I'd be happy with a Sainsbury's as it's on my way home from work. I hope that rumour is true! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But so are the four or five other independant grocery stores on that strip and the famous badger bakery which have been there for years, I wonder how many of those stores will survive a sainsbury's on the doorstep we may end up with more empty shops at this end of lordship lane than we started with, has anyone considered that?

My fiancee is an American. She has had the benefit of health insurance paid for by her fathers employers, she is currently studying for her Phd in pharmacology, she is whole heartedly in favour of health reforms in the US, although there are problems in our health system it is a system that is open to anyone in need of life saving treatment and that is such a positive thing.I am very proud of that and so is she. It seems to me the bashing of the Uk health system by the yanks is mainly down to ignorance by the main part of the population, and greed by the massive healthcare lobby who make trillions of dollars a year and who are activley encouraging the NHS bashing by feeding disinformation to the majority of the populas who know no better and it is in there political interest to do so. I personally hope the reforms get through although it is doubtful that they will with such powerful opposition, and I hope Obama doesn't lose his post or popularity with the common person because of what I believe is a genuine belief on his part that its for the common good and betterment of the American populas.

Endangered species - does it matter?

I listened to a young girl of 13 give a talk on the kind future we are creating for her and her peers. She is also worth quoting: "If you don't know how to fix it then stop breaking it" ----------------------------------- I saved that speech to my you tube favourites, I thought it was very powerful and the girl was very eloquent. here's the link if anyone is interested. hugs -
Support for whistleblowing nurse struck off by NMC

I also wouldn't say anyone has defended the panel, people have just raised a couple of details that are relevent and worrying. The question is, do the ends justify the means? In this case I'd say the answer is yes. However, it is a slippery slope, and if everyone decides that they are going to make a judgement call on the confidentiality rules, based on what they think is right, then it's all going to go to sh!t. ----------------------------------------------- hear hear! -
Why is it that these Traffic Wardens are allowed to continue with this behaviour without punishment... -------------------------------------------- can you imagine how hard it is to recruit/keep traffic wardens?? Of course they wont be punished. But then there must be such a high turnover of them that proper and correct training just gets lost in the mix. I don't know any traffic wardens but I don't suppose many of them last more than a few months, what a bad news job to have to do, it must be quite soul destroying.......poor things.(arf arf)

Thats a shame as my missus (mum to be) was looking for somewhere to go swimming, is there anywhere that has specific mum to be swim sessions locally? Do they even exist as i am sure she would like to meet up with some other girls in the same boat and get some time with a weightless bump. -

It seems I was a little over the top with my post last night on this thread and some what unkind to lord lane, it has been pointed out that perhaps I should not shoot the meesenger or use unkind language in an open forum. I have to say that in hindsight I agree with that and would therefor like to offer an apology to lord lane. sorry iain.

This sucks anus. What has East Dulwich done to deserve another ugly blight of a supermarket under our noses, don't they syphon off enough money from local communities/small shopkeepers with out having to be here too, what's wrong with the one on dog kennel hill? Don't they make enough money? I am no anti capitalist quite the contrary but with such a vibrant community there must be other businesses the landlord could do business with? What a sell out. thanks greedy bollox love you too.

Whereas my sample group were all human and there were nearly enough for a five-a-side soccer team. Provided you had a 'rush' goalie. ------------------------------------ class comedy.
