  1. I see the Janda Diner Times review made it into last week's Week magazine - see photo. Useful to see the summary of the review.
  2. I went to Brockwell Lido on a hot day last summer to do some lengths. It was busy. I kept getting other people's hair, which was floating around the pool, tangled in my hands. It was gross. I'm not sure if that was unusual, or if it's always like that on a hot day.
  3. Thanks everyone for the great recommendations! I wouldn't normally go for vegan restaurants, but I've been to En Root and really liked it. Fresh and tasty. The Ritzy Cinema in Brixton also sell their food, to eat in their cafe before or after a film (I don't think they sell the whole menu that you'd find in Peckham, but there is a good choice)
  4. This is such a shame for the bridge. I wonder if anyone saw it fall, and when it was (at night?) Is the walking path through the woods still accessible?
  5. Jeremiah does a great job on our windows and I would highly recommend him. 07947 389406

  6. We live in East Dulwich and often to go Rye Lane. I know people say there are good restaurants near Rye Lane. Does anyone have recommendations for good places for lunch or dinner? We like Manze for pie & mash at lunch. And I've been to Peckham Bazaar in the past, which was excellent. Thanks!
  7. We're looking for a window cleaner to clean the windows of our terraced house in East Dulwich. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
  8. I am selling a day bed from Habitat (the frame, not the mattress) This just needs a single mattress. It can be used as a sofa or as a single bed. It's very useful as a guest bed. Frame size L200, W96.3, H71cm The gap between the floor and the frame is just over 18cm. It is a pine bed with a solid wood frame, and is strong and strudy. It is just over a year old and is in a very good condition. We are only getting rid of it because we no longer have space for it. I have taken it apart and have kept the nails and allen key in a bag. It's easy to put together with the allen key (I can show you). Habitat is selling the frame on its website for £150 - https://www.habitat.co.uk/product/9602083?clickPR=plp:1:10 I am selling it for £10. It would need to be picked up from Whateley Road in East Dulwich - SE22 9DE.
  9. Black desk chair in good working condition. £10. Adjustable height. I think you can adjust the back using the screws (see photo of the back).
  10. It's useful to see these recommendations for local gardening centres. Wondering if anyone has used the RHS online plant shop, and if you'd recommend that? Currently trying to choose some new plants for our small garden! I got some good euphorbia from Croxted Road the other day. I had asked for them a previous week, and they said they'd put some aside for me when they got some in. They did and gave me a call. It seemed a good service with friendly staff.
  11. Lheda has now been coming for over a year and has been great. She also knows which cleaning products are best to use and recommends products that we need - which have made a big difference.
  12. So Southwark Council own this building? The Belair House website says: The first floor caters for private parties, small weddings and more intimate meetings. Indeed.
  13. Holland & Barrett seem to be opening news shops in several places. They are opening a big shop on Clapham High Street, where the post office recently closed. Also on Oxford Street. So a big expansion programme perhaps.
  14. I like the Poundland. I've got loads of stuff there. I like the stationery.
  15. On the original topic - there was more of this on Whateley Road today. Same place but the other side of the road. Could be the same dogwalker as for the other nearby roads? I don't have a dog - but would have thought it's hard for owners not to notice when a dog is doing it in the middle of a pavement?
  16. I have tried to call them a few times this week, but each time it's cut off after a few rings, saying the line is 'busy'.
  17. Tony has done a great job on several jobs for us here in East Dulwich. E.g. he recently put up some blinds for us. He can do lots of different things - including fixing things, small plumbing and electrical jobs, and painting and decorating. His number is 07946 087566
  18. There have also been a few instances of it on Whateley Road recently.... Horrible.
  19. Yes I saw that too and was going to ask them what has happened (I go to those lunchtime weekday sessions regularly). Does anyone know what has happened?
  20. This is devastating news. He was a lovely man. I'm so sorry and shocked to hear this.
  21. There are a lot of posts on this forum about Norwood Roofing? How have people found them?
  22. This afternoon (Sunday 27 Oct) I left a bright pink fleece hanging on the back of a tree in Dulwich Park. I realise it's not ideal to do this, but I was going for a run and was too hot, so left it there - thinking I'd pick it up afterwards to warm up When I got back to the tree, it was gone 😞 If anyone has it, please message me on here and I'll come and get it! Or else please post it through the letter box of 71 Whateley Road, SE22 9DE. I realise someone may have thought it was abandoned. It would be great to have it back because I use it a lot and it was a gift from my mother-in-law. Thank you!
  23. I wanted to recommend our cleaner, Lheda. She has been coming to our house in East Dulwich for the past 6 months. She is very friendly and always does a super job. She speaks Portuguese (she's from Brazil) - when communicating we often use Google Translate on our phones. If you'd like to ask about her availability, you can text her - her number is 07470650100.
  24. Is this still closed? Does anyone have news?
  25. Thanks so much everyone for the recommendations. We will try Zeret and Flygerians to start with.
