We use bulb after a really bad experience with previous suppliers. Bulb are green energy, reasonably priced, ethical and have really good customer service. For me, being able to get hold of someone to quickly adress something is so important. They give regular updates so we switch our payment as and when required

Dogs are apparently allowed to bark for 15 minuets continuously of each hour for 6 continuous hours every single day long term before it is considered a nuisancewworth investigating. If they nod off on hour 5 the cycle is broken and needs to start again. Councils don?t get involved without this evidence but if provided they and also proved on their investigation might request the owner got a behavioristetc for the dog. Perhaps sell up and move and offer to walk the dog during house viewings.

If the cat enjoys being hosed and goes back for more I would just let it continue.

Dogs being nicked from outside Sainsbury East Dulwich
Fly replied to PeckhamRose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not sure what people are supposed to do to not be cruel to a dog. Leave them at home they may get more upset than coming for the walk and waiting outside a few moments. I would personally welcome dogs in Sainsbury's until the thief is caught so long as they stay on a lead and any mess is cleared up. Maybe Sainsbury's could have special dog free hours for the phobic or a happy hour when they could go unleashed. -
Children's Party recommendation: Captured on the Rye
Fly replied to akc74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We had a party 2 years ago for the children at the shop and again this weekend but at home. We invited the whole class. Lou and his assistant took charge of all the kids and kept them entertained for over 3 hours with t shirt printing and spin painting. There were 25 tshirts made. The kids were boisterous and with a sugar high from all the candy floss but they were able to remain calm and made it a stress free party. They were also very good around our disabled child and took measures to ensure safety at all times. We would definitely recommend. -

Thames water came and said their manhole is ok. However paving surrounding it has a crack. Hosing into the crack goes straight into the depths of the sewers. They suggest repaying the garden but I can't see how this can be any more than cosmetic. Surely the sewer gases can get through pretty paving too. Any suggestions?

A few weeks ago we were visited by a man who wanted to do something to the manhole in our garden due to the neighbours having a blocked toilet. We have since had a sewer smell from the manhole. The paving around is cracked but has been for a while. What needs doing to get rid of the smell? Does the manhole cover need replacing, the paving need relaying or something else?

Street Cycle Store (at the end of Thorncombe Road)
Fly replied to ed_pete's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So you can only get 2 bikes per household. So if you have 3 cyclists in the house you can't do this so still need a car. -
Henslowe Road Title Deeds With Fence Responsibilities

I am responsible for both. -
They did not email a definite date. I am willing to pay again but worried that I will lose another ?16.
-
The problem is if there is no way to contact them apart from an email which they do not reply to and a phone they don't answer. I could pay again but don't want the same to happen again and don't want to leave stuff outside for unknown time in the rain.

I booked a bulky waste collection to get rid of a mattress. It is an online form where you list 10items and pay ?16. I was told via emailI had not put in my address. I wrote back confirming my address and also wrote about an easel that needed collection but as the form only lists certain items it could not be listed. I received no reply or date when they were coming. I therefore put nothing in my garden except the old barbecue (there anyway) which was item 10 and less important than the stuff cluttering up my house. They arrived today while I was clearly at home but did not knock on the door. They took the barbecue but none of the other items which included a mattress which was the main reason for needing the collection. I was home. I saw from my window them taking the barbecue. I banged on the window and tried to call out to stop them but they ran away and drove off in their van. I followed down the street waving my hands and calling but they continued driving. I tried phoning but they said I should complain formally. The complaints number says call back later as they are bust and hangs up. This seems so unacceptable. I am trying to responsibly chuck out rubbish.

Park them in. Then park them out the next time. Leave a car so they cannot get into their garden for months. Deny ownership. Meanwhile plant a few fast growing trees in their garden.

It is too much physically for Me to do that. I got the new mattress to help with my bad back! Please let me know how you get on renata and thanks.

Requirements for using the bulky waste collection service ? Southwark?s bulky waste collection service can ONLY be used for household waste from your own household. It cannot include items from your business, or from your tenants, if you are a landlord. ? Items must be no more than 180cm in any direction. Larger items can be broken down, but must be tied securely together, so they can be lifted as a single item. ? You must be able to present your items for collection at ground level, where they can be easily found, by 6.00 am on the morning of collection. They must not cause a danger or an obstruction to anyone else. ? Items must be safely accessible without moving other items out of the way at the time of collection. Items including glass (such as glass table tops, mirrors and TVs) must be wrapped securely to prevent injury. ? The waste must not include any hazardous materials, such as chemicals, paint, oils or solvents, or asbestos ? Find out about free hazardous waste collections. ? Not all wastes can be included in a bulky waste collection ? See the list of items we can collect. ? Only the items you include on this collection request will be taken. ? You don?t have to be at home for a collection, but you must make sure the item can be easily found and removed. ? The service costs ?16 for up to 10 items, You will need a valid credit or debit card to make the payment. ? You can cancel a booking after it has been made, but the fee is not refundable. This is because vehicles and crews are allocated to each collection at the time of booking and there is a cost to the Council. ? This form should not be used to report dumped rubbish or furniture. Please use the street cleaning report form as this will ensure the dumped items are cleared and investigated quickly. ? You must have a valid email address to make this request online. The information you provide will be used fairly and lawfully and Southwark Council will not knowingly do anything which may lead to a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Sorry, I meant to say, they will not collect anything over 180 and my ( and most mattresses) are 200cm. It is too heavy to drag and do not hVe transport to get rid of it.

Southwark bulky waste collection is now online and charges! I want to get rid of a mattress but it is 160x200 and they will not pick up anything over 180cm (edited). Can anyone suggest how to get rid of it or better still get rid of it for me if rate reasonable.
