  1. Thanks everyone , only just surfaced after the most incredible night !!!!! espelli thank you so much, I've PM'd you.
  2. Thank you, I'll keep everything crossed.
  3. Hi I'm performing in tonight's Opening Ceremony and I would love to have a DVD of it. If anyone has a recordable DVD player PLEASE could you record it for me and I will pay for it. It starts at 9 - 12 or 12.30 BBC 1.
  4. What Loz said........
  5. Just wanted to say have a great time to anyone involved and for all performing tomorrow night it's going to be absoloutely AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Can't express how exciting performing last night was, the audience response was incredible with only half of the 80.000 there will be on Friday. Only 3 more sleeps till the OC, excited and terrified !!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I am biased as I'm performing in it but it will be AMAZING !!!!!!!!!
  8. Applespider- I'm definitely going to book a cab for Saturday night. So far there are 5 of us coming back to Dulwich, spoke to a Stratford cab company and they're prices are ?23 for a car + extra for dropping off at different adresses and ?35ish + for a people carrier. Let me know if you want to join in.
  9. I'm definitely up for the minicab idea. There's someone in my group from Brixton who would be interested and I've posted on the Facebook page so might find some more. I'll ring some cab company's tomorrow to check prices etc.
  10. Applespider thanks for the PM. I should have read this first as you've answered my question !Trafalgar Sq or Victoria probably best option, maybe if there are a few of us heading this way we could share a cab?
  11. I've had the email but the link doesn't work so can't find out the details which is frustrating as I think will be on the field of play till the end. Have you had it? Can you get the link? My prayer for no rain last night night went unanswered, 5 hours of sogginess!!!! but was still fun.
  12. I had the WHOLE weekend off last week as my Saturday rehearsal was changed to a costume fitting call and luckily I'd had my last fitting the Saturday before. It was lovely to have to have a proper weekend but I did strangely feel a little lost! I'm at the stadium tonight ( praying for no rain as we were rehearsing in a monsoon on Tuesday !!!) then Sat/Sun 8.30-5.30.
  13. There is a high speed rail link from St Pancras to Statford International that takes 6 minutes. Trains run every 15 mins and it's free for volunteers as long as you can show your OOC ID and your Olympic Oyster card.
  14. It really depends which end of ED you are. I'm nearer the Forest Hill/ Honor Oak side so get the Overground, which has frequent trains, to Canada Water then Jubilee. Journey takes around 20 mins. For timings you also have to take into account the 20 min walk from station to stadium.
  15. Posted by the-e-dealer Today, 02:05PM You mean a handy place to leave a bomb? the-e-dealer .....Obviously security is important, I'm not disputing that in any way, just meant a place to leave your prohibited items AFTER going through airport restricted item security , which we have to do at every rehearsal, instead of destroying or throwing away volunteers belongings.
  16. The rehearsal schedule is about to get crazy, from 5 till 10pm and then the compulsarys which at the moment are from 10am to 11.30pm. Alot of people are coming straight from work and for the ones living a long way away, I've met people coming from the Midlands and further, even someone from Cornwall !!! they'll have to stay in London as too late to get home. They'll all have stuff with them, toileteries etc. Even though we have the Oyster card they are paying alot of their own money for their train fares and accomodation, it seems unfare to expect them to pay for left luggage even if the times it's open worked which in most cases it wont. On Sunday I heard people saying they were thinking of pulling out because of this problem which would be awful as we have all worked so hard. A simple solution would be to have somewhere to leave their stuff on site where they could pick it up on the way out.
  17. Thanks for the info on left luggage facility- will let my lot know. Loz, thanks for the Facebook link, found someone I know but had no idea they were also involved in the OC.
  18. I got a text at 8.15 saying no liquids over 100ml, bit late as we were supposed to start at 8.30 !! One girl had her Chanel perfume taken off her and thrown away. A girl in my group who is a proffesional drummer and who was going on to play a gig straight after rehearsal had her drumsticks taken and was told they would be destoyed !!!! After lengthy talks they weren't but............. They do need to sort this out as loads of people are travelling in from far flung places, what are they supposed to do with their stuff? At the least they should be able to pick it up on their way out.
  19. We 51s were at Dagenham yesterday, just setting off for the stadium now .I'm green bib MAR 057 if you want to say hello.
  20. Anyone going to Dagenham this afternoon?
  21. Hi thought I would start this as there seem to be alot of ED Olympic volunteers involved in some way and it would be good to just have one thread where we can make contact.
  22. Loz, yes we MAR's are on ' the field of play ' for pretty much the whole time ,yaaaay !!!! Applespider you're right about 23.46 being the last Overground, it's such a long trek back to the station ! There seem to be alot of ED'rs involved in one way or another, maybe we should have an All Olympic Volunteers thread so we can keep in touch?
  23. At the moment I'm driving to Forest Hill & getting the Overground ( when it's working !!) to Canada Water then Jubilee to Stratford. The train bit takes less than 30 mins. Not sure how to get back in the last week of rehearsals as we don't finish till 11.30 some nights, any suggestions?
  24. See you all there, I'm a MAR !!!
