I hope that if someone calls 999 there will be a swift response... I must admit I can never get through if I need the emergency services, and the response time is very poor!

I find the staff are fine, very tolerant of me when I take my son in, and they always seem to give me a free drink if I go with a girlfriend. We normally have breakfasts or a snack and find the service and quality and price is fine. I don't know why others seem to have a problem..

Two Libdem councillors have apologised for not replying and said they will take the matter up, conservative cllr for college ward has fwded query to ED cllrs and said he will take it up.

Police have now replied: I apologise that you received no reply to your earlier email I also share your concern that parents are stopping or parking on the zigzags infront of Heber school. Officers on my team have on several occasions attended the school at opening or closing times (this subject to shift times) and have spoken to parents. This is something that we will continue to do, as I am sure you understand on some occasions we are unable to attend due to other commitments elsewhere on our ward. We have three other schools that we take policing responsibility for and I have to split my officers between them. Parking or stopping on yellow zigzags infront of schools during school opening hours is an offence against section 36 of The Road Traffic Act 1988. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have other issues to raise.

Have also contacted Duncan Jackson, Safer Neighbourhoods policing, for the fourth time.

Done, along with Kim Humphreys, Lewis Robinson and Michelle Holford (Conservative) Will report back!

I'm going to contact all three again, will let you know how it goes! As my partner lives in a different ward, we'll try them too, I'll report back.

It;s Heber. I contacted all three councillors, twice, 10n days apart.. so there really is no excuse for no reply from any of them! I also contacted the police and they have had police there a couple of days. But as traffic wardens coem down to the council, a reply from the councillors would be nice. Won't be voting for them, that's for sure. Obviously have other things of interest, rather than the concenrns of us ED denizens!!

Richard Thomas Liberal Democrat James Barber Liberal Democrat Jonathan Mitchell Liberal Democrat I've written twice to all three now, via the write to them website, about my concerns about cars parking on yellow zig zags outside my son's school. I haven't had the courtesy of a reply. Is this typical? It's very disappointing! Can someone tell me how to contact the Leader of the Libdems? I thought they were supposed to be community focussed!

Don't think Jacks opens till 10 How about the Green?

It's just sad that this was being talked of at the start of the year, and the Summer has been and gone. Let's hope it's in place by next year. Same with the cafe... why wasn't it open for the Summer?

It's Jacks cafe for me. Homemade cakes, good service, child friendly, and always plenty of change from a tenner, for two of us. I was put off the Blue Mountain a few years ago by their poor service, and avoid the place now. Le Chandelier sounds far too pricey!

The nursery at Heber is absolutely brilliant.

New legislation comes in an the end of October which does basically enforce recycling, yes.

Well I must admit when I take my little boy there, he invariably has egg and chips, as he occasionally has as a treat. As it's quite expensive, I like to get something I know he likes. I am quite fond of their veggy breakfasts, myself, despite being a pretty healthy eater usually. What is good about the cafe is: free tap water, good quality real icecream, and fruit slush made with real fruit and no colourings. They also sell fruit and dried fruit. They also do meals like soup, pasta etc for both adults and kids. It's easy to get a healthy meal there if you want. Can't see what the fuss is about. They also provide toys.

I do suggest with respect that those who post all day every day, bums obviously never leave their PC chairs, occasionally pause and think before they jump on posts made by newer posters. Maybe as Sean implies, Dulwich Mum is very droll and erudite, and if I spent my every waking hour on this forum I'd be aware and cut her some slack. But I don't, and I judge people by what I see in front of me. Having her make a snide remark at me, she is just rude, I'm sorry!

dulwichmum Wrote: . There > really never is any excuse for nastyness. We can agree on that. I made a valid point about boring SE22 mag.. you responded by making nasty remarks to me. So I suggest you take your own advice. End of.

Smacks a bit of the playground, to me

I love Chopsticks chilli tofu... and they are good with children. Crispy seaweed was awful when we went, not at all crispy, and we sent it back
-
It was all run by volunteers... was fun but a biuncy castle would have been nice

Well, I must say I picked up SE22 magazine today, and it seems to have descended into drivel. Nothing of interest in there at all, except some brownnosing to this forum, which is presumably why it has found favour over Dulwich Life.

I got two cards just before Xmas saying parcels were waiting for me at the sorting office, but when I went there they couldn't find them! As I wasn't sure what they might be, I couldn't complain - the person sedning needs to claim. The guy who comes to the desk was quite upset about it but couldn't work out what had happened.

James, who runs Jacks, is usually in there himself, and he has small children. Hence a) not opening all hours b) very child friendly cafe and menu c) no slip in standards that you see in some other ED eateries!
