  1. A vegetarian won't eat off a barbeque which has had meat on. Also most veggie burgers contain gluten.
  2. Are we going back to weekly collections? Some people have suggested this in their posts.
  3. Barbequed veg. Can also find gluten frree buns from Sainsburys. The health food shop in crystal palace sells 'dragonfly' burgers which are vegetarian and gluten free (amd do not contain dragonflies). Not sure about garlic. You'll have to look at the ingredients. You may be able to find out online. Cheese OK too. You could do meringue, cream and fruit for desert.
  4. You can't put it in the brown bin as there is the hazard of toxoplasmosis. Also if you put it in the green bin and recycle the rest the proportion of cat litter to general waste means that your general waste becomes hazardous waste. The council don't know what we should do about cat litter and nappies at the moment and are getting back to me.
  5. I have spoken to the council again. Apparently if we are disposing of nappies and cat litter and this takes up a large proportion of our general waste (as we're now meant to be recycling everything else) it is no longer classed as domestic general waste and becomes clinical or hazardous waste. This becomes an issue as it can't be disposed of normally. At the moment they usually only get this kind of waste from GPs etc and it has to be signed off by district nurses. They are looking into this but I imagine as other people in Southwark have babies / cats I'm not the only one with this problem. They can't expect us to have hazardous waste outside for 2 weeks at a time. They may need us to incorporate our recycling back into our general waste to make it general waste instead of hazardous waste but will get back to me about this.
  6. I phoned the council and they sai put it in the green bin and if needed request an additional green bin. I will have all he neighbourhood cats using my garden as a toilet with the smell! I am tempted to get rid of the blue bin now as I don't want 4 bins in my garden.
  7. I'll be recycling my blue boxes in the blue bin. Does food waste go straight in the brown bin or in a bag first? Just thinking we might get rats / flies. ALso does used cat litter go in the brown bin? If it still goes in the green bin it will smell quite bad if collected every 2 weeks.
  8. Just glad t's not another Sainsburys. We're surrounded.

  10. We used the Amby hammock until around 9 months and found it very good. Tried to transfer her to a cot at 6 months and she refused but at 9 months no problem.
  11. Hi. Please add me to the mailing list too. I'm due in November. It'll be my second. Jane
  12. Our tomatoes have blight and all the ones that don't are green
  13. I'd like to see some big fruit and veg stalls giving a good alternative to supermarket shopping.
  14. Dear James, The Dulwich estate are very difficult in allowing anyone who lives there to change their property if it changes the way it looks. They won't allow solar panels if they are visible (which they will be if the sun can see them). Can you do anything to overide their decision? Jane
