Excellent RD. I've invested the groats and your money in a scheme to harvest sunshine from cucumbers, unfortunately the bottom fell out of the sunshie market last week and we've lost everything. Baah.

I was going to complain about the mawkish RIPs drowning FB but thought it might make me look mean-spirited, so bravo *Bob** for getting in there first!! A 56 year old dying of cancer is a real personal tragedy but basically his vision was to paint computers pink, charge twice as much for them and get very rich out of the deal. Not quite sure why everyone seems in anyway upset about this. I'll stick to feeling the loss of Jansch's touching and inspiring music for the time being if that's ok with everyone else. *plus loving the implication that you were there first *Bob* ;)

I normally reply informing them that I have millions of pounds worth of welsh groats over the border from when I was fleeing from the patagonian liberation army and just need some account details in order be able to bring the funds into the country. Weirdy no joy so far!!

That was the brief, absoluteley true of the 6ths and 9ths, but then you'd be hard pressed to actaully find tht. It's hard enough finding bands that made it to 9 at all. Agree about most of the 3rds, though some pretty good efforts at it tucked in there. I did say it was hard, in fact it was more a musing if any existed!

My brother used to use silly string. It affects their self image and they never come back for more. Fluorescent pink works best, especially for toms.

Or reverse that.. "Unless you think there was never any evidence, but they imprisoned her anyway?" It's possible the original jurors went 'oooh cartwheels' but unlikely. As I said, I can only go on the reporting, which basically means I've no idea.

Oh Nooooo. How sad.

"Slightly more disturbing is seeing two people getting convicted for murder, not as a result of any real evidence, but because they act 'a bit funny'" Got that from a comment piece that asserted that did you Bob, or are you applying all your Italian legal system know-how to the ins and outs of the court case transcripts?

She was convicted of slander for that one. Toi be vaguely sensible for a moment (boo hiss) I get Huggers' point that there may be something of the Barry George fantasist about her, but she's no simmpleton and her behaviour was a really weird reaction to having your mate so horribly killed in the room next to you. I'm afraid I can't be as confidence as her defenders on here that it's all quite so clear cut, and it's that residual doubt which made me feel uneasy, particularly seeing how much the Kerchers were suffering and continue to lack closure on this. If iit's so obvious that the knife was a random one from a drawer then how were the jury not persuaded of reasonable doubt when it's so blindingly obvious to the more enlightened among us. And apologies to those who thought i thought she was guilty becuase she's a bit saucy or that my flippancy was distasteful, I'll remember to put the tags around it all next time, just to make it clear like. Fair point Camberwell, just me that isn't immune to the morass of specualtion and sensationalism in the press, luckily most people read court transcripts and nothing else ;-)

Hyde Park have done a pretty big one the last couple of years. If with push chairs then turn up early else a nightmare (found out the hard way!!) http://www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/ -
>>"I will bet the last pound in my pocket that not one of you can find a front page photo just of Raffaelle Sollecito" The new newcastle midfielder, i think you may have the wrong thread?

I am curious as to which bit though. That the press reporting of the case has been sensationalist, that our opinions are by and large influenced by our exposure to that reporting, or that the Knox issue of FHM will be sizzling? Just for clarity like.

boondocks perhaps?

> You do talk some b******ks some times. Christ, it's taken you 11,000 posts to notice! I just like the introduction of doubt with 'some'; very flattering and enough to get me off on a technicality I reckon ;-P

I'm not quite where you're getting this DaveR xenophobe thing Hugeunot. He doesn't exactly have posting previous for that. If memory serves me well he's mostly pedantically analytical with an interpretative leaning towards conservative (with a small c), sort of a mirror image of my socialist (with a small s) interpretative leaning of analytical pedantry.

"The discussion conducted between Matthew Wright and [the] panel of Kelly Hoppen, Christopher Biggins and Liz McClarnon was handled extremely sensitively..." You couldn't make it up!!
-
"The former journalist sparked criticism on Twitter ... " Oh no, I'd hate to be criticised on twitter, can you imagine the shame, you'd never be able to go out in public...oh wait....

Plus I'm hoping that after the controversy of X Factor's eroticdancinggate last year, that this year they'll step it up by having a "ladies who kill, look at their eyes, guilty as sin I tell ya, but get away with it because they're purdey innit, look at those eyes, phwoar", theme and Knox will duet with Louise Woodward cavorting in spray-on spandex prison-orange jump suits. That might just be me though....

Not thinks, I haven't the foggiest really, if ever there was trial by media it was this one. I think we all end up going on gut feeling fed by the baser instincts of news mongers. I'm not immune. I am looking forward to the Knox issue of FHM as she cashes in on her infamy though.

Brockwell Park is only fifteen minutes walk away in all fairness, albeit in another borough. Let somebody else's council tax pay for it eh!

I'm not trying to find the truth, just people's reactions to it, and marks out of ten for how fit she is obviosuly ;)

Perhaps we should start a Lewes stylee effigy burning tradition in East Dulwich. If we set them on fire at The Plough and then carry them aloft down Barry Road to The Clockhouse perhaps?
-
You can't help but feel that's what it boiled down to. That and a whiff of a backroom deal done somewhere. I honestly have no idea what went on that night and am not going to get into a sue/djkq pointless discussion of the case, but I was genuinely taken aback when I switched on the telly and can't help feeling like someone has got away with(ish) with murder. Mind you, you would ;)
