  1. I like that both of our councillors seem to be posting on X less.
  2. What have the Dulwich Village Councillors done in this regard - supported recent applications or not?
  3. Surely part of the council's tenancy agreement includes provisions for ASB? The threat of violence should be something they take seriously. I would've thought it is worth raising with your councillors and MP.
  4. yes there does seem to be a drift from Labour to the Greens
  5. Everywhere around here is a slam dunk for Labour. I do wonder why thousands of fairly pointless leaflets are going out for Helen Hayes - huge majority - will no one think of the climate emergency?
  6. Maybe bring a pair of secateurs one day and trim a bramble or two? And yes, that outer circuit is for runners and dogs, and occasionally runners with dogs...
  7. Helen Hayes is perfectly fine as an MP - though calling for a Gaza ceasefire and then not voting for one when she had the opportunity an hour later was not a glorious episode.
  8. I was at the Dulwich Society meeting (I'm a member of over a decade's standing) and IMO the Chair and trustees behaved badly. Threatening the members with an en masse resignation if they didn't vote for their proposals was a real low.
  9. On this topic, at least two (likely three) of the local schools have framed the issue in a way that I feel is misleading: "If VAT is added to school fees, schools must, by law, pass this on to parents as VAT is a tax on the consumer and not the business." Should they not be saying that by law the VAT must be paid by the school to the government? There may be schools that cannot contemplate absorbing the cost and need to pass the full 20% on to parents, but that's a different matter. Any thoughts welcome...
  10. I went to a party catered by Cocotte Catering. Top notch https://www.cocottecatering.co.uk/
  11. Yeah. Secondary. We'll be using this route as renting for 6 months during building work. I'm not convinced the risk - that has been quite well outlined on this thread, esp in darker months of Oct / Nov / Dec after school - is worth it. Will look at alts Cheers will do - though I guess not every incident will be reported if it's child on child Thanks - I'd heard of similar too, basically someone pushing a cyclist over My wife says same
  12. top insight, thank you northernmonkey
  13. Thanks Malumbu but as per my OP I'm really interested in safety from the POV of muggings rather than if my kid will be safe from other cyclists (!). Bessemer Grange not relevant to my situation, FYI. Ta Thanks Sunbob, that's good to hear
  14. Wondering if Green dale is safe for kids to cycle? I see a number of commuter cyclists coming up greendale towards Champion Hill but very few children heading down towards the Village. I'd read that muggings were a problem in the past on Green dale and wondering if that's still the case eg when it's darker after school. For anyone who uses it regularly, would it be better to cut through the estate and meet Green dale at the mid point? Insights appreciated, ta.
