The CPZ side effects of difficulties for visitors' parking is compounded if the CPZ doesn't make it easier to park in the evenings. I live in Nutbrook just a street away from yours. It is in the evenings we have as many problems, sometimes more, as during the day. Have you any ideas why we have so many cars parking in the evenings around our part of the area?

This bus diversion affects the small traders significantly as well as train station and bus users. The Rye Lane Traders Association - http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/RLTA, Peckham Vision - http://www.peckhamvision.org and Copeland Park - https://www.copelandpark.com - asked the Council in the autumn to get a temporary bus stop on both Copeland Rd and Consort Rd but we heard this reason for not doing it on Copeland Rd only in December. The negative comments by bus users are just what we predicted for inevitable and right reasons. The unhelpful pavement widening without discussion with locals, who could have told them how important Copeland Rd is to town centre diverted traffic, has all been done since the last major diversions. As this one is going on for a whole year or more should we all ask for the pavements to be changed to accommodate a bus stop on Copeland Rd (now it seems one has been agreed on Consort Rd)? It won?t be the last time a diversion is needed in the next decades. Possibly the best way to get an effective result on this is for everyone who is inconvenienced to email the relevant elected representatives, and CC to Southwark News. If a flood of emails from negatively affected locals gets to them they are more likely to negotiate with TfL and get the gas companies doing the disruptive work to contribute to the cost of creating the place for the bus stop. If you agree, you could email your experience and comments to all the relevant representatives. You just have to tell them what it is doing to your own journey, whatever that is, and ask them to support action to get a temporary bus stop on Copeland Road and Consort Road. I would presume these > would be moved on under a CPZ. Hi Alex - Thanks. I park almost every day in the evening and have this problem. Just got in (9pm) and got the last space in the street. I don't notice a lot of space that would be freed by commercial vehicles at this time. They almost all look like domestic cars. Also, though there are thoughtless or selfish parkers, I don't get the sense that better parking would free up more spaces beyond one or two at most. This is a street that is nose to tail parking almost all evening every day.

I frequently can't find a place to park in the evenings long after a CPZ would have ended. Could this CPZ solve that? To anyone else - do you have any experience of CPZ's solving car parking scarcity after 6.30pm?

A few weeks ago I asked Dulwich Community Council Chair and Rye Lane Ward councillors if they knew of any CPZ plans covering this part of the area and they said they did not.   8. I have been at the surgery for 45 years. A huge shock to be told I am being excommunicated at such short notice. Has anyone found guidance to an appeal process? At least to get an extension of time to find another GP.

Until recently the Bussey Building has been the tallest building in Peckham town centre commercial area and the Conservation Area Appraisal report notes that the character of the Conservation Area is of 2-4 storey buildings. These are not generally thought of as 'high rise'. What did you have in mind in relation to that?

  13. What does it feel like for East Dulwich residents to have Peckham on the doorstep and going through significant changes? I live on the boundary between, in a part of Peckham (Bellenden) very like East Dulwich. I have lived here for over 40 years and so I feel fully part of both places. The emergence of the EDF 10 years ago was difficult for residents in our area as we don't really feel that south west Peckham is a separate place. It's obvious at Peckham Rye station watching people stream off the trains and dispersing in all directions that that part of Peckham is a very local place for people who live all around Peckham whether in SE22, or SE5 as well as many parts of SE15. So I imagine and hope that many East Dulwich residents will feel part of the Peckham Festival as a very local happening of relevance to us all. This is the result of one of many sleights of hand from the Council to recover from their disastrous approach to the station site planning during 2012/13 which led to the notorious Weston Williamson plan to demolish everything and build 5-7 storey housing blocks and clear out all the businesses alongside and behind the station at once: http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Peckham_Rye_Station_Gateway/Jan-Sep_2014#Network_Rail_plans_reveal_total_demolition_18th_January_2014 They then said they would 'codesign' it with local people (just before the 2014 local elections). But then two years of obfuscation since then has resulted in a plan for the new square being approved with no relationship to all the other integral parts of it - this includes step free access for the station, and design of the public realm in the immediately adjoining streets! All objections that the details of the related parts of the station site had to be part of a whole have been brushed aside by the Council to give planning permission. All the other parts are probably being dealt with behind the scenes but in spite of the promise to 'codesign' the station site, no one knows anything. How well they fit together or when remains to be seen. This is how the Planning system operates now unfortunately.

It is already being transformed into the Peckham Levels temporarily. That is when we need to keep alive the possibility that they will consider its long term future in maybe 3 years time when Peckham Levels has shown what the building can be.
  25. Yes, the Pop Community lease is just for the next 5 years.
