done yet - FHT. I think the Drum would just get a bit silly for a Christmas party based on my limited experience there. Not that that's a bad thing.
  2. Tillie, you are a terrible influence! Keeping me out to all hours. Not sure I'll be allowed back to the Drum unsupervised.
  3. mockney piers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > (mostly the americans I'm said to > say FO/BR) I assume this is referring to me, but I'm not American so say what you want!! Anways, back to beer. mattham, did you mean Alexander Keith's? A very nice beer. Also if you're in Ontario I'm quite partial to Creemore Springs, a nice lager. There's a lot of microbreweries in Canada that turn out good stuff depending on where you are. Also if you ever near Cologne the K?lsch is great! Especially for those of us who like a colder brew. They serve it in 200 mL glasses so it doesn't get warm before you're done. The refills appear very rapidly, so no worries about running out.
  4. I actually had that recently. There was another one that was 9% or so, but oddly I can't remember what it was!!
  5. I suspect you're right. Unfortunately I have a tendency to lose track of time while chatting away after a couple of beers.
  6. At home - Heineken from a cooler of ice on my boat! Here - whatever's cold
  7. Not surprising that we haven't heard from Mogs. All those glasses of coke can give you a vicious hangover!

Actually I think I made a pretty good effort in the Drum for my first time! :)-D
  9. The bar staff were a little too helpful. I hadn't finished before new pints magically appeared. No hang over, but some grovelling was required. :-$
  10. Azul Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > cause i can walk there too. Really guys, how many bars can't you walk to in ED? They're all with in staggering distance. And I definitely need to do some more sampling!
  11. I need to take care of a few things. If that doesn't take too long I'll wander down.
  12. Hey! Some of us plebs need internet in the pub right now! I'm pretty sad when it comes to gadgets, but I don't think I could ever stoop to browsing on a stuffed toy.
  13. I do conciously avoid the MMORPGs because I would likely get too addicted. One thing that has kept me out of too much trouble lately is not having a decent enough PC to run the games I want properly. Otherwise I suspect I might end up single again!
  14. No xbox. No internet right now, but that's a different problem!!
  15. Come on Brendan, I'm sure Jonnie will manage one kick before he gets injured.
  16. For those of us after the hair of the dog it's an 8 PM kick off. Probably heading down for 7:30 ish.
  17. Damn, I must have missed the good stuff! My head is fine. :)
  18. Another great night. Met a nice bunch of new people & as always ran out of time to talk to everyone. As for the rugby, I had a conversation with Mike (possibly more than once!) about it & we were thinking CPT. Any other suggestions?
  19. Did they have a TV downstairs? I didn't notice any. So torn... rugby... Boothby...(?) Now where is that thread on odd town names?
  20. Oi! Yup, I'm up for it.
  21. The EDT posts have normally been fairly clear that they work there. While the menu is fairly small & static the food has ranged from acceptable to great. I've never had a problem with the service, which is always great & friendly. It may not be the fanciest place on LL, but I've never had cause to complain. Disclaimer: posting this from EDT using their free wifi after finishing up some work.

SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I notice the opening night is Thursday just before > the next forum drink-up with a celebrity quiz > hosted by Stephen Frost - anyone up for it? Always up for a quiz. I might be able drag the cat in. Any other takers?
  23. Well maybe a bit of debauchery will slow down all of this horrible gentrification! ;-)
  24. While I certainly wouldn't want to ever diminsh the glorious celebrations of Friday I'm more worried about all this talk of Christmas before us Sagittarians have had our chance to celebrate! :)-D
  25. Bugger. I got all excited at the idea of seeing Boothby in ED & I'm away. No idea about the place, but Boothby Graffoe is great. Rather mad, but great.
