I recently serviced/repaired a friend's sewing machine (I used to do this for a living), and she is persuaded that there are many people in this area who also want their machines serviced, but cannot find anyone to do it. So, if you do want your sewing machine checked out, then drop me a PM and we can sort something out. Steve

The OP needs to take a step back and rephrase his/her arguments Having said that, I agree with some of the arguments as to the lack of consultation, and the inability of the council to be able to quantify the effectiveness of the measures outside of a ?very? limited area. However, I have been out shopping in the past, and called in to shops on my way home, which were not far from my front door. Of course these days, I could, and do, use home delivery services to some extent, but then that too would have an effect on local businesses. Lastly, these road closures have been incredibly divisive in local communities, and have been implemented in a hugely one-sided manner. Other than that, I wish you all a peaceful lead-up to the next lockdown..!

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
pearsonville replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Ho James et al, I don't know if this has been covered or not (I did look...) But given the remarks on here regarding the Northcroft Rd Market, and the fact that the (cough) NHS App keeps reminding me that 'SE22 area risk level is HIGH' has anyone implemented such a simple this as has been done in California? i.e. Street signage in visible warning colours just to make people more constantly aware of the situation, e.g. like the one below? -
Our MP Helen Hayes is no longer a shadow minister

If I had any criticism of Helen Hayes, it would be that she is not a Tory MP. Because if she was, I would be able to send her multitudinous scathing emails, and attending her surgeries, demanding that the Government start putting the good of the nation ahead of its own agenda and the agenda of its donors. -
I recommend Annie (can't remember her surname). She is a professional tailor/seamstress who does very good work. Ph.07956 527 824 Steve

So far, the parcel I've been expecting has logged just under 500 miles :-( From Essex coast pickup point To - Coventry - National Hub sorting office To - To - London S.E. Depot - Crayford To - SE22 - 'REFUSED DELIVERY' I put that in Caps because it is NOT true,we've been waiting for this package To - London S.E. Depot - Crayford To - Coventry - National Hub sorting office for re-delivery So, the best possible case is that the parcel then has another 115 mile journey just to get back to me (or, to wherever they tried to deliver on Monday...) :-o At least Hermes/DPD know how to find my address

I don't often look at this forum, so a bit late with this. I sa the leak too, and knocked on the door of the flat to let them know. The tenant said that the owner was aware, and 'was going to do something about it..' I told the tenant that when similar happened to me, the cellar started to flood quite quickly. Tenant: It's Okay, we don't have a cellar. Me: what's this coal scuttle in the front step then? Tenant:........ Got out my handy torch & shone it down the coal scuttle plate... One Cellar, half full of water (a lot of the conversions just wall off the (dirty, nasty) cellar, not realising how much storage is down there) I mentioned electrics/rot/subsiding floor supports. Strangely, t'was fixed the next morning :-)))

Or alternatively; http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-make-fresh-pasta I do have a pasta machine, but I don't make pasta often, so of course it lives in a cupboard. Then I learnt how to make pasta this way and realised that the machine could be redundant. Also this is more satisfying (although I'd use a food processor to make the dough initially). :-o

Last, last word, Check that there aren't 2 (or more) Anti-Virus programs installed. This causes major conflict as they both interfere with each other. Steve
