I realised I posted the website in my reply, so I have edited and removed it, and now posted in the Business Section. I really hope that this has calmed some of the cyber ire I've been feeling. Please try and remember, I'm just a first time business person who is trying to do their best for their business. I've clearly upset some people because of this post, that wasn't my intention. I was just trying to get the message out. Next time I'll read 'the rules' before saying anything.

Hi everyone, I posted this link because I thought the readers of edf might be interested in the article about a new local business in the area (admittedly maybe my subject line wasn't best chosen - I could've explained it more I suppose). I did not write the piece, all the quotes are genuine, and it was written by a member of the editorial team of the evening standard, whom I had never met before the interview took place. Hello everyone, Really sorry for any confusion but I hadn't read the t&cs of edf (school boy error) and my posts were removed. Yes, we are having a taster yoga day next Saturday 22nd feb. There will be 4 x 45 min classes starting at 10, 11.30, 1 and 2.30pm. All you have to do is turn up and enjoy. Hello, I'm about to make a load of furniture from scaffold tubes and boards, but have just realised that I've forgotten to get a couple of the pieces cut before being sent to me. Can anyone tell me whether I can fit a metal cutting blade into my makita wood circular saw to cut them myself? I really don't want to go down the 'trial and error route'.... If not, any helpful tips on how I can do it. I'm trying to save costs so buying an angle grinder isn't high on my wish list of things to do. Cheers Sean

Hi all, I recently emailed the council to question this charge too, and this is the response I got: To clarify the term block is used by Southwark to define the building in which your property is within. So whether it be a flat within a large storey block or a flat within a Victorian house the definition is known as a block. The block lighting charge was invoiced to leaseholder following an electrical testing that took place to street properties borough wide. I have copied below some further information in regards to the electrical testing work. To comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations (EWR), Periodic Electrical Installation Testing is carried out at recommended intervals to ascertain the electrical installation is still in a satisfactory condition and hence is safe to leave in service Landlords and Employers have a legal responsibility to comply with the EWR, and could be prosecuted in the event of an incident, if it was seen reasonable practicable steps had not been undertaken ( Testing being seen as a practicable step). Evidence of the testing of electrical installations is seen as a high risk issue in fire risk assessments The main purpose of Electrical Periodic Testing is to detect so far as reasonably practicable, any defects impairing or likely to impair safety of the installation ? Safety of persons against the effects of electrical shocks & burns ? Protection against damage to property by fire and heat arising from an installation defect ? Confirmation that he installation is not a danger or deteriorated so as to impair safety ? Identification of any non-compliances, or installation defects which may give rise to danger

Hi there, We live right next to Rye Hill Park on Peckham Rye itself. On the whole it seems fine. Don't see many unsavoury types around. It can be quite quiet, which I'm not sure is a good or a bad thing. i guess it depends on you! I did park my car around there before and someone stole the battery on account of the car being so crap, but thats about it. these things happen everywhere.

I could say the same thing to you tallulah71. You don't have to read about it, or post about it. Just because you don't want to read about it, doesn't mean others don't want to - judging by the amount of responses, I would say some do.
