  1. I realised I posted the website in my reply, so I have edited and removed it, and now posted in the Business Section. I really hope that this has calmed some of the cyber ire I've been feeling. Please try and remember, I'm just a first time business person who is trying to do their best for their business. I've clearly upset some people because of this post, that wasn't my intention. I was just trying to get the message out. Next time I'll read 'the rules' before saying anything.
  2. Hi hpsaucey, Yes, the website is now in the 'Business Section' we'd love to see you for a class, or just pop in to say 'hi' if you like. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1287298 Thanks for the support. In the name of diplomacy, I'd like to offer everyone who has taken offence (by this I mean those who have already posted on this thread) at (1) my misleading subject line (2) making a mistake and posting in the wrong section (3) trying to explain myself (4) my comments about laughing at people's jibes and finally (5) the article, who's questions we answered honestly. This is an honest and genuine offer, send me a pm and I'll arrange it for when you come in. I extend this offer to you hpsaucey too.
  3. No I'm not actually. That comment has given me another chuckle. Thank you.
  4. Hijack? Haha are you serious?? I made 1 post! Haha that comment has actually cracked me up. Posting something in the wrong section - somebody shoot me will they? Haha
  5. Hi everyone, I posted this link because I thought the readers of edf might be interested in the article about a new local business in the area (admittedly maybe my subject line wasn't best chosen - I could've explained it more I suppose). I did not write the piece, all the quotes are genuine, and it was written by a member of the editorial team of the evening standard, whom I had never met before the interview took place. Just to make it clear this is not an advertising piece, and we had no control over the headlines used. Make of it what you will, but hopefully some people will have enjoyed it, or maybe even found it helpful to know about. Ianr, she is very well balanced actually, I'd be happy to bring her round your house to meet you if you want?

  7. Hello everyone, Really sorry for any confusion but I hadn't read the t&cs of edf (school boy error) and my posts were removed. Yes, we are having a taster yoga day next Saturday 22nd feb. We're on the 2nd floor in b block. All the details are on twitter or Facebook: /yogarisepeckham @yogarisepeckham Hope to see you there.

  9. I think they're aluminium so cool, thanks
  10. Hello, I'm about to make a load of furniture from scaffold tubes and boards, but have just realised that I've forgotten to get a couple of the pieces cut before being sent to me. Can anyone tell me whether I can fit a metal cutting blade into my makita wood circular saw to cut them myself? I really don't want to go down the 'trial and error route'.... If not, any helpful tips on how I can do it. I'm trying to save costs so buying an angle grinder isn't high on my wish list of things to do. Cheers Sean
  11. Hi all, I recently emailed the council to question this charge too, and this is the response I got: To clarify the term block is used by Southwark to define the building in which your property is within. So whether it be a flat within a large storey block or a flat within a Victorian house the definition is known as a block. The block lighting charge was invoiced to leaseholder following an electrical testing that took place to street properties borough wide. I have copied below some further information in regards to the electrical testing work. To comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations (EWR), Periodic Electrical Installation Testing is carried out at recommended intervals to ascertain the electrical installation is still in a satisfactory condition and hence is safe to leave in service Landlords and Employers have a legal responsibility to comply with the EWR, and could be prosecuted in the event of an incident, if it was seen reasonable practicable steps had not been undertaken ( Testing being seen as a practicable step). Evidence of the testing of electrical installations is seen as a high risk issue in fire risk assessments The main purpose of Electrical Periodic Testing is to detect so far as reasonably practicable, any defects impairing or likely to impair safety of the installation ? Safety of persons against the effects of electrical shocks & burns ? Protection against damage to property by fire and heat arising from an installation defect ? Confirmation that he installation is not a danger or deteriorated so as to impair safety ? Identification of any non-compliances, or installation defects which may give rise to danger
  12. Hi there, We live right next to Rye Hill Park on Peckham Rye itself. On the whole it seems fine. Don't see many unsavoury types around. It can be quite quiet, which I'm not sure is a good or a bad thing. i guess it depends on you! I did park my car around there before and someone stole the battery on account of the car being so crap, but thats about it. these things happen everywhere.
  13. that post was from Arnieberger. Logged in as my partner by mistake! whoops
  14. Thanks everyone, you have no idea what your kind posts mean. I really want to take the plunge, but have a natural trepidation as I'm sure understand.
  15. I could say the same thing to you tallulah71. You don't have to read about it, or post about it. Just because you don't want to read about it, doesn't mean others don't want to - judging by the amount of responses, I would say some do.
  16. haha piss off Timmy. I was in my PJ's. No time to get changed!
  17. I'm afraid my description of her wouldn't be very good - old ugly woman with a jack Russell, is about as good as I can do. I would've gone after her, but I was up stairs and by the time I got down, put my shoes on and gone outside, she probably would've been miles away. Very annoying. Anyway, I believe in karma, and I'm sure she'll get hers. The thing about cats is that you can't really control them, they do what they want, which is part of the attraction right? But dogs you can definitely control when and where they poo. If they do poo somewhere they shouldn't, clear it up!
  18. How would you like it if I came and had a crap in your front garden? This was no accident either as I saw that you were trying to hide from view behind our hedge. When I banged on the window you still had time to stop your dog, or clear up afterwards, but no - you looked up at me and walked away. You are pond life.
  19. Brilliant. Really helpful, thanks. Why even bother posting?
  20. Hi all, I'm looking for some inspiration. I'm organising a stag do, and want to know some fun/silly dares to do while we're out drinking. We're all in our thirties, so we're not interested in it all being about the drinking. Indeed, most of these dares will be just to give us a laugh, so that said person can avoid having to drink. I think that you get the picture. Any stories, or suggestions welcome. I just want to create as many laughs as possible on the day. Pm me or post, would love to hear from you! Cheers and merry christmas! Sean
  21. Does anyone know who the current landlord of the grove vale library that will be replaced is? I'd like to get in touch with them. Best, Sean

In response to this, I didn't have time to check as I had to jump on the bus to get to my footy match in time. But yes, the following day, the misses did call out the rac before looking under the hood as I was at work. To be fair, I would've known, but not tried to replace it....
  23. I thought it was odd when it didn't start the other day. Call the rac and imagine my surprise to see that the battery wasn't even there! It's not an expensive thing, so don't really care, but just telling everyone that we got it changed recently and a bloke was hanging around asking the rac man to fix his car....could be related? I don't know, just goes to show how crap the car is, if that's the only thing they could find worth nicking! Sorry for another negative post, I'm actually pretty philosophical about these things....they happen....
  24. People eating with their mouths open. Makes me feel sick.
