Join us for a serene and relaxing hour in the West 16th Studio, where Malou of @yoga.sound.journey will guide you through a Sound Bath including some gentle movement and pranayama (breathing practices) to calm, rest and restore. What a perfect way to kick off your Valentine’s date! Sound Baths are very efficient at regulating the nervous system, helping it to shift from the sympathetic state (your body’s fight or flight/’to do’ list/on your way to a burn-out mode) to the parasympathetic state (in which you rest and digest, dream, access your memory and get your creativity to flow). The powerful sounds and vibrations of the Tibetan bowls help the brain switch from Beta (normal waking consciousness) to Theta brainwaves (the state just before falling asleep), which supports calm and regeneration. Malou is a Yoga teacher and certified Sound Therapist, working with authentic Tibetan singing bowls. £25pp Click here to book your spot. @yoga.sound.journey To ensure you enjoy the continued sense of wellbeing that is inevitable after a sound bath, why not book a table for our delicious Valentine’s Dinner Pop Up, hosted by Dee of Cooking Happy, the incredibly chef behind some out-of-this-world Thai food. The West 16th team is incredibly excited to be partnering with Verte to host a Verte Mini event! Come and join us between 2-5pm on Tuesday 16th January and swap your kids clothes. Clothing will be for children ages between 0-10. How it works: Bring along up to 10 items of kids clothes - must still be in wearable and good condition (no stains or rips or missing pieces). Claim your tokens - we have a 3 token tiered system: 1 token - TU, F&F, Primark, H&M etc. 2 tokens - John Lewis, Zara, M&S etc. 3 tokens - Jojo Maman Bebe, Little White Company, Trotters etc. Swap don't shop! Choose from the items we have in the pop up. Get a coffee, browse around, bring a friend! We are looking for donations in advance, so if you are able to, please get in touch with Jess via [email protected] to arrange a clothing collection. Click here to book your spot. About Verte London: “Our vision is to live in a world where everyone considers shopping second hand as their first port of call, before shopping for something new. We are on a mission to de-stigmatise current perception of the second hand clothing market. We want to become the ‘go to’ place for curated, high quality pre-loved or unworn pieces and to create a community for swapping amongst a fashion savvy audience. With just 30% of clothing donated to charity shops being resold, over $500bn of value is wasted every year through under-wearing and failure to recycle clothing. By extending the lifespan of clothing by just one year, we can reduce carbon emissions by 24%. Shopping doesn’t have to continue damaging the environment at the current rate, we have the opportunity to change consumer attitudes towards purchasing habits.”
