  2. I have done three in my time- and it always comes out at around ?6000k
  3. I vote for the Maxi Cosi Axiss.. has saved my back!!
  4. We didn't get into DVIS and we were in Ruskin Walk. About 800m... so it must be around the 600m radius mark. using that link earlier you can work out where potentially you need to live..
  5. heres a way to find the radius of a location http://www.freemaptools.com/radius-around-point.htm?clat=51.45074422289912&clng=-0.0859379768371582&r=0.56&lc=FFFFFF&lw=1&fc=00FF00
  6. Hi motorbird83 - your logic sounds spot on. i assume you went full services with the architect? did you go for one main contractor or various sub-contractors? would be interested in your experiences.. did you also move out - as a total refurb sounds like hell... our plan is similar but i have budgeted in a 6 month rental to ease the disruption to missus and kids... interested to know about your experiences with architects, builders etc.. also suppliers for kitchens, bathrooms etc.. PM me if easier than sharing publicly appreciate it
  7. Hi My daughter used to go to herne hill School and we loved it. Great teachers and a lovely atmosphere. After kindergarten we decided to apply for JAPS an alleyns and was offered JAPS. Very happy with the school, it is a Competitive school but our daughter is excelling and we are happy. Herne hill school is great but only goes to 7
  8. Sounds like a plan. Also recovering from an ACL surgery done playing football. So it's been 16 months.
  9. We had a nanny for 2 years and she was on ?10 net. We paid her NI and tax on top. That seemed to be the standard rate when we researched. She was looking after 2 children as part of a nanny share. I wouldn't have comprised on quality care, we worked it out to be better thank nursery costs. They are in your environment and its personal care. She has now gone and our daughter has turned out beautifully and that in part is due to our nanny. She spent more time with our daughter than we did and ?10 per hour is worth paying. We now have another child and I am considering poaching her back from her new employer by upping her rate to ?11. I believe that to be a fair rate as it has been 3 years when we were paying her ?10. Add inflation and ?11 seems reasonable. We also had to give her paid holidays. It wasn't cheap but totally worth it for peace of mind and a well brought up child with great manners and respect for others.
  10. Our daughter goes to South London Dance School in Herne Hill.. next to the Sainsburys
  11. Thanks ParkView for your comments - but everything in moderation is the key... In todays world, technology cannot be ignored- and starving your children of this interaction will only make them hunger for it more and normally behind your back... Schools are also encouraging all types of media and social interaction and they will eventually have to move on from slate boards to ipads one day
  12. Good Luck.. we registered our child at birth and got replies about 18 months later.. we did eventually get into Dulwich Montessori at St Stephens Church. lovely place and then eventually went to Herne Hill School when she turned 3 for Kindergarten
  13. My daughter was at Herne Hill School this year - she had a fantastic time in Kindergarten and would have gone to Reception - but she got into JAPS, so decided to take that route as it saves having to apply at 7. We loved Herne Hill School - it caters for all abilities, teachers are lovely and the environment is second to none. If you have questions then you can PM me.
  14. The best one is surely LunchBox - Monkey Preschool Lunchbox.. my daughter has played it non stop for over a year
  15. not sure how to break it to the missus.. but table tennis here we come..!
  16. i have also visited Rocca in the last week - actually went on the busy easter weekend - was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and good food. Pizza was good - pasta was so so - so more to be done on that front. Prosecco was good etc. After the experience of dining in Le Piaf (previous occupants) this place makes a refreshing change and adds a bit of buzz to the Dulwich Village life - which was bordering on the side of a sleep induced coma. So i will visit again and support the establishment as it is local and will give feedback to the manager when i visit next which i believe is what zebbedee should do too.
