Tut tut, surely you know by now that reasoned argument is the clanging death knell of any thread, get thee to a trollery Huguenot!!

They used to film dodgy pub scenes in the Bedford in Balham, I often used to walk past the big silver film crew lorries on the way to the station in the morning. But then it got hugely gentrified. However I thought they did a very good job of it and kept the comedy, added a theatre and pretty huge function rooms that doubled up as a weekender cattle market (never as much fun as the swan though). I bet you Balham's forum is even more polarised than ourd

Interestingly enough someone forwarded me this movie locations website earlier today. Haven't checked it for Dulwichy stuff yet, but I see that 'The Winchester' in shaun of the dead is over in new cross gate. Monson Rd

I for one completely agree with Louisa, East Dulwich has lost all sembalnce of any 'character' now that those home counties types have taken over with their mock estuary accents and their 2.4 cars clogging up the streets bordered by well tended gardens. Once upon a time you could count on everybody having a good old sing song in the smog, chuckling about the latest cholera outbreak and drinking ourselves to death on cheap dutch gin. Bring back 'anging I say.

I'm at a wedding in Ireland (no not mine) that friday, but could do the 24th as fly back at about 6 on the saturday. most week nights are ok with me.

After the miranets come the miniarets. Is that a foxton's mini that can't be moved because it's had it's tires nicked and been put on bricks while the estate agent was busy selling a ?750,000 broom cupboard as being 'perfect for a professional couple' because the bathroom was the size of a newborn tortoise perchance? I'll go get some air shall I?

I went to Kebab & Wine myself, and due to extreme hunger went for a chicken donner no less *gasps*. No real tails to tell, no batdog or DM there sadly, maybe next time. I believe Georgia will be on the case at some point for the next one. -

Oh my god I've just had a horrible vision of some Deity that's a cross between Mammon, Bacchus, Jade and Chantelle. Perhaps they can set up the church in a newly converted Magdala where they'll worship by throwing money and alcopos through huge hooped earrings on to an altar made of lard encased in Burberry. Yeeeesh *shudders*

At the risk of getting all 'Jermaine Jackson' on yo' asses. Come on lads, handbags away, there's room enough on this forum for all opinions of the rainbow, assuming I'm not mixing my metaphors a la *Bob*'s trawling ramplings with a fine toothcomb, which I just loved ;)

Hence why I tend to avoid the cottage cheese at the Deli (or anywhere for that matter). Anyway, enough with the Welsh, i happen to like them, served up with a chilled chianti phuphuphuphuph

Indeed a good time was had, kebab and blurriness pretty much applied to the end of my night too. May it be the first of many. I added a couple of notes to Andrew's photos to help idnetify who's who. -

Ooh, I dunno, they look pretty made-up to me, no M&M heads or anything ;?) Thanks for that Andrew, and let's do it again. -

OK, some sort of red theme it is then. Hmm, perhaps should raid the girlfriends lipstick collection again. -
I have to agree. It [Thai corner cafe] is friendly and has a certain atmosphere, but I find the food really really bland. It's a favourite of my father when he comes visiting so I've been going a couple of times a year since the start of this millennium and have failed to see any improvement in that time. I guess the people who keep going back have some sort of congenital taste bud problem. I haven't tried the Pavillion but will on the strength of this. I like Buddha Jazz on Grove Lane (strictly speaking SE5) though that definitely leans towards Vietnamese it does have a couple of thai dishes.

Come on Jeremy, CAstles not ALL bad. It's great for the irish sports on sunday. The locals even lent me a quid for pint when I came up short at the bar once. Go on Wexford, you can win a game...one day....!! Oh and EdQuaywee, I take it all back

The Gowlett may be SE15 but it's so close as to hardly matter, has a pool table, the pizzas are ok, and it's a fairly understated conversion as these things go, managing to avoid gastro hell. (Lord Palmerston RIP). Time out liked it which will probably drive many of you away, but it is a good pub. Oh yes, and has a pool table, blue baize an everyfink.

Dulwich Hamlets 3 - 1 Sittingbourne *disclaimer - as I seemed to have misplaced the notes I took during the match, some or all of the facts in this match report maybe inaccurate, or indeed completely made up* The continued unusual heat of Globally Warm England ® saw the visit of Sittingbourne to Champion Hill. Form the off it was clear that the heat of the day would be reflected in the antics on pitch, with our central defender Tozer stretchered off before you could even sit down with your Bovril and burger. Both teams were clearly up for the challenge and committed would be a reasonable euphemism for some of the more brusque challenges that characterised much of the game. Sittingbourne fielded a strong midfield who were able to hold the ball and break up much of Dulwich's incisive passing game. Dulwich can be grateful that this didn't translate to all areas of the pitch, in attack the striking pair seemed lacklustre, were frequently caught offside and failed to stamp any authority on the game. In defence to there were shortcomings (no pun intended) with the left back number 3 having what can only be described as a mare of a game. Indeed it was no coincidence that our first came from a great cross down the right from the number 7 (like I said, I lost the programme and notes) who despite his current anonymity was my man of the match, met by a towering header on the edge of the 6 yard box by the number 9 (Beveny?). The second was a comedy classic, with Sol Pinnock's knackers diverting a strike into the net. Goal celebrations were far from triumphal, but the crowd appreciated the sacrifice on the stroke of half time. The first twenty minutes of the second half saw a more determined Sittingbourne side pile on the pressure with a hatful of half chances culminating in a rebound effort halving the Hamlet's lead. Fortunately for the home crowd, who having seen too many leads thrown away over the years, the goal merely served to renew the spark in the Pink and Blue's performance, as some terrific interpassing play manifested itself on the pitch, with a well deserved sealer and second from Beveny. There should have endethed the story, which makes all the more mystifying the 22 man brawl that broke out following an innocuous challenge It was a foul to be fair and a petty one at that, but hardly deserving of the reaction, firstly a punch was thrown sparking the entirety of both squads into an on-pitch frenzy where a follow-up headbutt resulted in the Hamlets reduced to 9 men for the closing moments. So yes, a bit of everything, 3 points in the bag and even handbags, that were they literally so would have been of the finest Italian handstitched kid leather. Marvellous.

It seems to be becoming the defacto date, as no other suggestions so far. I've alot on that day unfortunately so I won't be able to make it til the evening. Maybe 7:30; don't know if that's a good kick off time full stop or if people will indeed be meeting up earlier at the Mag for a bit of an LL crawl. -
i'll take my notepad down, as recently there have been too many goals for me to remember all the details

Brilliant, looks like quite a crowd headed down. Let's hope it's a good'un. oh, just one more: CHRIS DICKSON
