Hi EDF, I was wondering if anyone had any recent recommendations for a cockapoo breeder, hopefully near to our neighborhood. Ideally, we would like a very small scale breeder, or someone who just does it as a hobbie rather tan commercially. We are a couple in our 40s, no children, house with garden and lots of time to care for it. (I know there is a lot of controversy on buying vs adopting, but pls respect our choice to buy this time). Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Daniel

Another recommendation for Jon and his team. https://www.jonsmithscleaningservices.co.uk/ Jon came in this afternoon and cleaned all the windows in our house very quickly and effectively. He also does deep cleans of fabrics, so we arranged and he deep cleaned a velvet sofa that needed some care badly and now all the house feels taken care of. Very professional and friendly.

Mystey solved! As pointed out by a few of you - this was indeed a mistake from a council subcontractor who instals keysafes. Just a couple of emails with the council (thanks IionaM for the heads up), and they are now scheduled to come and take it off (AND fix the wall) next week. Very happy with the response from the council. It was an odd mistake to make but it seems it will be reverted 🙂

Hi EDF - another recommendation of Tony. We reached out to him finding good reviews in this forum. We had a strange leak in a window and couldnt figure out what it could be. He was happy to come do a pre-assessment (for free) - turned out to be something on our roof. He then arranged for roofers to come in and fix our roof, all within a week. Mind you all other roofers I had contacted told me they could only get started until Feb 2025. All throughout very easy to communicate with, connecting us with professional local people that do good work.

I called the lock companny and they also said it was likely this was the reason. Not sure if spending hours calling the council is going to be worth it... Sounds like I can do a few things. Call the council, leave it there a few days and see if someone realises the mistake, or take it off myself. Just a bit odd how someone can come in and drill a hole in your property without even checking...

In order to take it off (neatly), I need the access code to be able to get into the part of the case that has the screws...

Hi EDF, I live in Landcroft Rd. I came back from work yesterday and someone had installed a new keylock safe outside my door? (you can see the dust on the floor, newly installed) I own our house and we have not ordered this. I've asked the neighbours and it wasnt them either. I called the company and they said they dont do installations. What should I do? Best, Daniel

Thanks to all for the advice, very glad to have this community for these enquiries. Here is how it got resolved in case its useful for anyone in the future: I had ordered some garden waste bags, and when the Veolia person came around I just asked them, and they were more than happy to take it no questions asked. 🙂

Hi EDF, Bit of a weird one. We're clearing out our garden, and have found in there 2 extra bins: one of the large brown ones for garden waste, and a medium one for food composting. These must have been owned by the previous owner, and we dont need them. How do I give them back to the council? I cannot find anything on the website. I tried Bulky Waste collection, but they dont have a category for this...(and they say they are quite strict 'Only listed bulky items can be collected') Appreciate any guidance! 🙂 Daniel Perhaps another question for the forum would be how strict the Bulky Waste collection is. Would they take stuff that isnt necessarily spelled out in the list of items on the website? I imagine its just a van with some staff that is not paying that much attention to what they take (as long as its reasonable...) Thanks!!! 🙂

I have another great review for Jafar. Our old old old boiler broke down on a freezing Sunday. I called him in the morning and he was able to come same day. Even though our boiling was old and complicated, he was able to get it up and running. His rate is £150 per hour on a Sunday. Friendly, honest, and highly skilled. Thanks to those above me who recommended him 🙂
